Who else never bothered to get an exotic sword?
I can't be the only one. Don't like swords and I don't feel like spending the hours finding the materials for the one part.
EDIT: Are there any shortcuts to do the two others if I actually manage to get one?
Update: After reading some helpful tips from the community, I managed to gather the rare materials I needed to complete that step in an hour, so today I'll get to run the strike and get my raze lighter and try it out.
Update 2: I got the raze-lighter! Used it while running relic on Oryx last night to take out the vessel...it's pretty beast. Once mayhem rolls around again I'll probably work on the ability kills for the others.

The ability kills are the big thing, but can easily be done in 50 minutes of mayhem games if you're skilled. The material grind only really takes an hour or and hour in a half if you're without a material ghost. I didn't personally wanna do it but I collect so I did it

1 ReplyGood. The less people who know about Raze-Lighter, the better. Knowing Bungie, they'll probably nerf that next if enough people are talking about it.

I got all three, did them all on my Warlock so the ability kills would be easy. Not sure if Bungo fixed the shortcut for the second and third sword. You could give the 2nd and 3rd legendary sword to the char that did the first sword. When that character was in possession of the 2nd or 3rd sword and levelled it up, the quest switched to that char and missed out the crucible and another part of the quest. I think you still have to do the materials and ability kill though. Not a great explanation sorry, rushing at dinner.

Wow your missing out on the one of the best pve heavy totally worth the little bit of farming get the solar first

I'd wait till roi to get them because you'll get higher light on them I did it with the ToM got it at 325 then infused it into my smite of merain I still haven't gotten the swords tho

I got my 2 sword last week. Picked up the arc sword and after uppgrading it the quest went straight to the gathering part. So it's skipping the sword kills in crucible and stuff

Wow - I didn't even know this was a thing. Farming aside- why would you not want the swords..... Bolt caster and Raze lighter are 2 of the most powerful weapons in the game. I always carry raze lighter - just way too powerful not to have around. If you are struggling with the grind - I empathise but seriously you need to persevere.

3 RepliesDidn't bother until recently, did the solar and void on my titan, still need crucible kills for arc on my hunter. I would recommend the grind, the swords are fun and each is useful for different things.

Edited by Rebbelleous: 6/15/2016 8:00:54 AMTook about 2 hrs for the spin metal 1 on earth. Just move to a different area after you find 1. And use a spinmetal detector ghost and such. Also go to the larger areas so you can just race around on your bike. I picked up missions to fill in the time. Find the target pays best. Also clash speeds up supers so easier to get arc/void/fire kills.

I strongly recommend getting at least that one and just going to town with it and some ruin wings. If anything was a year 2 Gally, that would be it.
