So apparently there was a leak that indicates that God of War 4 is going to be based on Norse mythology and it's not clear but it'll either be Kratos or a viking warrior taking his place for the setting. What do you guys think? I for one..........am pissed. Sony is pulling a Microsoft with this series it looks like, and this isn't good. Kratos killed the gods, had his revenge, and (actual God of War 3 spoiler ahead)
killed himself
. Just let the series die. Kratos's story has been told and there's been 6 God of War games including the psp games. The most recent GoW game, God of War Ascension, was already underwhelming. Gears of War 4 has a better chance of refreshing the series with it's 4th installment and it also had an underwhelming prequel. God of War 4 needs to be scrapped. I highly doubt it will do well if it comes to light. Don't defile the name of this beloved franchise!

1 ReplyYeah sony will -blam!- this up like they -blam!- everything up. Sony is milking over rated franchises to keep there fan base and its getting Sad at this point

If it Norse, won't in be "Tyr" the Norse god of war?

17 RepliesI honestly thought God of War was trash. Very predictable and poor gameplay.

Pulling a Microsoft?

3 RepliesWhy do you care if they make a new one? It affects you in no way. You can choose not to buy it, and making new games doesn't ruin a franchise.

1 ReplyEdited by dova spook: 4/6/2016 4:41:27 AMIf Sony gives it a new protagonist, then I'll give it a shot. But Kratos's story should be done, anything afterwards would only cheapen the ending.
it was cheapened anyway, but even more so if he's in 4
I could see how it will roll over from Greek mythology to norse. It's actually not that bad of an idea. I will wait to pass any judgment.

6 RepliesGod of War Norse reboot would only be interesting if they left Kratos behind. Also, at the end of GoW3...
You see that Kratos in fact didn't die from his self inflicted wound, and crawled away. While he may have died from the wound later, by showing what they showed, the obvious implication is he is still alive.
I'm fine with something new labeled with the God of War logo. But like you said, the series as is has become tired. The first God of War was outstanding. II and III are right up there as well. But the PSP stuff and then Ascension showed that the franchise didn't really have legs beyond three entries.

Are drugs included
those who saw Max Payne the movie will know
I'm in it for Aphrodite

Norse mythology is so much cooler.

4 RepliesThere's actually evidence he survived the end of god of war 3. God of war is not coming out yearly so it's not pulling a "Microsoft" they're actually taking their time and making a good game.

1 ReplyWouldn't say no to a new God of War to be honest, it's an awesome franchise.
-
I don't see the issue, especially if we're getting a new setting and cast.

8 RepliesBut Sony's been pulling the milk train longer than MS...
