I dunno. Metal just is not what it used to be imo.
We lost the last great metal band in the early 2000's when Pantera stopped making albums and then Dimebag got killed.
RIP Dimebag (And real metal) 1966 - 2004. Assassinated on stage while doing what he loved.

You say that Metal is not what it used to be, but then list Pantera as the last great metal band?
-
Please name one metal band that has come since Pantera that could break up for decades and still be relevant. They have not made an album in ages yet all the young little kiddies, still on momma's milk and think they know what metal is all about, know their songs. All their favorite bands are still using their clicky sounding drum kicking and high gain low tuned guitar sounds to this very day. Not a single metal act that has come out since Pantera can even hold a candle to their accomplishments and their influence on the metal genre. If Pantera were to get back together, even without Dime, bet your ass they would sell out stadiums. Bands like Slayer would kill to open for that show. I could go on for days about how much better Pantera is than any newer band in the genre but I don't have time for that shit.

Edited by MGB: 4/28/2016 12:21:33 AM
Please name one metal band that has come since Pantera that could break up for decades and still be relevant.
Pantera never was, and never will be "relevant". They have never, and will never in their lifetime change the history or future of metal.
They have not made an album in ages yet all the young little kiddies, still on momma's milk and think they know what metal is all about, know their songs.
I will bet my house that most people do not know who Pantera are.
All their favorite bands are still using their clicky sounding drum kicking and high gain low tuned guitar sounds to this very day.
Pantera's sound was not unique or exclusive to Pantera. If you for one minute believe that Pantera's sound was original then you are mistaken, and heavily biased. Pantera were bland, middle of the road, and except for one song, forgettable.
Not a single metal act that has come out since Pantera can even hold a candle to their accomplishments and their influence on the metal genre.
What accomplishments, and what influence did they have on the metal genre? That'd be new. Who is slayer by the way?
I could go on for days about how much better Pantera is than any newer band in the genre but I don't have time for that shit.
So you're saying there hasn't been a better metal band since Pantera out of the several styles of metal since the early 2000's? I think thousands, if not millions of people would disagree with you. You seem to be on some personal biased mission for a band that most people would agree was bland, and none influential. Either way, it is obvious you have no real clue about "metal". Then again, maybe Pantera was influential to the kerrang fan era of everybody-sounds-the-same-but-we're-all-so-obviously-unique-and-hardcore which was the late 90's to early 2000's "mainsteam" (aka shit metal) metal. In the grand scheme of things, Pantera were a tiny little spec in the vast world that is metal. Past, present, and future.

I kinda liked pantera
-
You really not know who slayer is?
-
Edited by MGB: 4/28/2016 8:41:41 PMOf course I do, I was merely insinuating that Slayer is just as much a non-memorable band as Pantera was.
-
Wow slayer not memorable are you kidding me How about you give an example if one of the big four (should be 5) are not memorable. I'm really curious as to where your mind is at.
-
Pantera's worse songs are better than anything any of the bands you listen to could ever dream of creating. You have no real argument here.

Black Sabbath Iron Maiden Judas Priest Heaven and Hell Savage Savatage Venom Motorhead Saxon Diamond Head Angel Witch Metallica Raven Orchid Sheavy Uncle Acid and the Deadbeats Grim Reaper Witchfinder General That is just a small sample of the bands I listen to, I would safely say that they created far better songs than Pantera ever did, or ever will.
-
Lol. Now you know the name of some bands? You are a joke bro. Go figure, most are no name bands that could never in a million years sell as many records as Pantera. Get fookt bro. You know absolutely nothing. I hope it always burns when you pee and your kids never learn to read.

-
Did not know there was a competition to win. MGB is 12 year old know it all confirmed.
-
Edited by MGB: 4/28/2016 9:26:08 PMYou said you were done, why are you still responding to me? Oh, it's probably the same reason you keep claiming you're muting people only to keep replying to them. Just let it go, we have different opinions, and you go all internet tough guy keyboard warrior on people because they don't agree with you or don't respond to you the way you would like. It's funny for a while, but then it just gets a little sad. It's nice that you stick up for one of your favorite bands, though.
-
holy shit you really are delusional. I am just going to go ahead and mute you dude cause you have absolutely no idea wtf you are talking about. The fact that you are likely 12 years old and know who these bands are completely negates everything you try to say.
-
Edited by MGB: 4/28/2016 9:06:45 PMI thought you said you was going to mute me?
-
Oh look, yet another common response to someone that has a different opinion than them. If you can't handle facts, or a different opinion, then maybe you should just not post anything about anything.
-
I think it is you who is unable to handle the facts. Every metal act and musician from the 60's when Black Sabbath started till now would place them in the top 5 of all time. There is also this thing called the internet where if you do a search for the best metal bands of all time you will see Slayer, Pantera, Megadeath and many more of the like that I am sure you don't know of either. Google: https://www.google.com/#q=top+metal+bands+of+all+time Rolling Stone readers poll places Pantera number 3 in the top 10 metal bands all time http://www.rollingstone.com/music/pictures/readers-poll-the-top-10-metal-bands-of-all-time-20111102/9-pantera-0971975 Number 3 by loudwire http://loudwire.com/best-american-metal-bands/ You should really try to know a little bit about what you are talking about before trying to argue a subject.
-
Fūcking thank you. Anyone claiming to know metal, then asking who Slayer is is clearly off their rocker.
-
Obviously

bad troll is bad beeotch

Edited by MGB: 4/28/2016 10:38:58 AM
bad troll is bad beeotch
You think I'm trolling? Wow... I guess when you can't argue with what someone says, you have to default to calling them a troll. Such a common outcome to differing of opinions and facts for millions of internet users a day.
-
Tell me you at least know the other 3 of the big 4
-
Other 3 of the big 4? Are you claiming that Pantera is one of the top 4 metal bands of all time?
