What does Warframe succeed in that Destiny cannot?

I've played both these games. And by my analysis I can see Warframe proves to be the better game. But why? The fan base must be smaller but statistically why is it better than Destiny? This isn't a general opinion it's half fact half somewhat opinion. For example, I was obsessed with Warframe at one point, then after awhile I decided to try Destiny, and I loved it. Then after another long few months, Destiny became grindy, which most of us know. Then finally I went back to Warframe and have been playing it since. I'd like to hear the voice of the community so throw all the comments you please, whether it's agreeing with me or hate comments lol. Edit: I understand that I cannot compare these two games in anyway. What I question is missions in warframe have a different tileset (map) in every single mission, so the rooms don't look the same every time you do a mission. Even different scenarios where the map gives the enemy an advantage or something like that. In Destiny, the map is exactly the same every time for every mission wtf. Recently though strikes got updated with potential taken threats but so what, that's just different enemies. The map is still the same and the graphics in Destiny get old with the same map. Although, I will say Destiny succeeds in better gunplay, better graphics, and possibly better mechanics. Like I said these are all opinions and I apologize for my ignorance.

In destiny i grind for recycled guns that are not that diverse Warframe has more diversity in it's loot Though the biggest problem that the console version handles warframe poorly if you play with 4 people unlike destiny

      • It's all down to personal preference. I didn't like Destiny but I love Warframe. I managed 2 weeks in Destiny but i've got thousands of hours in Warframe. Personal preference.

      • Warframe has a better story, more planets and is free. Also it isnt a typical freemium model as you can make plat easily with prime parts.

Play the game you prefer to play. Personally I only enjoyed warframe for a very limited amount of time. I found that there was way to much grinding for my enjoyment. Grind keys to get a chance at a part to then grind more keys to get a chance at another part. Constantly build and wait on new stuff so that you can build and wait on better stuff. Finally spend money so you can actually get the part you need or become a market hound. Destiny on the other hand has an end. A point where I feel like I've accomplished my goal: finish a raid, max light, all exotics, complete grimoire all reachable points. I liked warframe but there was never an end to go for. I was only actively pursuing one small goal at a time because of how long it took. At least with Destiny I could set a goal each week and have it done. But all that is just my opinion on the Grind. I could give an opinion on which competitive mode is better, which story is better, or which community is better. In the end it comes down to preference. Personally, I'll choose Destiny over warframe.

        • Well, they aren't really comparable. Destiny is more of a FPSRPG, and while Warframe is not an MMO, it's gameplay reflects that of an MMO. However, I think Warframe shines in its gameplay and build diversity. Mods have great depth, whereas Destiny's preset nodes don't really change how you play. I feel warframes gameplay is more enjoyable in short bursts, however I've been playing for 2 years. I think Warframe shines in mid-game. When you're still learning and building your arsenal up. At late game, you've kinda done everything. I just get on to do the sortie every now and then. Maybe farm for new primes when they release. I think that it's because DE markets their content for short bursts. They get an influx of players at every update and every prime release. This isn't really comparable to Destiny's streamlined shooter which relies on concurrent players.

No such thing as half fact. In fact, it's impossible. So what you're left with is opinions. When faced with two options, you're always gonna have a favorite, even if you like both. Nothing wrong woth that. For you, Warframe trumps Destiny. For others, it may be other way around. I've played both games and i find my self going back to Destiny. For me warframe is way too grindy (its to encourage the fast track micro transactions).

            • You like it more because it's diversity on gameplay, you probably won't be stuck on any meta since almost every weapon and frame can be op, the devs give much more attention to their community, and constant updates Destiny works in another way (which I don't like and won't comment, but their playerbase likes so... Good... For them?)
I agree with your point but you can't simply compare both games and point one is better than another
• For me they are both loot shooters and only one feels like the loot is worth the time of actually getting it. In destiny I play to get new loot to have enough power to do the raid with friends. Now I do have fun playing, but once I've got that far I lose interest in getting loot, nothing changes the game enough to keep me grinding. For example the scout I'll go into the raid with will feel next to no different than the green I picked up in the first story mission of the dlc. Just stats and a nice perk or two but the actual feel of it is the same. Hopefully this dlc has better loot but I think "pvp balance" will stop them from ever having interesting weapons unfortunately. Warframe just has much more veriety in terms of weapons types and stlyes within types. One auto rifle can feel much different to the next. I can acquire a new load out and all of a sudden the game feels fresh again. Going from a auto rifle/duel pistol combo to a granade launcher/wrist fired energy blaster lol. Elemental damage does alot more than elemental damage in destiny too. With an actual effect rather than just damage to certain enemys. I'm not even going to mention classes, that's a no contest lol. Both are good games and I fully understand if you prefer one to the other, but considering both games require you to do the same activities day in, day out. Warframe does a much better job of making it feel different every time.

              • Probably the depth. Warframes are far more class worthy then the excuses in destiny. Plus mods out right change some powers or make them better by making a certain aspect of that power shine. So you can end up with something like a negative strength nova and actually speed enemies up to make farming faster. This extends to weapons as well. Destiny's classes lack depth. And the limits we have on customization of actual gameplay is minimal. Finally warframe has an excellent movement system. Destiny at it's best is slightly less clunky. And that's titan skating. Which is only one class. I enjoy both titles for different reasons though. Gunplay in destiny feels really satisfying.

Warframe is free to play; destiny is not. All gear in warframe can be farmed at a decent pace; some gear in destiny has a limit of 3 a week, and even then it's random. Warframe (being free to play) has acceptable microtransactions; destiny isn't free to play, doesn't even have legitimate free dlc and still has microtransactions. Warframe devs haven't made promises they failed to deliver on; destiny devs have. The list could go on I'm sure.

First I don't understand why people compare these 2 games. For me they're nothing alike. With that being said you said destiny is a grind. For me warframe is easily one of the biggest grind fest games I've ever played. Both are great games and both offer different experiences. Warframe is a lot more in-depth with its customisation and not just cosmetic either. Frames and weapons can be modded anyway you want, the only drawback is having to re level them when forma-ed (unless you xp farm). Like I said both are great games and both have plenty to do in them. Destiny was abit of a grindy game back in year 1 but all that's gone now, no more material farming or leveling guns up, its all instant now.

              • For a while I was very into it, but eventually it just gets boring. I just got sick of gathering materials, waiting hours for something to build, leveling the item up, the discarding it if I want another weapon because of how slots work. I built a full Clan Dojo with everything researched nearly on my own (friends were no help), completed the main story thus far, etc, and it all just felt so hollow and unsatisfying. I still hop on occasionally for a bit of violent mass murder, but that's really all it promises IMO. As a disclaimer, I still think Warframe is a pretty fantastic game. The story is interesting, if a bit odd, the soundtrack is great, and the mechanics are OK too. I just prefer Destiny myself.

              • I just can't play Warframe anymore. I put hundreds of hours into it before Destiny, but stopped playing before Destiny came out. It's just become too grindy for me. I wouldn't mind the grind so much if I enjoyed how it played either. I put at least 300 hours into every Monster Hunter game, but it never gets boring.
