You can't justify the legalization of weed.
Weed should never be legalized.

Arthritis and/or Parkinson's Cigarettes are scientifically proven to be worse than marijuana

Edited by pinkpanda: 3/25/2016 9:09:59 AMHonestly I did a lot of drugs back in the day, thankfully I'm clean now (6 years) but it's kind of surprising to me after doing a lot of different drugs how alcohol flies under the radar. Weed is a much safer drug than alcohol imo. Someone in my family is an alcoholic currently and if I could make them a stoner instead of an alcoholic I would do it in a heartbeat.

Make it legal, highly tax it. Tons of money is made!
-
Alcohol is legal and you can drink yourself to death in one sitting. You can smoke an ounce all at once and the worst that would happen is you will take a nice long nap after you get some grub
-
Pro tip, you're an idiot. "Prove my opinion wrong when I've ignorantly decided to never believe anyone but myself" To your post, weed shouldn't be legal why? Do you even know what it's illegal? It isn't because it's a "drug" or to "protect us". If that were the case, do you think cigarettes or alcohol would be legal? Weed was banned because it's a raw material that was going to replace paper which would've put a shitload of people out of business. I don't care for pot at all, never smoked it. Problem is, it has PLENTY of uses, one of which is fully replacing the need for cigarettes On top of serious medicinal uses and what ivstated previously, a cheaper alternative as a raw material. The only people that think it shouldn't be legalized are those that are brainwashed to -blam!- by media and government over the whole "gateway drug" bullshit, which is hilarious because alcohol is substantially more destructive but nobody gives a shit about that. Bottom line, legalize it and make it 21+ to buy and use, that should be anal enough for you.

19 RepliesEdited by CaptKrunch: 3/25/2016 12:47:18 AMIt has medical purposes. It's a huge potential industry. We can tax it. We spend less money putting people in jail for smoking a plant. It's not physically addictive. You can't overdose. It has more uses then just smoking (clothing) Me smoking doesn't effect you.

1 ReplyWell eating it helps calm my IBD. Not a fix for the problem, but i no longer get a chaffed or cracked asshole because of my uncontrollable liquid diareha. The only other "medicine" that gave the same effect was an opioid combined with a steroid... Which was really really bad for me

I'm guessing this is a bait post. Either way, the government shouldn't be so concerned what substances an adult consumes. Regulations are needed, certainly, as there are with alcohol and tobacco. But when people have a criminal record for possessing a harmless substance and when taxpayer money is wasted prosecuting them, how can you support that? Since you asked for one reason, probably the best is Colorado; use it as a case study.

2 RepliesFreedom. If you want total government control in the name of safety, I recommend North Korea.

Liberty.

Tobacco products and alcohol. That is all.

That shit makes white women have sex with black guys and it turns users nutty #KeepWeedIllegal

Edited by DarthBrando: 3/25/2016 10:00:45 AMYou can make fuel out of it in your back yard and run your car or household heating off of it------> it would make fuel nearly free+ we would no longer need foreign oil AT ALL

Looks like your pro tip is void. There are plenty of reasons mentioned below that are valid. Amateur.

1 ReplyWell since we consider ourselves a capitalist country, we technically would have a free market. Instead, we are slowly turning to socialism

Legal pain killers do 10 times more harm to you and are so much more addictive

Edited by CosmicMerauder: 3/24/2016 4:50:06 PMThe tax money and jobs it produces. Over $2,000,000 in Colorado state sales tax alone... Just in January!!!!! Forget about the medicinal benefits. It would reduce crime and prison rates. Improve tax income (which could go towards helping drug and alcohol dependants inturn lowering prison and crime rates aswell as improving health rates)
tilts hat and walks away
1 ReplyIt helps for seizures, pain, and appetite. It would also help America not have to spend so much money putting people would smoke/sell cannabis.

You'd decrease the incarcerated population drastically. Most people who are in jail are there for petty shit (small amount of weed, paraphernalia, ect.).
-
If it wasn't for a smear campaign in the 30s it would've never been made illegal.
-
Pros: tons of medicinal uses Entertainment purposes Cons: slightly addictive (but only for certain people) Only bad in large amounts Honestly, just putting a small regulation on it would take care of the cons
