I see it on these forums all the time.
Person A: *says anything*
Person B (who disagrees but can't coherently articulate his feelings): Your KD sucks, kid.
That's not how you argue, just saying.
EDIT: This game is hella casual. Who cares about KD in Destiny?
EDIT 2: FoMan123 gave a brilliant response. Check it out below. Also, we're trending.
EDIT 3: To those commenting on my K/D, which is admittedly negative, you have missed the point entirely. Bad stats in this game don't matter. Good stats don't matter. Only one thing matters: fun. This is not my opinion; this is the way the game was made. It was designed for and marketed to casual players. Anyone who treats it like, CSGO, per say, is delusional.

Agree but kids and tryhards loves to show how big their dick is on here. :/
-
People also use the "Low Grimoire" Argument.

Edited by DoomAmplified: 4/21/2016 8:04:46 AMI don't much care for my K/D because: 1. Laggers and poor support can often lead to a negative score. 2. While I play to stay alive, I choose to put myself at risk for strategic gain, such as taking down rift runners or the team tailing my rift runner. My titans kd is lower because it was my first character and when I started, I wasn't very good and had to learn and be more consistent. The K/D has no impact on whether I'm about to have a good game where I can damage people normally, or a terrible one where I can't kill anyone because of lag and end up with a pants score while (lagging country here) that I got matchmade with are unjustly celebrating, thinking they dominated.

3 RepliesOP's grimoire is only 3030 Opinion not valid Muted :-)
Sorry, couldn't resist it
-
My k/d would be better if I didn't screw around in crucible so much.
-
Umm that's how people are on all fps games....
-
My k/d sucks, kid. Git gud.
-
Don't usually bring kd into an argument unless said person says I suck
-
27 RepliesShould rename post to : Kids with shit stats should have no say in pvp as it doesn't matter what, when, where and how they use anything, they'll still suck.
-
And thats why i want a ranking style similar to halo 3 where its easier to gauge a person skill level, yea they could have been carried and boosted but its better than no ranks.
-
Honestly the people that call for nerfs are the ones with negative kd
-
My KD sucks, kid

I agree for the most part. My KD is barely over 1.0, but I still manage to get either overall mvp, or mvp of my team. Mostly because I make sure to play the objectives as much as possible. To me, that matters more then pure KD. But I can understand the sentiment when it comes to activeties like the trials where the goal is to go flawless, and you dont get there if you suck(unless you get carried, and in which case you dont deserve to use the emblem) However, the KD shaming has to stop. Its pointless and childish. Just because my KD isnt over 2 or 3 doesnt mean I dont know what Im taking about....
-
:) I don't care about KD. I'm a heavy Strike/Patrol player, so it doesn't phase me. The only time I PVP is once a week for the Treasure, when Mayhem is up and Iron Banner.
-
11 RepliesYou're just salty cause my Kd is better than yours kid.
-
Lol. I had a guy today tell me I was bad at the raid and tried to use my KD as his defense of his thoughts. Meanwhile he was sucking a fat one the whole time and couldn't understand the numbered plate strat at oryx. He only wanted to jump on his safety plate every time!!!! Scrub. And by the way I know my KD is bad. I'm ok with it!

I couldn't care less about my (and everyone else's for that matter) KD. I don't even know how to check it. I play games to relax and have good time. Am I a good player? In a lag free match yes I am. But when lag comes around I die a lot . The reason for this is that I am a very reactive player who likes to be close in the fray. The more lag there is the more in disadvantage I am. Should I care about KD when the game itself isn't even consistent in providing quality connections....and let's be honest this game is fun but it isn't anywhere near a competitive e-sports league or anything. Which is good this game is aimed at casuals who want to feel good about them self's (aim assist is the highest I have ever seen) which I am cool with. I do chuckle when people on here try to use their KD to improve their social status.
-
What if the argument is about who has the highest KD?
-
I find the frustration purely comes from the bigotry of shutting down someone just because of their KD. I posted venting about how annoying sunsinger teams are in trials, and i especially hate that they can self-res even at 3 skulls when imo the match should end IMMEDIATELY at 3. It's frustrating spending the time taking them down and then have them pop back up and spam grenades and win. But apparently i need to stfu coz i have a low KD. So how dare i play trials! Hahahaha ffs. It's a video game. I understand having skill preference, but instead of waving their KD around, they could get their dick out of their mouths and offer to either mentor the player, or just give advice. Im sorry that other people have jobs and families and school and cant become a sweaty fps gamer. I enjoy a good tournament but it does bother me that i may NEVER get to see the lighthouse. Why? Because im not some fps elitist? I can handle myself just fine, and i think itd be way more fun if people did their best but had fun too! Instead of ruining everyones games by quickscoping and mercy ruling team after team. Just chill and let people play. Help em out. All that good stuff. I realized that grinding away and being so concerned over a game is STUPID! Unless you make actual money off being really good, you gotta get a life! Wasting a few hours just to get a gun that doesnt physically exist? Or a KD ratio that cant do anything for me in the real world? "Hey hot chick! I have an awesome KD ratio in destiny!" "Yeah, what?". Im also going to comically assume that having a high KD instantly triggers the thought "you're probably a dick though". Hahaha

If someone is handing out crucible tips, and he has a KD of .7, I think it's acceptable to bring up the fact that he likely doesn't know what he's talking about.
-
I actually find medal score to be an accurate measure of experience. Experience in a lot of cases means skill. 1,000,000 score and up someone has a decent understanding of the crucible, movement, skills, the best strats.

Edited by Söleks the Alpha: 4/20/2016 4:55:21 PMNerf askers with a kd below 1.0 Those ppl that Shame others for using guns they like to use

8 RepliesI feel like k/d might have some weight to it, though. Obviously people with high k/d's and Elos have a great understanding of the game and how to play PVP effectively. Say for example: Player A - has a 0.64 k/d Player B - has a 2.2 k/d Player A mentions that *so and so gun* is overpowered and should be nerfed. Player B comes in and says that it's not. Whose opinion would you take more seriously?
-
Says the guy with shit K/D lmao
-
1 ReplyIf someone with a .6 kd says 'this is OP and needs nerfed' with 12 hours of playtime, I am going to laugh in their face. Sometimes, K/DR is relevant
-
People tend to bring that up when someone is calling for a major change to crucible and they are terrible at pvp. They don't deserve to change every other players crucible experience so they can get a few easy kills.
