I'm 45. Am I too old to play? I've noticed my reflexes are slowing and I'm wondering if anyone *ahem* of a certain age has a similar problem?

41 and still gaming. The awesome thing about being "older" is that we saw this whole gaming thing happen. At 45, you might have owned your own 2600, I had my father's to play with when games were still being sold as new. Colecovision, Intellivision, Atari 5200 and 7800. NES came out when I was in elementary school. Then the SNES's, the PS's, TurboGrafix, Dreamcast,... we've played them all. The youth of today missed that bumpy ride, but they talk like they "know". They know nothing.

1 ReplyHell im 48. Never to old. Besides I raised gamers. Of course my son can kick ny ass in pvp.

50 here.

My dad plays (a lot) and he is 53, so no... You are never too old to play!
-
Never to old to play games. In a way it keeps the mind sharp. Hell if you play Xbox One I'd be more than happy to help you with a raid and other stuff
-
I know an age 60 grandma and her husband who play this game often. Age doesn't matter if you like the game.

44 ..

I'm 43 and I play, not as fast as I used to be. I try and play smarter and don't try and rely on reflexes as much.

Edited by Gambit: 3/28/2016 8:48:11 PMNot even remotely. 42 yrs. here. They will have to rip my controller from my dead cold hand. LOL I love gaming. Been doing it since my parents brought home our first Atari. I figure as long as family and responsibilities are taken care of, what does it matter. If you enjoy it, do it. My opinion, it keeps the mind active. Watching TV to me just does not stimulate my mind to me like gaming does; especially with todays programming. With gaming you always have to be thinking and reacting. At least with most games. (Destiny not so sure. LOL) Game on Guardian. Don't stop until you are ready, not what someone else says.
-
I'm 44 and still enjoying Destiny and many other games so...whatever that's worth to you. Age is just in the mind! (Well...and in the body too I guess. lol)
-
1 ReplyNope. If anything, it'll boost those reflexes. Studies have shown that gaming (FPS's in particular) increase reaction time, critical thinking, hand eye coordination, split second decision making, etc. It also increases your ability to reduce yourself to a teenage mentality (in some cases). Game it up, dude.
-
Nope. As log as you don't lose the rest of the life you've built to the game. Some of the kiddos in this community haven't built lives yet, so they have nothing to lose spending too much time on a game. Not that I'm knocking gaming as a youthful last time. As I've certainly put in my hours too.
