So, over the weekend I did something I've never done before. I went to LFG for trials partners. (Wait, it gets better) I sent multiple invites and had countless people join my party to chat and ask if they wanted to do some trials. Most of them had came in asking my ELO. Now, I understand ELO is a pretty good way to gauge a players skill in Destiny. As well as KD. I don't have the best ELO because I don't always play with the best players that 9-0 every weekend. I usually try to help my friends. My ACTUAL friends. They're not elitists. They're not the best. Hell, I'M not the best, but I can 9-0 every weekend with the right team.
Long story short, these elitist joined my party and quickly took to DTR and trials report. (I can't blame them). But all of them said I WASN'T good enough. Yeah, it isn't the best thing to hear, but I know I'm good enough for smooth 9-0 runs. I used to help people to the light house every weekend. (I don't anymore, work gets in the way of trials help). After about 20 people saying I'm sh*t at the game I finally found someone. Lower stats than me, lower ELO. But I didn't care, I could help this guy out, right? Then we had a third that had the same mind set. He was a pretty good player. Up to par on stats with me. Wanna know what's funny? Last weekend, on Widows Court, was one of the fastest 9-0 cards I've ever played. With 2 guy from LFG that had decent stats.
Elitists. I have one thing to say to you. Give people a chance. I'm not upset I was turned down. Not one bit. I'm disappointed in you. There are people like me that help the little people to the light house, which means we might have lower ELO than you. But I'll take a guy that helps the community at the sacrifice of his numbers than the guy who turns everyone down because they don't have big numbers. Maybe you can also help the lighthouse virgins if you're that good.
Thanks for reading guys!
Edit: Thank you everyone for your opinions on this. Anyone can do it. Anyone can go to the lighthouse. You just gotta put the effort forth. Btw, we are trending! Thanks to being trending because of all of you, lighthouse virgins see this post first and hopefully that means that they can match up with some of you better players and finally go flawless! You guys are awesome! Thank you!

6 RepliesSorry this is a dumb question but what's ELO
-
81 RepliesEh, I can agree to an extent. I usually want people to have a 2.0+ Trials KD before I'd consider searching with them, but that's only because I want to fly through the card. Now, recently I did play with a 12 year old kid who had about a 1.3 K/D. He found me on LFG and promised me he was good. Normally I wouldn't have invited him, but I was feeling friendly that morning. Turns out he is a really solid sniper! I mean this kid was pulling off some very clutch plays...like sniping a Titan rushing him with a Juggernaut Shield. Anyways, I added him and have gone flawless with him a few times since I've met him. So I guess stats don't tell the whole story, but that doesn't mean everyone with a 1.3 K/D are gonna be able to hold their own like this kid.

If you play PvP on Destiny what are you doing its pointless trash
-
- I don't know what an ELO is - I don't have a great K/D - I don't play much crucible I have been to the lighthouse twice and gone 9-1 maybe 4 or 5 times. OP tells the truth folks you can get there without a bunch of elite players if you just work as a team. Just give people a chance and have fun.
-
Just feel sorry for them. The fact they act like that in a video game shows they have no accomplishment in real life.

5 Repliesi find it hilarious that people think any stat, relating to this game, holds any kind of relevancy. there are far too many variables that are out of players' control to make any of them even remotely accurate, let alone tell you anything about the player.

4 RepliesEdited by Ant Heuser Kush: 7/14/2016 11:21:02 PMI think I played one trials card. I've never been to the lighthouse and my K/D sucks. Hell, I don't even know what 'ELO' means, and I don't care. I like the gear I have, I like my colors, I like my weapons loadout, and I have fun with the people I game with. I'll never go 9-0 and honestly, I don't care. The new DLC is around the corner and they'll be more than enough content to hold me over for a while. I have fun with a group of people who are chill, not these elitist sweatys who you would think get paid by Bungie to raid or do Trials... It's a game people -- lighten the -blam!- up.

6 RepliesWhat's a good ELO score and where can I find mine? I'm sure I would have been rejected too.
-
3 RepliesWhat the hell is ELO? I know how to look up my kd and combat rating, but ELO?
-
4 RepliesI would love to be good enough to carry i might be able to single carry but definitely not double carry. Good on you bro
-
1 ReplyI suck at trials, can anyone help
-
Never gone to the lighthouse, and I probably never will. Ur I'm cool with it. Why get elitist gear, when I can find some regular ol raid loot, or some IB loot as well.
-
1 ReplyI just LOVE your attitude.
-
If you weren't upset then why'd you make a post about it?
-
Na, I just tell the elitists that they can't have any of my caves beans in the apocalypse. Even when they are starving in front of me. Those beans are for my dog.
-
9 RepliesThis is why I stopped playing trials. I have ~20 lighthouse runs in year 2. 100% of these runs were with random people on the forums. Each time it was difficult finding a team, and I had similar experiences as you mentioned above. Each week it has become increasingly more difficult to find teammates. From the sounds of it, you seem to have a similar mindset as myself, and I would enjoy a trials card with you if you are on XB1.

Good man, GOOD man...love to read stuff like this.
-
Yah my kd suffers due to the 6200+ assists. If even half of those were kills I'd be at 1.1ish.
-
Preach it man, people do the same things to me. Just join and leave. Done playing trials now haha.
-
I'm a casual with terrible ELO/KD/Ranking but I like playing the game and I've been with great players who, like you, have helped me out over the course of the game, thank you!
-
I found two guys who never play trials before and weren't any good in crucible. They were desperate to get the year 2 moments done. Found myself in a bunch of 3v1 situations and definitely improved my sniper skills. I like helping others even if I'm no crucible monster :)
-
1 Replythe irony is that these elitists are usually really bad
-
It's just a video game. I don't see how people are so uptight about some phony numbers in a video game.
-
1 ReplyThe lighthouse isnt a place for casuals
