So why is matchmaking for raids not available yet. You could adjust difficulty as well as loot drops to compensate for matching scrubs. I don't have time to constantly be checking my phone app nor do I want to waste more time having people dropout because it's taking too long to find teammates. The fact this hasn't already been done is pretty disappointing considering it's been something many people in the community have expressed wanting since the vault of glass dropped. Bungie has always expressed an interest in their community since the days of halo but it never seems like they actually do anything the people actually want.

Before reading this post, I literally read a post 10 min prior about someone who "pulled" his fireteam through a heroic strike and received hate messages. This community is not ready for raid matchmaking. Raids require mics, communication and to some degree effort. If you're not competent enough or are that lazy to use an app to look for a fireteam then........you guys can fill in the blank

Most people dont want raid matchmaking. It would be a disaster

2 RepliesEdited by OdinsKnight101: 5/21/2016 8:26:49 AMWell Croata first of all is a strike. Now onto the issue of raid matchmaking, I think no because a raid takes teamwork and communication. Just being Able to be match made with anyone would be the worst idea. How do I put this? Right now we have matchmaking for heroic strikes yes? Ok that's fine everyone can do these strikes, but the one problem I am facing is, more often than not these people I am match made with....are In fact 'excuse my French' complete blueberry's. It just feels like I'm carrying most people though them because They are too lazy to use their supers or abilities. I'm surprised if I see anyone use anything other than their guns. I could go on but you get the gist of it. I know that maybe people will take the raid a bit more seriously but I just don't see it. The only thing we should really ask for is, war frames in game messaging system. That is what we need.

1 ReplyArgument: Matchmaking won't work for Destiny endgame activities, because they are difficult and require coordination. Reality: Nightfall Strike and Challenge of the Elders both can practically be soloed, so why don't they have matchmaking? It's not about logistics, it's about "you have to play my game the way I tell you to play it".

1 ReplyWell I might be a bit late on this but I started playing the game about a week ago so my light level is 150 ish and I go to the tower and everyone is level 40 I'm not complaining but if they had a matchmaking system it would discourage newer players and make the matchmaking grueling if it was a light level based. But what do I know.

Matchmaking is not available yet because bungie hopes that people such as yourself especially if you don't like lfg will try to recruit some friends to buy the game.

4 RepliesI have the problem of not being able to get my team mates together often if at all, HOWEVER, I would not wish Raid match making upon anyone. I have dealt with random LFG people being added to a group of myself and my friends and personally for me, it was always horrible. We ended up with people who were wasted, jerks, people who were full of themselves, yet were incompetent, we got people who claimed to know what they were doing, but in reality didn't, and people who were "too good" to game with us. That's just from LFG... now if you had an entire raid team that was basically match made, prepare for chaos and bashing of heads. Raid fireteams should be a group of people who you know you can mesh-well with. It really is the make or break of actually enjoying a Raid instead of just getting through it. There are also lot of times I wish that strikes had the option of NO matchmaking, that way people who want to farm strikes can do such without abandoning others at the beginning or mid-strike. There's something I'm sure you'd get in a Raid matchmaking as well, people coming and going. That happened a lot with the LFG people we ended up with as well. You'd be getting a hell of a lot more frustrated with people coming in and out like a revolving door than just waiting for a dependable person you know you're capable of raiding with.

2 RepliesYes!!!

I could see where this could be useful but then again it could be bad say you get into a raid everything is going good you get past the first part no problem you realize wow this is going well these people aren't dumbasses then bam contacting destiny servers you get kicked from the game and those people aren't on your friends list so you can't join back and say one of them is but oh wait matchmaking you have already been replaced.... damn no good

1 ReplyI think a big problem would be checkpoints and how that would work.

1 ReplyNo, 1. People are stupid. 2. People are extremely stupid. 3. What number 2. Said. 4. Just no.

1 ReplyBefore I started getting into the raid I would have agreed. But now that I've been in a raid group for a couple of months, I would say no thanks. I guess it's ok if Bungie wants to make it available, but I won't use it. I'm going to try to put together a regular raid group instead. Raid matchmaking will result a great deal of player dissatisfaction, in my opinion. I think players would stop using it fairly quickly, once they have a bad raid experience. Bungie should dedicate resources somewhere else.

What's challenge for this week

No thanks

I still can't undestand why there are people against matchmaking in raids and other game modes. You would be able to play with your friends inviting them to your fireteam as usual. The party leader could just set the fireteam as private and no "random" players could join your game. Players will continue to use LFG sites to compensate this issue, finding randoms and getting frustated with bad players/trolls OR meeting nice people and adding them to their friendlist and then making private matches. There is no reason to prohibit the implementation of matchmaking.

we wish but bunge said numerous times we will not add any lfg system in destiny
-
Yes!!! raid and all other non-matchmaking modes need to be optional matchmaking of similar light levels. Grouped roughly like 300-310, 310-320 and so on.

Edited by Galaxyfarer: 5/19/2016 2:08:04 PMI agree with the idea but it should be as an option only. It will give everybody an equal chance to know what and how a raid is. Thanks to the April Update, i have a chance to join the raid because people only want to have guys with high light level to play with. Pretty sad but it's true. But in order to go through the raid without a lot of frustration it depends how people communicates to each other. I was in many different groups and my experience was 50/50 chance to meet a nice and efficient team. There must be at least 1 person who knows what to do. In order for matchmaking to work, I propose that Bungie find a mechanism where at least one persons who finishes the raid from A to Z to be in the team. So he could be a sherpa. The loot reward for the sherpa will be higher than the rest since he acted as a fireteam leader. He could earn this leader badge from Raid Master in the Tower (hope there will be one). This distinction as Raid Sherpa will honor him by helping out peoples to play Raid. Bad experiences that i encountered in Raid when doing LFG 1) Kids ...yes the young kids keep talking non-stop about anything and not mature enough to keep their language at an acceptable level. They even called each other with names like "Vag*na mouth" ...You should be ashamed of yourselves, kids. Please allow Raid Sherpa a right to mute them in matchmaking 2) Exploding tempered. Yes, this pretty much destroyed the team. The guy kept swearing and blaming everyone when we failed to kill the boss. Don't even offer a solution. Raid Sherpa could warn and boot him if needed. 3) No mic. How could we do a raid without talking. Personally i don't like to talk a lot in raid but at least we could coordinate by listening to each other. 4) Quick quitter. Yes....people just leave without saying goodbye. Please have a Raid rating to punish these guys. How you know it's a quitter ? he is still in Destiny and play other activity. Well if he puts his status as offline....thin chance to know. Anyway, i talked a lot but in summary, yes agree to have matchmaking but need to have a fireteam leader as a Raid Sherpa honored by a Raid Master in the Tower. We could also rate the Raid Sherpa so that we won't meet the fake or ugly Raid Sherpa. The more successful raids completed with helping, the more Raid Sherpa got honor - a glowing helmet on his head !

I love the game but I'm wasting my valuable time searching for a group on this app. I can't do it anymore. I immersed myself in this game and it sucks that because I have such a hard time finding a group I'm probably going to quit. I'll hold off on destiny 2 as well if it's going to be more of the same. Bungo fail..

1 ReplyI agree with you as well. I played the beta, brought it at launch with the pass, then purchased the legendary edition when TTK came out then purchased it for my Xbox One as well. After all that, I'll probably be getting rid of Destiny simply because I don't have friends who play. None on my fl even want to play the raid. I'll add people for help and then when I'm ready, they don't want to play. It's tiring. It's sad I can't fully enjoy a game I payed for simply because I don't have friends who want to do the raid. It's not my fault i grinded as much as I could and couldn't get to the light level most wanted you at for the raid until after everyone was burned out on it. I love this game but what use is keeping it if I can't do the things I want to.

Absolutely, but there would need to be a lot of filters to ensure that teams are aligned properly. I like the light level idea. Maybe even a grimoire score or number of completions compatibility filter. They should make an ELO sort of rating based on raid, strikes, and story completions. Along with level, light level and grimoire score. Of course there would be more variable, but this would allow for better matchmaking in PVE.

Agreed it's needed even though I am in a clan they never want to do one

3 RepliesI, for one, agree with you. This should be a thing. However, it is a thing where some people who have never done the raid get put in with a group who has, will not want to raid because of new people making newbie mistakes.
