Ok, here's my thought. Chime in one way or the other.
The final match for a teams flawless run would take place at the Lighthouse. Winner stays to collect their prize and continues to play out their card at the Lighthouse.
I've never been but I think it would be cool to have a near exclusive PVP map.
The "Compromise" part is that more Guardians would get see the Lighthouse firsthand.
The only real issue I can see with this arrangement is finding a match once you reach 8-0. One workaround would be that Trials would start on it's regular day but "Flawless Day" would open on day 3 which I guess would be enough time to build a sustainable pool of qualifying teams.
Just a thought.

1 ReplyEdited by Fibby: 3/18/2016 8:56:03 AMI don't like this, it's just another way to say that Trials should be made easier by eliminating some of the competition. That might have not been your original idea, but that's what it does. The bigger problem is that it would also be a matchmaking nightmare and just increase the lag by limiting the player pools: -Team that get flawless get excluded from the player pool, less people to match with means worse connections for everyone, especially for those that are in the "lighthouse pool". -Chances are that there will not be a team available who is also 8-0 when you are searching for that final game with your team, they might be able to only find you a team you that you don't connect that well with, or a team that is too far from your region. This is why you don't always play another 8-0 team for the final game or you might face one early in your passage with the current system that tries to match you by wins in addition to connection quality. -Limiting the final games to a certain day like you suggested is not a solution. First of all it forces you to play on a specific day instead of being able to complete the activity on any day Trials is out which is stupid, and those who are successfull will be limited to only play 6 matches per character (considering boons) and then waiting for it. Since the teams that are successfull are excluded from the player pool because they are waiting for the final match, you will have less and less people to be matched with as the event goes on, which increases the chances of getting nothing but poor connections. This suggestion splits the players in three pools, ones who don't have a 8-0 card, the ones playing their lighthouse game, and the ones who got flawless, nothing good will come out of it, just more lag.

4 RepliesI've always had the opinion that if a team can get 9 yellow dots before they get 3 red dots, they should have access to the lighthouse (awarding grimoire) but only be able to open the rewards chest if they have a flawless card. Just my opinion.

3 RepliesObi that is actually a sick idea. As another who has never been to the lighthouse, it would be an interesting way to finish a flawless card. Very interesting.

2 RepliesSadly it was at its best in year one. Complete rng gave everyone a equal chance to go but now that it's based off wins its a lot harder to do. It was supposed to be for the best of the best which is still debatable with all the lag I see when I get to 5 or 6 wins.

Trying to get as many people to the lighthouse as we can every freaking weekend.

1 ReplyYou would be putting a cap on how many games people could play in the first two days. If someone doesn't lose a match the maximum amount of games they can play is 24. Bungie would never limit the amount of games you can play like that.

1 ReplyEdited by Zoey: 3/16/2016 10:50:07 PMTime constraints aren't a great idea, on paper this sounds fantastic, but so many people are unable to play on the 3rd+ day due to their own reasons. I like the idea of a Lighthouse map though, may be a bit awkward to design around the current Lighthouse, but certainly not impossible Also limiting how many games people can play is a major flaw as well

5 RepliesThis has been proposed numerous times. The die hards are more interested in running over lower skilled players than being challenged.

3 RepliesI like where your head is at but I prefer trials the way it is.

1 ReplyEdited by an engram full of bees: 3/16/2016 8:16:00 PMPeople would still complain. When people say they wanna see the Lighthouse, chances are they just want the loot and the emblem.

3 RepliesSounds like a cool idea but by making a lighthouse map you would essentially be locking people out of content. One map doesn't seem like much content but the amount of spoiled children on the forums would lose their shit if it happened.

1 ReplyI kinda like this! Good idea

Only flaw I foresee is from the instant gratification people of todays age. If you go 8-0 on day 1 would you have to wait until day 3 to see if you can go flawless? I love the idea of getting to go to the lighthouse to fight for flawless. I just think it should be available as soon or as late as you want it to be. Another idea is to change the 5 win / 7 win prizes to 6 wins and 8 wins. On game 9 both 8-0 teams would go to the lighthouse to fight for flawless. The winner of flawless gets the flawless treasure chest. The loser gets the consolation 8 win prize.

1 ReplyThat would be cool af
