I see it on these forums all the time.
Person A: *says anything*
Person B (who disagrees but can't coherently articulate his feelings): Your KD sucks, kid.
That's not how you argue, just saying.
EDIT: This game is hella casual. Who cares about KD in Destiny?
EDIT 2: FoMan123 gave a brilliant response. Check it out below. Also, we're trending.
EDIT 3: To those commenting on my K/D, which is admittedly negative, you have missed the point entirely. Bad stats in this game don't matter. Good stats don't matter. Only one thing matters: fun. This is not my opinion; this is the way the game was made. It was designed for and marketed to casual players. Anyone who treats it like, CSGO, per say, is delusional.

Agreed

5 RepliesFrom the looks of it you haven't played enough to make such claims, claiming the game is casual. I wish I could say this game is hella casual but about 90% of my games are super sweaty and competitive.
-
I will use kd argument against nerf posts because those kids sucks. Thank you, out
-
My KD is very indicative of my skill. I actually suck that bad
-
i fallow on what you are saying but it would nice not to lose on ever game that i play ever since TTK came out
-
11 RepliesI only judge ppl by their trials kd
-
2 RepliesCasual for you with that kd, I get nothing but try hards making it quite competitive I must say .
-
It's called credibility. Yeah K/D might not be an 100% accurate description of a persons skill but it's still gives you an idea of it. You're correct in saying it's pointless to bring it up in certain arguments but in regards to crucible talk/pvp it's a good thing to bring up. I mean this in no offense but I won't find someone with a very negative K/D to be credible in certain situations.

If you guys like the video like/sub for more content coming soon
-
5 RepliesPeople say kd doesn't matter but when you need a trials team that's the first thing they ask for, a good kd
-
1 ReplyBump I go into the crucible when I just want legendary marks and try to dance with ppl it's very fun but reks my kd I don't give a damn :)
-
Agreed- It makes you sounds like a basement dwelling, emo POS. I just laugh at them. Destiny aint getting you no booty, so you can can have the KD aka THE LAME award, LOL

Not everyone plays this game for "fun", or rather, your definition of fun. "Fun" to other people may be derived from being competitive, winning matches, and playing well. People are within every right to dictate their purpose of playing the game regardless of how it is marketed. This is a common discussion when it comes to media. Who decides the purpose of the piece of media, the creator or the viewer? The answer is both, and while it may seem like an easy out, both perspectives are important to art.

3 RepliesI judge people by their winning percentage. I expect people to have a 1.1-1.5 kdr.

And some people just like to have fun in crucible and don't care about their kd. So they just mess around. I don't understand why people use kd to judge, not everyone has good games
-
8 RepliesMost people that use K/D in an argument just want to boast their stats.
-
Ummmmmm your k/d

Edited by darowing2: 4/21/2016 5:50:18 PMI got a kd of 180 in 20 min on a public server of an john carmack game. You suck all casual destiny no0bs Thats an argument. 180 180

Being good and having a high K/D often go together. Everytime that I end up losing my flawless streak, it's because I'm playing with people that end up having K/Ds under like 1.3 Whenever I do, they have a 1.3+
To be fair though, I haven't even attempted trials in a whiiiiiiile. I'm speaking from year 1. I did try once not too long ago though. My teammates had K/Ds below 1 and we got absolutely stomped. We only won like 2 matches and I had more kills than them both combined and multiplied by 2.
Edited by footshot747: 4/21/2016 5:46:44 PMFirst and foremost destiny is a video game. To be played for enjoyment. Regardless how skilled you are or how you play. Or what your stats look like. I have several excuses for why my kd used to be a .6 early in the game. I could care less. The only one that really matters is I HAD FUN. And im still having fun. Ignore the negativity and enjoy.
-
True but if this persons k.d is under 1.0 than that argument should be over right away
-
Edited by CobraMate: 4/21/2016 5:29:08 PMSome ppl like myself would rather fight than argue. So if ur all talk ill be like "how bout i just smack u in some pvp to shut ur ass up". Since i cant personally do it since we're on a game. Lol thats if ur talkin shit to me that is. Actions speak louder than words Now say, Peek a boo MF!

1 ReplyI'd have a way better kd, if I wasn't jumping off the map half of the time
-
3 RepliesEdited by TPoppaPuff: 4/21/2016 4:11:30 PMExcept stats can bore out motivations. If someone says boost shotguns, the noob friendliest guns in all of gaming, when many people are calling for a nerf, I can check his stats. If I see his stats and see that can't get a kill without a shotgun, I should let everyone know his argument and point out his motivation as they are not in the interest of the game but rather self-preservation. I mean, we can say that KD doesn't matter, and it's certainly not the be all, end all on the subject, but there's a reason devs bring in pro gamers. They are more likely to see the balance issues than any random schmuck with a poor KD. Just think about this: A game of Team Deathmatch is a game about killing the enemy more than they kill you. KD is a measurement of success in that TDM. If you were seeking legal advice, are you more likely to take the advice of a lawyer with a higher success rate, or a low success rate? If you were looking for a prospective hire are you more likely to go with someone with a strong resume or a weak resume?

*goes on forum to complain about a team of mida and snipers killing me as soon as i start playing* "yeah well your K.D sucks git gud scrub" yes. exactly my point. 3-6 members of an entire team shoot me at the same time from across the map, and my point is that my kill/death ratio. thank you for catching it
