Who else never bothered to get an exotic sword?
I can't be the only one. Don't like swords and I don't feel like spending the hours finding the materials for the one part.
EDIT: Are there any shortcuts to do the two others if I actually manage to get one?
Update: After reading some helpful tips from the community, I managed to gather the rare materials I needed to complete that step in an hour, so today I'll get to run the strike and get my raze lighter and try it out.
Update 2: I got the raze-lighter! Used it while running relic on Oryx last night to take out the vessel...it's pretty beast. Once mayhem rolls around again I'll probably work on the ability kills for the others.

Never even attempted to get it my logic was why use an exotic slot on a sword that can't always be used to it's fullest potential

I waited a really long time I got a hunter to run around with me with his tracker doesn't take long just go in between two different zones collecting

I didn't think I would like the swords but got them anyways... Absolutely love them. Worth a shot IMO

I havent. I just bought that one of the swords off the vendor and used it a couple of times.

Edited by Forever277: 6/15/2016 3:21:41 AMMost of the bounty stacks, have both other swords in your inventory and the quest advances on all of them I did all 3 at once The pvp part stacks The 500 enemies and 50 majors stacks The final part with killing alak hul stacks (If you have a good team you can kill the three knights and him in 30sec and finish all 3 at once) Only the ability kills and mat farming don't stack Also, I didnt get them til February or March because I think they're kind of lame. I never even used the arc or solar swords and i only used the void one for 1 strike Seriously, check my pvp stats, i have like 30 ish sword kills but i have all 3 exotic swords Done Individually I should have 75+

I'll simplify it like this: With a sword fully maxed out you can breeze through adds and majors as though you were using the barrel of a pre-nerf Gjally as a blunt object to bash through their skulls. It is definitely worth the time and effort.

If you move all the swords to one character you only have to do the first few steps once. Then after you infuse the swords to 280 and fully upgrade them they will unlock all 3 exotic quests where you farm the appropriate planetary materials.

Do the swords on the same character, eliminates the crucible portion.

Your shortcut is to do 1 on a character that can easily do all 3 elemental kills(void is very hard on a titan). Then put the next legendary sword on that same character and level it past 290 light,get quest,skip PvP part and go straight into material farming.

The only shitty part is the Crucible kills. The rest is super easy.

I haven't even finished taken king quest. Now they've nerfed my favorite game away. I dunno what to do at this point

I only farmed when I was doing patrols. Took me weeks, maybe a month to obtain the material for all three. Then I ran the main mission twice to get them. Imo the only one I like is the bolt caster, the other two aren't worth swapping out a heavy weapon.

I never got swords or touch of malice. I despise running around looking for and collecting stuff. I hate it so much I won't do it. No calcium fragments or materials. I don't think it's fun I don't enjoy doing it and I don't find the rewards worth me volunteering to do something I hate for a video game

Is this a post asking for help? I'm down to help you burn down some of the steps, especially the Strike or even PvP. K/D means nothing to me so I can either feed you a kill in Rumble or weaken the other teams so you can hilt smash them. Tracking on my Hunter for mats if you need that too. I'm pretty much done with everything but Grimoire until RoI anyways.
