Would you feel more secure if robots managed the economy. I think a machine would do a much better job managing a nation's cash and would also remove human greed from the equation of capitalism. What do you think?
Edit: I would only be against the idea if Conservatives programmed it, which would be unlikely because there aren't that many conservative scholars.

We don't operate under a planned economy.
would also remove human greed from the equation of capitalism.
Self-interest is why capitalism works so well. Manufacturers create as much wealth as possible because they want to reap the benefits. Apple doesn't create iPhones out of goodwill for humanity.

Who programs the robots? Programmers are human therefore fallible.

The problem is that humans would be designing the robots.

1 ReplyOnly if Asimov's Laws are implemented.

That's hella scary.

1 ReplyStar Trek The Original Series. Season 2. Episode 24.
it would be a bad idea
Nope. Matrix and iRobot say differently.

Sadly, I believe one person having all may be more efficient from a quantitative perspective than all people sharing equal. Less risk, faster decision making, better predictability, easier localization etc. Also, you should change your title to hypothetical, not theoretical. Two very different things.

I'd say no, mainly because everyone has a price. No matter how impartial a person programs it, someone can be paid to reprogram or sabotage it in general.
