334 drops at 335
Title. [b]I tried looking around and couldn't find anyone else posting about this[/b], but based off of the content that was shown during the streams, and the weekly updates, I was under the impression that once a player reached a Light of 335 that their drops would reflect that as well. Being that all drops are supposedly dropping at/or above your Light getting 334 items from activities and engrams seemed very weird to me.
Is this as intended for the current system, and if so why is it also applied to exotic engrams? I would appreciate a response, as I'm not sure how to take this- seems like artificial difficulty that's intended to extend the grind.

1 ReplyIs this ever going to be fixed? It seems a bit ridiculous, I've not had a single 335 drop since getting 335 I've actually started playing everything and decrypting engrams at 334 again because I get no decent loot otherwise...

2 RepliesHi Cosmo, 100% verified again this week that lowering your light does not fix the problem. When do we expect to see this patched? Once again my weekly crucible and POE drops were mostly 334 rubbish. Clearly you have a variation of the forever 334 problem here you need to address (once you are 335 in once config you will forever get mostly 334 stuff). There's only so many weeks I want to be running POE and weekly crucible and getting mostly 334s that don't help my characters out in any way.

Nothing in the game requires 335 anyway. With that being said......if someone is maxed out then there should be no reason not to hand out 335 drops. I think it has to do with not passing the 335 items to other classes.......they'll prolong the grind as long as they can.

2 RepliesThe difference between 334 and 335 is 0,3%. There is no way to even measure that difference in attack or defense value in game. So don't worry about never getting to 335. Once you get to 335 they will up it to 350.

This is just plain dumb. I decrypted 6 exotic engrams at light level 335 and they all became 334's. Last night, I put my light level at 334 and the 2 exotic engrams I had, decrypted at 335. The contempt I have for Bungie continues to grow.

I think the reason is so 335 still has some value. I think they made it too easy to level up to 335 so getting 334 gear keeps the RNG element alive. I'm not going to lie, I was pretty annoyed when I first got 334, but once I gathered up a stockpile of 335 gear I see why they did it. I'd vote to keep it the same.

so add to the mix all i get are arms, legs, helmets and class items never every chest plates. at 335 i get 334 / at 334 i get 333 bungie stated you would get 335 when you light was 335 does bungie care !

21 RepliesIt's called grinding. If every single exotics you decrypt turns out to be 335 what's the fun in grinding? I have been stuck with gauntlets for a week now. Both titan and warlock are 334 and I need gauntlets at 335 but I haven't been getting them. I'm not mad about it because if you got all drops to be 335 there will be no fun. So stop complaining and continue grinding. That's what the end game is all about. Once you hit 334 then whatever you decrypt will be either 334 or 335.

12 RepliesWhat's driving me nuts is that 1 out of 10 things that CAN drop at 335 does and the other 9 are 334... And if it's something I actually need like another heavy to get my third sword to 335, gauntlets to get my Titan to 335, or a cloak to get my hunter's fourth cloak to 335, it will ALWAYS be 334. If it's something I don't actually need, 335. Every. Damn. Time.

I think current light level upgrade system is fastest ever. You can not say like "forever 29" or 334 now after april update. There are so many ways to become maximum level now. Be happy about this fact.

I drop my level to 333 when picking up drops. Seems to be the best for 335 gear. There's still a chance it'll drop at 334 though, it really is a cursed number.

Yup its true it was never guaranteed. Besides its a hand full if times and you will get it sooner than most others. Although I understand as I am constantly getting equal light drops and that kind of blows too.

This needs to be addressed asap. While this is the best loot system we've had in a while it's absolutely retarded to reach 335 on one character(actually on all 3) and still receive 334 gear. I'm running end game content for legendary marks instead of infusion fuel. HotFix this problem ASAP!

2 RepliesI'm no where near 335 but I understand where you're coming from. Until they fix this couldn't you just hold on to your 335 gear and equip the 334 gear to lower your light and just cycle it out so as to increase your chance of 335 gear? I'm just thinking out loud but that might help until they address it properly.
