I believe chief is approaching his last days as a spartan and will mostly and probably should die very soon(Halo6?). I think it's safe to say he just about finshed the fight.
How do you feel about this? If he were to die, how should he go out?

Spartans never die there just missing in action.

He finished the fight in Halo 3. All this post halo 3 bullshit is all just a bad dream.
-
Not until him, locke, and arby make a porn with halsey with cortana peeking through a window like a creep.

Edited by dobs0killer: 7/28/2016 8:40:34 AMThey should have introduced Locke and never have created Osiris,

End it finally.

6 RepliesEdited by Punished: 7/26/2016 5:30:06 PMI'd rather see him fly off into the distance never ti be seen again.

Yeah but Spartans never die...

10 RepliesMaster Chief is more than just Halo's protagonist, he's the Xbox's unofficial mascot and video game icon. One does not simply kill the Master Chief, but he can't fight forever either; and the franchise will have to move on from him sooner or later. Perhaps he will end up were he started: floating in space in a cryo tube neither living nor dead; with rampant speculation on wether he will return; keeping him alive in our hearts and minds. Spartans never die after all.

2 RepliesHe should have died after 3.

I don't really know anymore... I would say yes, but he has no successor, nobody that that when you hear "halo" you think of a specific character. I feel like 343 missed a big opportunity with halo 5. They could've introduced Spartan Locke and worked him into being the leading figure of halo, but instead they threw him and fireteam Osiris into the game without any explanation. I could literally not care any less if Locke or any member of Osiris died, and the same goes for blue team (excluding master chief). Now let's look at halo reach, a team of six Spartans that we had never heard of were given to us, and we almost cried at each of their deaths. Sorry for the long rant, but in the long run, no, he isn't ready to die. At least not until 343 gives us a character worth caring about who could replace master chief. Oh, and...
Spartans never die, they just go MIA
10 RepliesIs it just me, or do these new spartans all seem like big wimps. Chief didn't need any fancy thrusters or spartan abilities. He fought the covenant using his assault rifle and melee. These new spartans are all really annoying and weaker than earlier spartans.

4 RepliesLocke should for ruining halo 5

12 RepliesWell it's more or less proven that he lives to Destiny, provided Destiny's timeline is Halo's future. You can find a cryo chamber with a so called "guardian of exceptional light" who said he was done fighting.
-
I don't think he should die though I do think it's time he resigns or retires.
-
The way I see it they have a couple choices. Let Buck take on the lead role, or introduce another new character from the lore. Or they could very well create a couple spin-off titles for a while when trying to come up with a new "Master Chief."
-
Maybe he should get a retirement home at a beach
-
he is an old fella time for thorne to get the role
-
He's most likely going to retire from service.

2 RepliesA handful of halos from now... Chief has finished his last fight. Found in a even more hopeless situation than the ending of halo 3. Is once more missing and/or stranded. With a barely functioning fragment of cortana, this fragment being her memories(all too similar to rvb), helps chief out of his armor. He looks at his heavily scarred armor and isn't functioning properly due to recent battle damage. The cortana fragment helps John into a Cyro pod, with both believing him to not get back out of. Moments after the pod is sealed, the AI fragment creates a message as code placed into Chiefs armor, maybe as a final legacy for him and her. The fragment then can't sustain itself after too much strain for a mere fragment disapaits and dies. Many years later(after another sequel), a new and upcoming poster child Spartan for the unsc during a mission to recover supposed sensitive unsc files also discovers old unsc Spartan tech superior to their current armor, as well as an empty cryo pod opened only weeks prior. The old model armor was not part of the mission but is retrieved and kept away from Oni. This new Spartan having personal friends in Spartan development and training, gets help salvaging major parts of the old tech armor and implanting it into their own, vastly improving it. Further situations arise because of this.
I just came up with this on the spot and actually found this fun. I could continue the story if people would like. Tell me what you guys think of this story
Well, I think that Fireteam Osiris and Blue Team should team up, and go in guns blazing, defeating Cortana, but slowly members start to be killed off. In the end, it's just Buck, MC, and Cortana. Buck gets hit bad, says a one liner almost as good as "Send me out, with a bang..." And dies. Then MC Blows up the Forunner thing and dies a true heroes' death. However, in the legendary ending we see a Forunner pod (with what appears to be MC inside) being recovered by the Arbiters ship.

9 RepliesAll the other spartans( besides blue and noble) are so weak compared to chief. So no.

They respawn
-
I really want him to live, but if he were to die in halo 6 it should be sacrificing himself to save everyone from cortana
-
1 ReplyI don't care if he dies, but the franchise needs to die
-
5 RepliesSpartans don't die. They're just missing in action. That said, if they plan on ending the series or moving from the chief, they should do it like bungie did with halo 3's ending
