Chose a new destiny element that you think would fit nicely into destiny (hopefully 2) or would be cool to have a subclass of.
Post links or ideas to subclasses, ive seen a few, be inventive.

Please take no offense to this, but none of these seem to make sense to me as actual new additions(including pure light/dark on a small scale).. as all of the existing subclasses are based on known sources/varieties of light, not elements.. think of the colors in the spectrum of visible light.. think of a rainbow.. ever heard of Roy G. Biv?.. we already have orange, blue, and violet.. My guess is that it would take a knowledge of (and possibly an ability to wield) all 7
do you see where I'm going with this!?.. Bungie and their love of the number 7!?
colors as subclasses for the Guardians as a whole to form "Pure" light to push back the darkness in the end Also.. not sure if you noticed, but in the RoI Cosmodrome reveal on Twitch, the Splicer servitors were shooting a very RED.. not orange/solar.. but a RED colored grouping of projectiles.. as were other splicer enemies.. this may not mean a new subclass now, but maybe in the future(?).. but this also got me to thinking about other possibilities.. 1) in past Bungie games there is a tendency to make a bitter enemy an unwavering ally.. as of now the only enemy we know that has been an ally of the traveler and capable of wielding the light are the fallen.. 2)and it was fallen using weapons with the RED damage type in the RoI reveal.. so.. What if the fallen were to be granted a second chance, by the traveler, upon awakening? What if they can only wield certain spectrums of light and guardians can only wield the others.. would make sense given what I have said about the full spectrum of light (roygbiv) and Bungie's previous M.O. in game development..

4 RepliesEdited by rkirsch11: 7/31/2016 1:13:08 AMWarlocks already have control of their light down to the closest thing guardians have to "pure light". So... Is "pure light" a flashlight or lamp or something?

1 ReplyEdited by Legend of Jordy: 7/29/2016 5:21:46 AMHere's an Idea, how about a SIVA element, appears the color red like the Hobgoblin sniper shots, raging Hive Ogres/knights, sleeper stimulant, etc. The only thing is what to call it because SIVA light doesn't sound right. Other than that, some sort of Green Light is the most necessary since there are characters like Eris Morn, Dredgen Yor, and various Hive, and Fanatics from the VoG. Frost Light sounds cool but makes no sense, however I would love a Frost Titan or Warlock Subclass.

So with all these elements combined are we gonna bring out captain planet or... what's the situation here?

IF they introduce a new element...I want them to make all elements relevant (heh, that's fun to say). What I mean is: Arc Rounds - Either Chain damage to other enemies or have a chance to stun Solar Rounds - Either have a chance to burn enemies or make them more susceptible to damage Void Rounds - Chance for suppression (this is the one that I have a hard time coming up with ideas for) Until something like this happens, elemental damage really means nothing. I mean, sure taking down shields...but that's not even a rock-paper-scissors mechanic...its rock beats rock paper beats paper...etc. This is why I don't miss elemental primaries, I mean, whoopty doo my bullets are blue...

I would love to see an Ice element. The potential is amazing. But honestly, if Bungie adds a new element, it will probably be light and dark (unless you count void as the dark).

3 Replies43% of the community are noobs lol. Have you ever played an MMO before? Arc is basically Ice whether its lightning or electricity, its blue and its effects are blue. Thats not very intriguing. On the other hand everyone else who picked death/poison knows what they're talking about. Lol.. people complain about no content then pick the element thats most similar. GG.

Poison will be nerfed, I mean come on. There's a reason viking funeral isn't used anymore

Or how bout build your own subclass, imagine shadow shot with thunderstrike and juggernaut and fusion grenades
Chose a new destiny element that you think would fit nicely into destiny (hopefully 2) or would be cool to have a subclass of. 1 ReplyInstead of focusing on new elements how about upgrading the current ones we have. Adding new supers and skill/perk trees to the current ones. That way they can stay within the lore but add more variety to our Guardians.

Crack cocaine.

These may be cool to fantasise about but none of the options are viable for Guardians and their lore.
-
13 RepliesMost of the elements you have listed would not physically work or mesh into the lore. The elements are based of of energy and forces, as well as fundamental forces of the universe(Energy, Gravity, Strong Nuclear Force, Weak Nuclear force, etc.). It simply would not work. 1 ReplyIf we introduce a 4th element, then everyone will want a 5th element. Then, Bruce Willis will show up and kick everyone's ass. That sounds terrible, yet awesome at the same time.
