Free Update? My Friend Never Purchased TTK...
He was eager to play this [b]Free Update[/b].
He wouldn't stop going on and on about how awesome it is that Bungie would produce [b]free[/b] content of this caliber for its players.
That is...until he fully understood the terms. Now he keeps saying that the update is not free. I tried to explain to him that the update is [b]100% free[/b], But you just have to [b]purchase[/b] TTK.
He just doesn't seem to get it. The update is [b]free[/b], you just have to [b]buy[/b] something else to play it. It's that simple.

[b]Edit:[/b] Ok so I just thought that I would say, I don't actually have a friend that complains to me about this update. I was just poking fun at another thread where the OP was claiming that the update is completely 100% free and that we should stop complaining, because we paid $0 for it.
The reality of the situation is that this update is absolutely free, with your purchase of TTK.

I don't see how any of the players without ttk will even be able to use the new weapons with most probably being 40 light.

Taken King is basically the base game now. If you don't have TTK then you're already missing out on an enormous chunk of the game, so what do you need the April update for?

The update is free only because they didnt give us the full TTK experience, for those that bought it, and those who didnt buy TTK have to pay for that update. The whole community is getting ripped off again

It's not a free update to Destiny itself. It's a free update [b]for the expansion[/b]. You all should be -blam!-ing happy they aren't setting it up as $20 DLC like House of Wolves or The Dark Below, which are DLC's for the original Destiny. If you haven't bought TTK, too -blam!-ing bad for you. Don't play an MMO if you aren't going to buy the expansion. Goddamn, console players are retarded.

You guys throw around how it's free, without realizing that even if those without ttk got it without purchasing ttk they couldn't even launch it, as the light required to start the content is only attainable by playing ttk. So giving it to them would just be pointless. So they worded it as specifically as possible to head off the "THEY SAID IT WOULD BE FREE BUT I CANT PLAY IT WITHOUT BUYING OTHER CONTENT FIRST, BUNGIE YOU LIED TO ME" posts.
