I accept it. I have only gone to the lighthouse once and that was in year 1. I have yet to go flawless in year 2. In year one, I got extremely mad. I was annoyed and fed up with Trials and PVP itself. I didn't want to do it and thought I'd never go to the lighthouse no matter how hard I tried. But, on the LAST week of Trials just before taken king, we went flawless. I was so happy. I got myself up and I helped my team more and stopped being such a nuisance. I figured out my play style and stuck with it. Now, I'm trying to adapt and play with all 3 classes.
The point I'm making is, keep trying. You'll eventually make it. But practice. Don't just go into trials and expect to go flawless. You have to be prepared for any type of team. You think you DESERVE to go flawless?
You don't
Nobody deserves to go to the lighthouse unless you work hard, focus and understand why you're in those matches. You and your team must make it happen. Don't whine and complain. Your flawless run will come in time.
As long as you haven't given up yet
And for those thinking that you should get a free run. Those who feel like bungie should make it easier.
GIT GUD
EDIT: I also forgot to mention that I have a lazy eye. It's not major (you can't really see it when your right in front of me), but it does affect me. I can't snipe. One slight shift of my eye and I completely miss my target. With today's mehta, being snipers EVERWHERE, I can't adapt on that sense. Sure I'll be lucky enough to make my shots, but even without my lazy eye getting in the way, I still miss most shots. I guess I have too much on my mind when I'm sniping or I might be too nervous. One of the two. But I stick with shotguns and fusion rifles. I just learned that I'm comfortable with blade dancer. So I'll be running that for a while. If I can get to the lighthouse...... so can you.

Sniping for me is something I've learned to really not rely on. There are days I'm great, days I'm alright and other days where I'll use all my ammo and get lucky if I kill one guy. So I've tried using the mayhem games to get some practice in since ammo spawns much more frequent. I have found out though that I tend to be better with queen breaker. I think in part because I usually jerk the controller too much when I'm trying to snipe normally. But with that one my trigger is already down and I just have to aim.

I was never really competitive and played for fun with some friends. Maybe a few tryhard matches but that's it. When Destiny came out, I loved it. A game which I can be fully part of from the start. After finishing the "story" I gave crucible a shot since I'll be here for a long time. First game, had a positive k/d but game after game it happened. I looked straight into the void of salt and the void stared back at me. I never knew how mad I could actually get when I came across a top tier pvp player. Sure I have seen videos of people getting kill streaks and mlg plays but I was now the person getting killed by the mlg XxScrubDestroyerXx. So instead of improving I always had 1.0 k/d ratio. Between the middle of DB and HoW I decided to look up tutorials. From how to snipe to how to use hands properly, I learned. Sadly it was too late. I had gathered so many kills and deaths to a point where the only way to "git gud" was not to die. You know already that's impossible for someone like me. Now I've managed to get a 1.2k/d and even got to go flawless a few times through the 3 seasons of trials. Now I'm aiming to get 1.3 k/d by starting of with rift.
Well that's me spewing out my story for 10mins. Have a great day everyone.
Just get used to one class to start out with, picking up on tactics other classes use when you're playing will help you get better on those classes but to really hone in on your gunplay, stick to one class for a bit and get better with your weapon. Jumping around from character to character gets frustrating and you can't concentrate on your gunfights at much if you're worried about which super to use all the time.

I just go on twitch to go flawless (yes I'm a desperate scrub), but I'm good, it's sometimes my team is bad, but if it's not that, the tryhards that I get matched with. I only managed to go flawless 2 times without using twitch.

2 RepliesDude you have a 1.5 k/d. That's better than lots of popular youtubers
-
Ayyyyy! Theres a guy who doesnt whine about pvp and accepts that hes not the best. My respect.

Well congrats man. I suck at sniping to even though I don't have a lazy eye. I'd rather stick to my shotgun.

9 RepliesI've been working on getting better. As has my most regular playing partner. It's a long road, but other than a minor blip last week (every card, insanely good or sweaty teams right from game 1!) we are now good enough for 7 wins each week. We would get to 9 also just not flawless (we scrap card at 7 if we have a loss). So I think now if we got one really good playing partner, and a bit of luck with our opposition later on, I think we could do it. But we would definitely need luck to not get a team totally out of our league early in the run. I've been flawless Y2, but I can't wait for my playing partner to get there for the first time. He's put the time in, tries his best and has improved tonnes since he started. If that kind of person doesn't deserve at least one trip to the lighthouse I don't know who does. Sure we aren't as good as some, but we smash a lot of people who wear flawless / scarab emblems. Anyway. I agree OP. Perseverance is key. And if it stops being fun, stop.

So motivational... No. Not really. Sorry. I'd like to get better but idc really. I'll play with whatever seems fun.

16 RepliesBy chance, was this post made in response to a sniveling twit demanding Trials matchmaking be made "fair"? Cause I agree with you, sir. And I might have ruffled that two's jimmies a fair bit trying to enlighten him upon his entitlement. Ah well. PS:I'm absolutely crap at PvP imo, and I'm definitely trash in trials XD
-
No, no, no... I should be the one writing this post. Your titan has a trials kd of 1.3(didnt check the others).. that's pretty dang good! Mine is way worse and i have to the lighthouse a grand total of one time. I love trials but usually gset stuck at 3-5wins. Or as i say the 5win skill wall.. i whack into it hard!

4 RepliesEdited by kezsa: 5/11/2016 11:12:37 AMCheck your teams stats on trials report. Don't let them bring you down looking for a free carry. Play as a team give callouts and try over and over and over. Take it from someone that has been flawless 21 times. Also Sunday night seems to be the easiest time to run trials.

4 RepliesI got lag switched when I went 9-0 and wa sent back to orbit. Looked at my card 8-1. Other two guys I was with went to the light house. I didn't. Though I believe *sigh* they should earn there way to the lighthouse, I know I know... I think I'm finally going to admit that I do in fact need carried. Or atleast have a team of elitists like I did in year one. I prefer a team that knows each others skill and reactions with something good or bad happens. My issue with team I work together with, either do package then there gone, are always taking 15-20min breaks during a good streak, or down tight suckass. Now I'm not saying I'm good either, God no. But I know better then to walk down a sniper ally and the other team is all aiming at your head and my guys and trying to rush with shottys, like bruh. You can't be that damn dumb.
