How would you balance snipers for the spring expansion? Let's get creative!

Every time I make my way back to these forums someone is complaining about snipers. This is ok after all they did ruin special ammo in 3v3 and brought the ice breaker back from the ashes. I like many others love sniping and enjoy hitting those crispy headshots. I admit though some snipes I've hit are so ridiculous I just save them and play them over and over again. [u]My opinion[/u] I feel like snipers now a days have too much aim assist. The first sniper that broke the bond between skill and auto aim was the shadow of veils. I did not mind it because just about anyone can get it and everyone had the same rolls. Now a days people have hidden hand 1000 yards with much higher aim assist and a couple of my friends have the welorian's March with hidden hand and that sniper is not a sniper it is an aim assist machine. I love low aim assist I currently use a benevolace without hidden hand and I enjoy it very much. [b]My creative way of balancing snipers would be to add more flinch when being shot at by different weapons and lower the aim assist of all snipers over 50 aim assist. What is yours?[/b]

  • Aim assist isn't the problem nor is the no sway or flinching. It was never a problem before the taken King. The real problem is, you just can't close the gap between you and a sniper fast enough anymore. They nerfed blink, shotguns,hand cannons and fusion rifles. They all used to keep snipers in their place. Now with all them being nerfed a sniper now has more superiority.

      Reasons snipers will always be the best 1) potential to one shot everyone 2) they reward skill 3) they don't require you to commit to the kill In conclusion the best way to nerf them is to increse flinch while being shot and buff fusions and side arms to make competition BTW aim assist doesn't help get head shots there is practically no difference between high aim assist with hidden hand and low aim assist

        The question is not how any gamers would adjust the snipers. Its knowing how Bungie will -blam!- it it up. Oh! You want us to adjust them a little bit. Bungie's little bit of adjusting come with a price of adjusting other things for the -blam!- of it as they are at it. That little adjustment is to the extreme.

        • Snipers account for 84% of special kills in trials this week. 1kys accounts for 28% of ALL kills in trials, then mida at 16%. Nothing else is above 6%. Just fyi.

          • My opinion is that the lower rate of fire snipers still shoot another shot off pretty fast. So if you're not getting the headshot off you get a 2nd body shot off fast even though your fire rate is floored to the ground.

          • Snipers are fine how they are any nerf would cause about 90% of what left of the games community to finally call it quits. Aim assist is a myth that has been debunked several times check YouTube and as for damage their actually weak considering a sniper shot to the chest in real life and your pretty much dead anyway

                  • Let's see disable no scope make it take 3 seconds to get into scope instead of half a second, add sway and add a hold bearth program when we'll see less snipers.

                        • I hate players using snipers in pvp as primaries, but nerfing it in any way will ruin my PVE experience!!! Make shot gunning a more viable option. That's it the house of wolves era has been the best so far minus hand cannons being op for way too long
