Whether you are willing to admit it, the Division has many of the in-game features Destiny fans have been requesting since launch. Whether you like the Division or not is irrelevant. What is relevant is the Division sets the bar for Destiny 2. Bungie should take this into account and re-evaluate their "gaming philosophies" for the next Destiny game.
These features include:
-Optional Matchmaking
-Weapon Crafting
-Armor Crafting
-Armor perk rerolls (Limited)
-Proximity Chat
-Appearance Customization
-Guaranteed Loot
-Daily Vendor Refresh
-Rewarding Grind (Even junk loot can eventually be used to help craft high-end weapons)

1 ReplyGuaranteed garbage loot Those 4 pairs of high end gloves tho!
-
Maybe it will improve Destiny 2. They have to get players back somehow, and it won't be through DLCs.
-
5 RepliesThe Division learned a lot from Destiny and Destiny can learn a lot from The Division. We the consumer benefit from it.
-
You're absolutely correct - the division really does set the bar for destiny 2!

Edited by Occhi07: 3/16/2016 8:27:34 PMI hate how people call a new game an "[older game] killer". Why can't I buy, play, and enjoy both games? If I want to buy the division and I leave destiny for a little bit, so what. Destiny is almost 2 years old and is a drought right now. I'll spend my time playing The Division, and guess what, when Destiny drops new content, I'll come right back. And if you say "what if they both have new content at the same time?" Well then, I'll switch between the 2 of them. Picking which games are going to kill others is more pointless than the console war. I would still be playing AC4: Black Flag's multiplayer right now if I had internet, and if people actually still played it. To me that was one of the most fun multiplayer games I have ever played. OT: I completely agree with OP

4 RepliesBelieve it or not. Division players should thank Destiny players
-
1 ReplyWhat's this? A calm, thoughtful post? I agree wholeheartedly, OP.

Finally someone gets it

1 ReplyI thought the proximity chat was a really cool idea. I have been curious to see how it plays.
-
4 RepliesI hate the story and the gameplay. For now I'm fine with something else. Halo 5 Forge mode
-
6 RepliesI stopped playing Destiny, but I would never play the Division in place of it. I have games that are a lot better.

1 ReplyFor a while now, I feel the main reason that people (such as myself) have stuck with Destiny is because they have lacked a decent alternative. I play Destiny primarily with friends, I have other games for my single player fix. It seems that now, there is a suitable alternative, and that is why we're suddenly seeing the playerbase fall flat on it's arse. Don't get me wrong, I love Destiny, but people have been doing the same things for what seems like eons, it only makes sense that when another quality game which bears some similarities in terms of structure, players jump ship and try out the new game. Don't judge the "Destiny is dead" theory until a month or so after The Divison's launch. That's when the playing field will level out (in terms of getting over the new game hype) and we'll get more of an idea of what both games are going to offer/feel like over the long term.

15 RepliesDivision fans that bash destiny even though it's a destiny grind copy should drink bleach
-
1 ReplyThat quote could not be any fücking truer in this case
-
Only 3 of these things Destiny doesn't have.
-
13 RepliesOptional matchmaking would be cancer for raids and should never be implemented. But the rest of these features I agree with.
-
No. >:(
-
1 ReplyThe optional MM for everything is the main reason I'm considering buying The Division. Conversely, the lack of it in Destiny is also the main reason I stopped playing it. MM was good enough for me to play thousands of games in the 45-50 range in H3 and every single one of them required more teamwork and communication than anything in Destiny PvE, especially once you've done the activity a few times.

I don't think armor crafting would fit Destiny, nor would weapon crafting. What should exist are weapon manufacturer vendors for Suros, Hakke, and Omolon. Stock and perks should rotate on some set basis. Other factions like Vanguard should have stock change on something like a weekly basis. By this I mean guns and armor changing to any that have been in the game since the start. Bring Year 1 gear forward in this way. The perks on this gear should rotate daily. Personally, I couldn't care less for proxy chat. It's only really fun when people in the DZ plan to attack you for your stuff over proxy chat then proceed to bitch when you kill them. Smart players use private chat.

4 RepliesI feel it's quite obvious Ubisoft looked at Destiny's flaws and implemented everything players from Destiny fanbase wanted.

1 ReplyI don't think there's any doubt about the "worst in people" part

All they had to do was spend an hour on the #Destiny forms reading and make a game that does the exact opposite. Hell, I could have done that! I always miss my chance to be a millionaire again!
