The only thing that would be like cod would be the primaries, also destiny would still have slower kill times if they buffed primaries, and who cares anyway? If one thing is like cod. COD does have supers, but they work much different to destiny, elemental subclasses with unique grenades, lift, blink or glide, armor pieces that give you special abilities.. So if they buffed primaries it wouldn't be any where near cod. Also in y1 kill times were around .6 to .9 when TLW was glitched, but everything was mostly .7 to . 9 and in bo3 the meta is around .2....
So how would be like cod?
Now, can we buff primaries so people will get there attention off special and trying to nerf it?

4 RepliesAfter finishing the Weapon Masters questline, as rage inducing as it was at times, I had a couple of realizations: 1. This quest forces players to play against their natural tendencies by coercing them into using only primaries in Crucible. The people in Crucible not working on this quest had a massive advantage. 2. Primaries are easily outclassed by secondaries and heavies in regular gameplay. I had several encounters where TTK was so slow that the other guy either got away or tanked enough bullets to get close enough for fusion or shotgun kills. We aren't aimbots who hit crit shots on stationary targets. Players move, jump, hide, sprint, whatever it takes to not get shot. So, yes, buff all primaries.

Primaries are in a good spot imo Spezial Weapons with the amount of Spezial Ammo are a bigger issue imo You basicly don't need to use a primary with amount of spezial ammo you can pick up. So why buffing them when only 20% of the kills in a game are from Primaries

4 RepliesYou can't seriously be trying to say that the TTK could never be like CoD if they only buffed primaries, because that makes nonsense. How could the TTK of the overall game possibly be slower than the TTK of the primary weapons? Since when does the addition of massive OHK abilities like supers make it [u]harder[/u] to kill people and slow down the game? That's not even a remotely rational conclusion to make.

2 RepliesCoD meta primary TTK sits at 0.2 sec. Halo at 1.33. Destiny Y2 between 0.9 and 1-1 secs. Destiny Y1 between 0.3 (unrealistic, but possible with TLW and the ADS glitch) - 0.66 secs. Ignoring TLW, I never understood any comparison with CoD.

You nailed the TTK. High impact weapons should be the fastest killing weapons, but the most punishing. Im gonna give an example from HoW. I don't remember the exact TTK from the 2 burst pulse rifles, but it's a 3 burst now and it's TTK is 1.14 I believe. So... First burst at 0 seconds, 2nd burst at .57, 3rd at 1.14, sound good? Anyway, I tried the messenger in PvP. Yes it could 2 burst, but if the target strafed at all, I found the burst to spread and leave me hanging with that terrible 3 burst TTK. I did much better with the bad juju. It was just much more reliable when playing smarter players. It's the same reason people use the mida instead of the jade rabbit. The rabbit is harder to handle, even though it has a much quicker TTK. If they wanted to nerf those high impact pulse rifles, they should have lowered the fire rate a bit. 2 burst at .65, but if you miss, your looking at 1.3 seconds for a TTK. Something along those lines. You give me a non auto archetype, I could tell you why it was balanced in HoW, I tried them all. They need to get back to that. Right now, only TLW competes with special weapons. I can go 3+ games in a row with out getting killed by a primary, that's a problem.

11 Repliesyou must have not played BO3 yet, where its basically a ripoff of Destiny without overshields lol even their supers are the same... anyway, i dont think its that primaries need a buff, its that they need to limit special ammo to promote use of primaries... i did 3 hours of crucible last night towards my quests for moment of triumph and geesh i swear i was killed by snipers and shotguns more than primary weapons... even in trials all you see are people sitting back with the scopes aimed across the map.. Destiny PvP relies too heavily on specials, and i think the problem just comes from players ability to constantly stock up on ammo so they can keep using specials as their primary

The only game I really appreciated slow time to kill rates was Section 8 cause that took real skill to get a kill -that is if you don't spam detpacks and RPGs. Anyway I don't think buffing primaries is the only thing that needs doing, Bunghole also needs to further limit special ammo to emphasize it being "special"... cause right now they aren't special at all and are being used as primaries.

5 RepliesAnd honestly since year one like if you're not good with scouts get out. I feel like this game is heavily reliant on scouts to the point where we didn't even have auto rifles for a year. And "skilled" with a scout like mida you can out do a sniper and as far as I know scouts haven't been touched with nerfs and buffs and the argument is that you have to be "skilled" with scouts for them to be good so they don't need a nerf but you can easily pick up a scout and mow down

1 ReplyI'm not fond of fast kill times because I prefer games that reward tactics and strategy instead of simply having faster reflexes. But who knows? I'd never know whether or not I like it in Destiny until Bungie implements it, and they may be able to find a good balance between twitch and tactical.

This is my least favorite meta of them all. It relies far too heavily on running away. There's so much evading in this game now, it makes it not fun. It plays really campy because without a super, you aren't winning a 3v1 against players even half your skill. Back in the thorn/tlw glory days, you could run in and wipe a team if your shots were on point.

You can still buff weapons without effecting TTK. More range, stability, etc. would all hell, but still not effect how fast you kill. Only ever played Hardcore COD, only way it was any good. Normal mode...i don't have time to dump whole clips into sponges...just...terrible. As a beta/day 1 player, Destiny's Auto Rifles haven't been useable for a long time...since a certain beast from Suros was nerfed and every other Auto fell with it. They are in a much better place now, I wreck with my ARI-41. Pulse rifles and Hand Cannons(except the Hawk) need sum tweaking for sure. I wish they would just roll it all back to release stats, but balance the Pulse rifles that everyone neglected to use in the early days(they were hopeless tho in everyone's defence,crazy if you used one). Give us back our weapons as you originally intended them to be....let your Guardians feel the POWER again! 🤗
