After looking at the stats found at the above website on the usage of each subclass and the kills gained from melees, grenades and supers, I decided to use them to work out which subclasses were overperforming and which were underperforming. I'm no mathematician so there won't be any fancy jargon in the presentation of my findings, but it should be accurate and it does enable us to see which subclasses really get great use out of their abilities. The figure you see for each ability is the difference between the usage percentage and the percentage of the total kills using that ability.
Melee
Stormcaller (+2.86)
Sunsinger (+2.71)
Sunbreaker (+1.44)
Striker (+1.3)
Voidwalker (+0.7)
Nightstalker (+0.19)
Bladedancer (-1.49)
Defender (-2.36)
Gunslinger (-4.97)
Grenade
Nightstalker (+3.64)
Stormcaller (+2.53)
Sunsinger (+1.53)
Sunbreaker (+0.18)
Bladedancer (+0.16)
Voidwalker (+0.13)
Gunslinger (-1.12)
Striker (-2.21)
Defender (-4.47)
Super
Nightstalker (+4.69)
Sunbreaker (+2.51)
Bladedancer (+1.52)
Stormcaller (+1.26)
Striker (+0.91)
Gunslinger (-0.2)
Voidwalker (-1.99)
Defender (-3.29)
Sunsinger (-5.02)

Now, putting these figures together, if we consider the performance of all of these abilities (I know that there are other factors involved such as subclass nodes), this is how the subclasses are ranked. I think that you will notice some surprises to what you thought before reading this. Let me know your thoughts below.
Nightstalker (8.52)
Stormcaller (6.65)
Sunbreaker (4.13)
Bladedancer (0.19)
Striker (-0.01)
Sunsinger (-0.78)
Voidwalker (-1.16)
Gunslinger (-6.29)
Defender (-10.12)
As you can see, there are three strong subclasses getting some real purchase from their abilities, four relatively evenly matched subclasses, and two falling way behind.
