Most streamers and youtubers are huge babies.. sniping is no longer a crutch.. it takes skill now, get over it

it's all over the place.. Everyone is upset about the change to snipers (most notably, the added flinch)
Personally, I love the change. It creates a much bigger skill gap. We used to get scared coming around a corner and some asshole is just crouched hardscoping with a glare (probably been there for 2 mintues). Now? We get excited because our primary will keep them at bay.. now if they happen to get a headshot, it was a lucky mishap (or they are really good) can't get mad at that..
Being honest. The added flinch was much needed. Making it very hard to hit previously easy shots.
I just find it funny that a lot of people are contemplating quiting sniping or destiny altogether because the easy sniping "fun" factor is gone.. [b]perfect exapmle of all the sheep that play this game and need the "Meta" to compete[/b]
Thoughts? Opinions?
Edit: a lot of people didn't like the damage nerf. But it makes sense. Only the highest impact snipers (if any) should be able to one shot someone out of a super.

i dont even notice any difference to snipers in any way other than the damage. still get shot in the head 3x with mida and land a headshot with no problem, which is why i VERY rarely break a sniper out other than to observe the changes for myself first hand. they didnt do nearly enough to them. if you get shot one time anywhere on your body you should descope entirely, especially if you get shot in the head. sniping is way too easy in this game. way too easy. body shot damage needs to be drastically reduced to no more than 95 dmg on high impact. there currently is no risk in running a sniper. all you have to do if you get flanked is body shot, hop back and throw a nade or melee. or just use tlw and gun a shotgunner down.

The flinch nerf is fine the ads nerf is fine, im even fine with the target acquisition. But nerfing the damage i'm not fine with that at all! I'm still going to sniper

They should keep it in PvP but reduce it by a bit in PvE.

1 ReplyFrom what I've seem today, the poll is not reflecting my game experience. From probably 40 elimination matches (just today), a good 80% of opponents were using scrubsticks. This being the first day I've played since the patch I was surprised this many people changed. Imma even say I saw 5% using sidearm and 5% using fusion rifles (say what?). I hardly saw people using snipers at all. You guys know the saying. The good people will adapt. The bad ones will bitch, piss and moan and probably use a scrubstick. I honestly didn't think the nerf would make that much of a difference and with decent sniping technique, it really doesn't.

The nerf didn't really affect me. I like to snipe, but I can never hit someone while being shot at anyways, so the flinch thing isn't a big deal.

I'm surprised that guy from PlanetDestiny hasn't uploaded a scathing rant video about how snipers are unusable now. He freely admits that he's not too good at sniping and goes for body shot-primary combo so this change will really affect him. On a related note, auto rifles are [i]amazing[/i] at deterring snipers now.

If this poll reaches close to 50% 48% then that means half of us are good snipers and the other half either gets killed by the better sniper or uses another secondary. Stats talk

Most the youtubers/streamers i watch actually were extremely positive about the change. Mtashed and tv were both positive about it and both are amazing snipers

Mtashed is so dumb now. I used to enjoy him but he is now complaining about perfectly fine things and claimed "competitive sniping is dead" because he can't cheaply snipe people out of supers anymore.

7 RepliesThe only thing unnecessary was the damage nerf. Sure, if they're low-armor, you can still kill them in mid-Super, but the majority of sweaty players I know rely on lots of armor and recovery.
