Following needs to be fixed when Rise of Iron launches. Crucible is now uber-competitive and filled with 335 try-hards using Grasp, MIDA, Doctrine, Eyasluna, etc. No one is experimenting with different loadouts because all the other primaries are so gimped. And casual players have absolutely no chance, outside of cheap supers. It needs to be shaken up and made friendlier. Please. For everyone's sanity.
- Snipers are ridiculously easy to use because nothing pressures them, even at surprisingly close ranges, and body shot damage is very high.
- MIDA feels OP as hell (like Suros, Vex, Thorn before it)
- Auto rifles are still 99.9% useless (Doctrine aside)
- It's nowhere near as easy to hit headshots with primaries (not snipers) as it was in year 1 because of all the weird tweaks to the range stat, etc. I think this hurts casuals the most.
- Hand cannons are too unstable and slow to be fun.
- Titan skating is unbelievably dumb (I main a Titan and 'skating' just isn't what this class is meant to be about; it's meant to be a tank). The solution should have been higher armor to counter high agility of other classes. Other classes can counter Titans too easily through pure evasion.
- CQB is absolutely horrendous. No drama because rangefinder shotgun range ends it so quickly
- Melee hits on someone who is about to strike you with their super frequently do not register.
- Every single match is hyper competitive. That's not enjoyable. It's draining.
I'm not playing any more Crucible until next patch. I can't stand the lack of variety. And I know I'm not the only one. My friends don't even want to play at all any more - and it's bumming out their excitement for Rise of Iron.
The fun has been gradually sucked out of this game since Taken King dropped. Is it just that the try-hards are left still playing? Well, maybe make the crucible a less hostile environment for lapsed players and it wouldn't be so over-competitive. I don't want to sweat my ass off in every match.
I bet it's all been said a thousand times. Monthly balance updates are needed, in my view, with an emphasis on promoting variety and FUN.

TL:DR - best loadouts and rolls have reached saturation point, and primaries are mostly awful. The crucible is therefore ruined, and someone needs to hit the big reset button.

When did you start playing destiny?
-
1 Reply80% of the time when I get killed and I'm wondering "what is that guy using, he killed me crazy quick" it's Mida. Mida is stupidly OP.
-
14 RepliesLol nobody is forcing you to use the boring meta. The rest depends on you bud, dont blame the weapons. Pick up a NLB and shake things up yourself.
-
MIDA only stands out as "OP" because the "OP" weapons before it got nerfed to oblivion. If you take out MIDA, something else will take its place.
-
I love it when people complain that the meta is boring. How you die isn't different regardless of the gun so you choose to play in a boring way. You are the problem honey

6 RepliesI was trying to hear you out until "Titans are supposed to be tanks". They're not. Warlocks have the potential for the most armor. If you want to try to squeeze them into RPG archetypes, why isn't the Titan seen as the Healer? They do support better than they "tank". Titan skating isn't OP. They never disappear from sight or radar and must move in a linear direction parallel to the ground, unlike Blink. The possibility of getting hung up on corners and other map formations and getting ganked while you're stuck is high. High enough to make skating a skilled tactic when used with moderate proficiency.

4 RepliesEdited by The Big Doogan: 8/23/2016 6:28:17 PMFun sucked out? Mida as OP as the Vex and Thorn? Dear lord did you join when the Taken King dropped? The Vex pre nerf could 3 shot and it fired like an auto rifle. The Thorn and Last Word ruled the crucible for MONTHS with zero competition. And the Suros? It could get beat by legendary auto rifles that were rolled properly sure but no other class of primary could touch auto rifles. But let's go back to that Thorn Last Word meta I mentioned. You say the fun has been sucked out but fail to understand that there was no fun before the Taken King. There was either using the Last Word and a sniper or using the Thorn and a shotgun. There were no other weapon options. Compare that to the mets we have currently. Many different classes of weapons see effective use. Pulse rifles such as the Nirwen's, the Hawksaw, and of course the Grasp of Malok are all very effective. Scout rifles such as the Mida, Hung Jury, and Inward Lamp are all very strong. Auto rifles don't have as many options but still have more than they have had since the Suros meta. Weapons like the Arminius D, Soul Stealer's Claw, and obviously the Doctrine give players some competitive options. Handcannons are currently the weakest overall group for not players although they are typically the most used primaries in 'sweaties' due to their current high risk high reward nature. Weapons like Eyasluna, Byronic Hero, Last Word, and Thorn can compete easily with any other primary. So clearly there's plenty of weapon diversity and you simply have no idea what you're talking about. But please, do go about how much fun the meta before the Taken King was. LOL

2 RepliesYou need a nerf
-
Obligatory git gud.
-
The fact that you said titans are meant to be tanks, snipers are too hard to avoid, and that hand cannons are hard to use completely invalidated everything you have to say.
-
Snipers are my biggest gripe in PVP tbh
-
Amen to that brother. When every guardian uses the same weapons there is a problem. You can put a shot in the centre of a snipers head and with no flinch at all he quick scope kills you. When meta scrubs justify it by saying improve primaries they completely miss the point. Snipers are not supposed to be close range mobile guns and it doesn't matter how powerful you gun is if your dead in one shot. Also how does it make sense to restrict the best auto rifle in the game to the top 10% of players as though they weren't hard enough to kill already. AND THE CHEATS!!! What is the point! This is a game. You don't win anything, or gain anything. Not even loot or rep. It's all RNG on top of RNG! The crucible is a frustrating, laggy, unfriendly place. 90% of my friends have moved on and I must be mad sticking around. Matchmaking can't even put full teams together any more. This game is like an abusive partner. It will treat you like crap but you can't help coming back.

The reason why there is so many try hard is because destiny is pettry dry in content right now so the only thing left for alot of player is to get better at cruicible. Im myself 3/4 of the time a try hard sometimes i get bored and use some other guns for fun or for challenge but my main goal is to get better at cruicible and i guess im not the only one.
-
TL DR. Why don't you shake this instead!
-
It should just be renamed the sweat lodge.
-
You don't look like you've been experiment either
-
Someone take this guy honor away.
-
The only thing I agree with there is that their are to many tryhards, but I don't think any of that stuff should be nerfed.
-
I guess I just feel bad for you since you probably truly believe everything you wrote
-
1 ReplyI'm tired of these nerfs!
-
1 ReplyI use nothing but my primary, if you think they're that ineffective it must be you. Autos are great, get more range on your Handcannons and their accuracy problem is fix. Shotties are fine, stay out of sniper lanes. Only thing I think should change is that snipers should flinch more when hit by a headshot.
-
MIDA is fine, it's just everything else got nerfed cause of posts like these, so when MIDA gets nerfed, all primaries will suck.
-
Mida is just fine. The problem is that nothing else is consistent.
-
I'm using the Saterienne Rapier and Lord of Wolves.
-
Regardless of how many shitty points this guy makes, we can all at the very least agree that bungie needs to drop balance patches more frequently. Besides simply helping to balance the crucible, it does actually shake up the meta and give us opertunities to try new things and play against people trying new things.
-
Oh yeah?
