Part 1: [spoiler]https://www.bungie.net/en/Forums/Post/209827615?sort=0&page=0[/spoiler]
Guardian and Ghost come to a darkened chasm at the center of the Wall. Blue pairs of Fallen eyes can be seen in the distance, but they are not entirely distinguishable as such.
"Stay here, I'll try to rub some sticks together." Ghost says, flying out over the chasm and his voice slowly dissipating as he gets farther away from Guardian, "And by sticks, I mean highly complex circuits that I am fully equipped to repair, revive, and otherwise rouse from dormancy, much like I did to you, Guardian."
High up in the dilapidated ceiling of the Wall, sparks and beams shimmer as Ghost gets to work. Suddenly, one by one, UV lights overhanging the chasm flutter to life.
"There we go." Ghost says, teleporting back to you.
Below the lights, Fallen units can be seen clinging to the sides of enormous pipes and crouching being the railing of rusted balconies. A Vandal rises, raises his weapon with a screech, and all of its comrades crawl across the pipelines and run across bridges in order to face you.
"Uh-oh." Ghost says, and begins tampering with a gate nearby the Guardian.
Shanks rise from chasm's depths and hover towards you.
"What are we gonna do?" the Guardian asks in a panic.
The gate raises slightly, but not fully.
"Quick-- crouch under here and grab the rifle on the other side." Ghost tells Guardian.
Guardian presses O to crouch underneath the gate and get to the other side. They go to a rifle lying against a crate and acquire the Khvostov 7G-02, their HUD appearing with no shielding. They inspect it in a first-person animation.
"That's quite an old model. Hopefully it's still functional." Ghost says.
"Hopefully?" Guardian says dreadfully.
"Well, we'll just have to see once you confront these Fallen units."
Guardian goes down a hallway leading towards the bridges crossing the chasm upon which the Fallen were running across earlier. Upon entering a turn, Fallen Dregs of the House of Devils [the House of all Fallen within the Wall], clad in red and black armor and equipped with Shock Daggers, drop from air vents in the ceiling and attack Guardian. Guardian presses L2 to aim, R2 to shoot, and R1 to melee.
"Well, that rifle's certainly functional." Ghost says after all Dregs are defeated.
"Alright... I think I can handle these things." Guardian says, exasperated.
"That's the spirit!"
Guardian continues past another turn and into a construction room in front of a bridge. Here, Fallen Dregs equipped with Shockers [Shock Pistols] and a Vandal equipped with dual Staticars [Shock Swords] attack the Guardian. Various crates and rubble serve as cover.
"Use the crates as cover against enemy ranged attacks." Ghost suggests.
"Well I knew that already, Ghost. Just because I've just been risen from the dead doesn't mean I don't have any common sense." Guardian exclaims hurriedly in frustration while partaking in battle with the Fallen.
"Good to know."
"Well, we have more weapons and ammunition; that's some good news." Ghost says after the Fallen in the construction room are defeated.
Guardian acquires a Shocker and a Staticar from Fallen corpses, switches between weapons with [Triangle], edits their loadout in Character Menu by pressing Options, and comes to the bridge crossing the chasm. More Vandal Swordsmen run across the bridge towards Guardian, Shanks hover over the bridge, and a Vandal Sniper equipped with a Wirer [Wire Rifle] perches along the side of a large pipe above the side of the bridge. All units attack. Crates scattered across bridge serve as cover.
Once the Fallen are defeated, Guardian levels up to Level 2, and earns 1 Skill Point. Tutorial on how to spend SP is shown. Shielding is gained.
"Impressive. You were certainly some sort of warrior in your past life, weren't you, Guardian?" Ghost asks after the Fallen are defeated.
"Honestly, I can't remember, and I don't want to try to at the moment; I just want to get the hell out of here." Guardian replies.
"Right. Then let's keep going."
Guardian presses X to jump across broken gap in the bridge and get to the end of it. At the end of the bridge, there is a turn into another room, a service room that looks to be the beginning of a sewer line. From the side of the room opposite to you, Dreg Shockers, Vandal Swordsmen, and Vandals equipped with Pursuers [Shock Rifles] file in from an opening in the wall which leads into a large ventilation pipeline and attack the Guardian.
"You most certainly were a warrior before your resurrection, weren't you?" Ghost asks after Guardian defeats the Fallen in the service room.
"Not right now, Ghost!" Guardian retorts, and moves on into the large ventilation pipeline.
After passing through dormant fans in the pipeline, Guardian exits through another opening and comes into a crumbling room which leads to the other side of the Cosmodrome Wall and into the Divide. It is midnight.
"So this is the Cosmodrome..." Guardian says distantly.
"Quite wonderful, isn't it?" Ghost says.
"Haha, funny."
"I am not joking! So many relics of the Golden Age, monuments of the enlightened advance of human technology, lie here!"
"What, those ships? Well... they're pretty ugly relics, if you ask me."
"They may be dilapidated, but they are still beautiful."
"Okay...?"
"Alright, now let me request the uplink to a ship transmat... Wait..."
"What? What is it?"
"There's something interfering with the transmat signal."
"So what does that mean? No ship?"
"No ship."
"Dammit... Well... how'll we get out of here?"
"With just the right amount of luck, we can stumble upon a still-functional Golden Age jumpship that will get us in the air if we move on just a bit further."
"Then let's move."
"Right."

1 ReplyI also wouldn't describe the Fallen as "units" given that they aren't machines or a hive mind. It's also worth noting that the House of Devils has Red and a tan-ish color, not red and black.
