Edit: Lots of posts asking why I'm posting.
Because I love what destiny could be, not what it is. I post to hold bungie management accountable. I post to remind them that their customers are not fools, and will leave if taken advantage of.
I post for you. Only a true friend will point out the dirt on your face. Sometimes you need the truth.
Yes my tone is frustrated, but so is much of the community. We were lied to, repeatedly. Bungie management, the mods, deej and cosmo all need to understand how dire the situation is.
Research shows that a franchise will fail if you alienate your day 1 players, your biggest fans, your "Golden cohort" as the research calls it.
These are the people who make destinylfg, steam destiny, post on sites like reddit, bring in new customers via rave reviews.
That's why I post. It's not too late to turn this ship around. Please, get it right.
If destiny is doing so well, why was Harold Ryan just fired?
Why did bungee lose a lawsuit for wrongful termination against Marty O'Donnell, one of the founders?
Why did half of the best talent leave in the past 6 months?
Why are there so many job openings at bungie?
Why was the game cut up less than a year before launch, with original vanilla content cut out, only to be sold back to us as DLC?
Why has it been 6 months since any new content has come out? I mean NEW content, not reskinned assets?
Why was destiny 2 pushed back to 2017?
Why does it take so long for a crucible match to be made, only to get 4 vs. 5 at the start?
Why is the tower so empty?
Why is it harder to find groups on destinylfg?
No no, you're right, everything is just fine!
Protip from industry: if someone is "let go" (euphemism for fired) and his replacement says a few words, he was politely fired. If the person "stepping down" says a few words, then it was his own choice.
No, bungie lost against Marty. Bungie even went so far as to file an opinion after the ruling, WHICH AGREED WITH THE JUDGE, only to try and spin the ruling as a win.
Also it is Harold Ryan ("hereafter referred to as 'Ryan' - straight from the court documents) who is clearly named and representing bungle. Strange coincidence that Ryan was "let go" shortly after the ruling. The additional opinion filed is what's known as a "sore loser" in the legal industry and a "dick, crybaby move" in other industries, solely to try and malign Marty.
Also, why would Joe Staten leave before launch? Because he was fed up with management's decision to scrap his story and rewrite it all. He's only a New York Times Bestselling Author. Surely whoever replaced him could do a better job. That's why the story in vanilla is so good. Oh wait...
Joe Staten also helped develop the Halo background. A good manager trusts their employees, not second guesses them. Why bring on Joe in the first place if not to use him?
It has been well documented that content was cut from vanilla, then resold as DLC. Take off your blinders and read. It's not my job to educate you; if you refuse to accept reality, that's your choice. Quick proof: the dreadnought was in early promo video before launch.
Deny it all you like, but bungie has not communicated a clear plan ever. Also they clearly scrapped their 10 year plan that was leaked; the internal meeting slow showing "comets" as expansions.
At the game developers conference recently, the makers of The Witcher stated that the biggest mistake a company can make is to not lay out a long term road map, to not communicate, with the fans.
Silence is proof of no plan. Otherwise a reasonable company would be building hype, getting customers excited for upcoming content.
It's been 6 months since the Taken King and we still have no clear idea of what NEW CONTENT is on the way.
Year 1 destiny: launch, 2 dlc releases.
Year 2 destiny: the taken king and.... well, halfway into year 2, we still don't know.
Oh but hey, here's some reskinned assets to keep you busy while we figure out what the hell we're doing.
Yep, things are looking good at bungee.
Anything else?
...
Didn't think so.

Classic. Silly rabbit. Can't take the hate? Don't post the bait.
