Why are legacy console gamers getting entirely shafted because we bought something from bungie with faith they would be able to use that product for at least a year. I'm not the one who made the mistake of "running a modern game on 10 year old hardware". If the ps3 couldn't handle their ambition they shouldn't have released it on that console in the first place. they advertised heavily for the taken king bundle on the ps3 store, so if they were having issues with releasing new content that the ps3 could run, they were very misguiding by selling a bundle to get new customers on the ps3 as recently as 6 months ago. It's very upsetting that they screwed over so many legacy gamers just to make a few extra bucks and then leave them high and dry with a neutered, probably useless game. If i decided to buy a ps4 i wouldn't be so upset if they let us legacy gamers download it to the new console for free, but they're making us repurchase the whole game and all DLC, which is absolutely heartless. I have been in love with this company and their game, but this is a straight middle finger to all of us. and those of you with 4th gen consoles are totally right to be happy that they're phasing out the ps3, i get that you want a higher quality game that pushes your consoles to make the best game possible. but stop and think: you shouldn't have to be happy about this, they should have released it for ps4 only from the beginning. new generation consoles got screwed because of them catering to the legacy consoles, and the legacy consoles are getting screwed because they're destroying a game that I'm sure a lot of us just bought. this whole situation is distasteful, and i really hope it bites bungie in the behind.

1 Replywhy did you start calling it a legacy console all of a sudden whatever happened to old or outdated gen?
-
4 RepliesYou do now bungie isn't the only company making decisions right ? You do know they have Satan ( Activision ) making decisions for them right ?
-
1 ReplyI found a period. What do I get?
-
4 RepliesWait, so you bought this game at the end of your console's run, and expected this game to last how long on said console?
-
I'm with you bro! Today I went to Best Buy to get a TV and the jerks refused to accept my Confederate dollars! Like WTF right?

Your wall is pretty big but I've seen bigger. 6/10

You still can use what you paid for, deal with it

I got dumped because my pecker was too small! Now i need to get a better one to get back in business... This is unfair! She never should have been with me in the first place! I DESERVE a free pecker lenght upgrade now!!

1 ReplyMaybe be thankful that they gave you the experience for the past two years rather than excluding you from the start? They could have nix'd old gens from the start.
-
Edited by Deadcell186: 7/1/2016 9:54:31 PMBecause only 10% of Destiny players are on last gen. Would you spend $10 to manufacture a product to then only make $5 back?

3 RepliesScam? More like time and technology keeps moving forward and shit has to get left behind sometimes. Sucks, but thats how shit works. Posts like these make me think more than half of you guys never owned any system before the ps3/360. I mean...they're not making Destiny for my grey brick Gameboy so....
yeah, im old ass balls. Get off my lawn! But srsly. Gimme 8-bit Destiny for my Gameboy lol
People are still complaining about this?

I feel appalled that I am being held back by consoles that have run their course. I mean when Super Nintendo dropped on the market, production for anything licensed by Nintendo stopped for the NES. These players who have not felt the need to upgrade for systems that have been wholly available for the last three years, could have been purchased with a little thing called saving up for it. Please Bungie when Rise of Iron drops, please shutdown all servers tied to legacy console so you can dedicate your time to figuring out the matchmaking for 2 systems instead of 4. I had a blast playing on my dust ridden Xbox 360. but we have to look to the future. Signed a twice banned individual(for calling someone a silly name)
It's very upsetting that they screwed over so many legacy gamers just to make a few extra bucks and then leave them high and dry with a neutered, probably useless game.
10% of the community is not as much as the remaining 90% that are on current generation consoles. And the fact they even released on the last generation consoles was because many gamers were still in the transition to purchase current gen as well as a simple business tactic, that any business would do. Not just Activision or Bungie.
If you have loved the game and company so much, you should've seen this coming from a long time ago. Now, don't get me wrong, I understand why people are upset. But if you do love the game and company, you'd actually realize that last gen consoles were holding this game back. And the simple fact Bungie let it go this long, is really a privilege to last gen users to even play this game the way it is. Moving forward, now that it's on current gen only, will only allow the game to be as good as Bungie wants it to be. And it won't bite them in the behind. Sure, we all know Destiny has had a somewhat rocky start, but now that last gen is being left behind this August, the game is going to flourish the way it's always been intended. Anyone can argue and/or disagree. This is just my opinion.

Edited by TheArtist: 7/1/2016 9:46:34 PMWhy? Because Bungie has to compete in a market place with other game developers that are no longer making games for the XB360 and the Ps3...and they have to keep pace or lose business. Because Microsoft stopped even MAKING XB360s earlier this year, and Sony will likely follow suit soone and stop making PS3s Because both console makers have announced plans for machines even more advanced than the current XB1s and PS4s. Because I bought a gaming PC back in 1998 that had 512 MB of RAM (more than the base level of PS3) AND I CAN'T EXPECT THE PROGRESS OF TECHNOLOGY TO STOP FOR MY PERSONAL BENEFIT. My PS4 is 16 times more powerful that that machine...and actually cost me less money to buy. Yes, it sucks that the invention of the light bulb put a lot of candlemakers out of work. But the world is the better of for it having been invented. TLDR: This day was going to come. The legacy consoles are over 10 years old, and are obsolete machines where computing is concerned. Bungie carried them as long as they could. Ninety percent fo the game's players are now on PS4 and XB1, and its time to put the older machines out to pasture. I'm sorry .

1 ReplyDestiny players are mugs and Activision know it, wouldn't be surprised if some last gen kid ends up donating his kidney in exchange for ROI.
-
Hard to tell if this is ironic or satire
-
3 RepliesJust buy a new console man why are you crying old gen is crap now
-
Holy wall of text batman...
-
You should teach Bungie a lesson...delete all your characters and account immediately...that'll show em!
-
That is not a scam...
-
You've had 2 years since Destiny came out, awhile longer since the now current gen came out. The only person you have to blame is yourself for thinking that you can hold onto outdated technology.

3 RepliesBungie have proven themselves to be a money grabbing, incompetent shower of wankers. End of story.

Shouldn't have bought it for a legacy console. When I saw it came out I thought "hell no I'm waiting until I get my PS4." Can't say that legacy console gamers didn't see this coming. I understand why you're mad, but you also should've seen the writing on the wall. Hate to be a dick.
