Bungie, PLEASE for the love of God and all that you hold dear, fix the freaking lag in the crucible!! This game has been out for nearly 20 months and you still haven't figured out a way to make this better.
I played about 15 IB matches last night and atleast half were plagued with red bar teleporting tanks who were throwing phantom grenades. I love this game but this issue really sucks the fun out of the whole experience.
What do we players have to do to encourage you to do something?? Obviously this ridiculous "damage referee" you were bragging about does nothing.
If people go red bar in the game they should be timed out until they go green again. Simple.
Please fix this.
Edit: I have FiOS 100/100 Internet with less than 10 ping and it's hard wired. If you think it's me that's somehow causing others to be red bar while I remain green, I'm just going to mute you. I created this post to see if Bungie will respond. Not to hear the Bungie Defense Force bullshit response.
Don't waste your time.

Make sure you report people that red bar for a bad connection, that's what I do. If they are constantly getting reported for a bad connection surely Bungie will then do something.

1 ReplyPlayed for 2 1/2 days. about 90% of the time most of us were green bars.. Lag seems to be slowing going away
-
4 RepliesToo me in the beginning there wasn't much problem with lag. What I don't get is how the servers get worse as time goes on, doesn't make any sense.
-
I don't know... Day one player with 2000 hours and 1200+ ToO games. I upgraded my connection 2 months ago from 7 to 14/20 (not stable) and now seems another game. 0_0

1 ReplyIt would help if people didn't use a potato for a router but even then I've seen games where everyone was green bar but shots didn't register and they still glitch/blink around after killing me. I think all red bars should be stuck fighting each other so they know what it's feels like, plus the recordings would be hilarious to watch.

Well, there's a reason why we can incorporate the same character for pve and pvp events. Also, a dedicated server for matchmaking will not allow us to carry over these characters from the pve side. With Destiny 2, Bungie may have a separation in store for us where we'll get our dedicated servers and 60 fps pvp side then our open world, graphical specter for pve. We can hope at least.

I have 800 mbps up and down, with 1> ms ping, and Destiny is the only game I have major lag issues in. My connection is fine, yet Destiny is singled out for connection issues out of all of my games. If only one game has connection issues, it's pretty obvious to tell what the issue is caused by. 2 RepliesEdited by Sage 13: 4/30/2016 12:30:34 AMFunny how when I play other games online or stream or watch something, I have no problem with my connection. As soon as I start playing Destiny I start noticing the lag, and I manage to get error codes, which Bungie swears is on my end since they're nice enough to tell me to check my connection.
-
2 RepliesDude it's not so simple. I sometimes red bar and I have a super fast connection. It's SBMM that is causing it. Not just bad internet speeds so they can't just bam ppl when it's their fault
-
2 RepliesI'm with you op! I'm getting fed up with the shit that takes place in destiny pvp. It's the only game I've played online with so many laggers. Not sure why I keep playing.
-
I'm up for SMBB if we get dedicated servers instead of P2P....that's what -blam!-ing everything over.
-
NOPE, Bungie's backwards ass logic says skill based matchmaking is far more important than connection based. Oh well, can't reason with a bunch of retards.
-
2 RepliesLol people bitch about lag all the time, saying that it's every game or every other game and yet they still keep coming back. Welcome to life, get over it or move on
-
Couldn't agree with ya more. Pretty ridiculous the game has been out this long and still all these issues aren't resolved.
-
Bump! I agree!! 3 headshots and no kill and or folks glitching around the map and ect ect!!!
-
4 RepliesI'm having the same problem and I have great internet it's like damage referee is punishing me instead of the players lagging
-
1 ReplyThey should make it connection AND skill based matchmaking. Green Good players fight Green good players, Green bad players face green bad players, and so on.
-
2 RepliesYes, I posted about this as well earlier as I got so frustrated that so many of my shots just didn't register, although they were clearly on target!! Funny enough, I played a game of normal clash earlier and the lag was much less... It's the banner man, it's cursed!!
-
It's not Bungie, it's your shitty connection.
-
Just sit and wait. No need to ask the King.
-
1 ReplyI don't find them so bad, i suppose since i've been playing FPS's for a long time, i know how to handle them and what to expect and all. Personally, i laugh more then anything when it happens.

2 RepliesSBMM is back

19 RepliesEdited by Kwisatz Haderach: 4/28/2016 10:31:03 PMBungie has fixed the lag. It has installed penalties to people with packet loss and latency issues on their internet. Basically if you have bad internet you will lose most head to head firefights and yes it may look like everyone is shooting you through walls etc. Thats not lag. Its not them. Its you. Bungie wont let bad internet ruin their crucible anymore. YES even if you have a large bandwidth connection.... you think..... it may be much smaller at certain times of day and also how your I.P. is routed, packet loss, and latency could make your large I.P. connection a bad connection. edit.## btw most ISPs i.e. internet companies will throttle down your internet if you have too much usage or at certain times of the day. IF your ISP does this it will RUIN YOUR CONNECTION. Period point blank. I worked at comcast. They sabotage their own customers all the time. Internet traffic, internet pipes as it were.... are a resource and do get full.... long haul.... or residential to the hub ...collo facility.... your ISP will help itself by shutting your flow down and not think twice. and most of the time you wont even notice it happens.... unless of course you are playing crucible and everyone starts going red bar. And bungie has installed protocols to inhibit your success against others. No I am not trolling or joking, its fact.
