It means games like “Destiny” or “a few other popular games" could be played online, together, by players who are on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
POLL

Edit: What would happen with playstation exclusive items? Would Xbox players get them or have to go against them?
Edit: No intention to start a console war..It was all in good fun. But I think it would be good for a better player base and competition.
To be fair I created a new poll https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/196474014

Im so exited now!!!! Because like 80% of my friends play on ps4 so now theres a chance ill be able to play destiny with them!
-
Imo pvp is easier on Xbox one but I haven't played a lot of it. Also it could just be the controller that makes me slightly better.
-
4 RepliesYeah...the last 500 xbox players want to find players to play against/with too.
-
1 ReplyAs an Xbox One player who has played a little on PS4, I have noticed that the Xbox community is more competitive, granted it is a very small (personal) sample size. More importantly, if this is implemented in Destiny, it only benefits the players. Giving a boost to player population would make LFG-ing much easier and reduce latency since there will be a larger pool of players in your area. The Destiny community is definitely larger on Playstation, and I have definitely felt the effects of the dwindling population on Xbox, so I would gladly welcome both communities being able to play together.

It appears Xbox users are a tad pissed about PS exclusives (not that I blame them)

9 RepliesEdited by mandog_123: 3/15/2016 4:33:46 AMGood luck, while you guys fight it out I'll be in the Dark Zone and getting loot.

I don't get why you would be mad.. iPhones can whatsapp with android too.. You don't get more lag because of cross platforms, you get lag from bad internet connections.

21 RepliesEdited by blacksteez: 3/15/2016 9:13:01 AMokay, im putting all the bullshit to rest right here about xbox gamer superiority. if i can come off ps3 and manage a 1.85 avg kill death ratio in battlefield 4 on XBOX ONE and a 1.7 kdr in bo3 on XBOX ONE, it proves that this shit is a myth that xbox players made up lmfao. case closed

5 RepliesYou gotta respect what Microsoft is doing here. They always seem to be more respectful towards Sony while Sony always seems like they want nothing to do with Microsoft/Xbox.
-
welp now i need to get a mouse and keyboard just to compete
-
such irony , PC-PS3/4 already had multiplatform servers for some games and it was always microsoft who refused to participate, to the point some games couldnt be released on xbox because of that
-
4 RepliesI feel like this is how the consoles are divided on skill Xbox Godlike Good ok bad trash XXXXXXXXX XXXXXXXXXX XXXXXXXXXXXX XXXXXXXXXXX XXXXXXXXXXXX XXXXXXXXXXX XXXXXXXXXXXXXX XXXXXXXXXXXXX XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX PS4 Godlike Good ok bad trash XXXXXXXXXXXXX XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX obviously the x represents a group of players in that skill range... You guys agree?

What's that domination nonsense all about? Some like Playstation better, some Xbox. So what? We're all gamers, aren't we? Anyways, it's great that MS finally permits or enables cross platform playing. But: 1) this will most likely NOT be implemented in games that have already been released. 2) it's nothing automagically happening. It must be implemented by the developers. So Destiny players won't benefit from it. But hopefully Destiny 2 players.
-
It's up to the developers now, right? Which would be great news for my buddy on ps4 that hasn't done Kings Fall.
-
They were very nonchalant about saying it lol. It's open for other consoles if they choose...
-
Pc players would generally dominate controller users. Would there be exceptions? Sure. Would there be a lot of them? No.
-
1 ReplyIt's pretty simple....PS4 is kicking Xbone's Ass.....if you want to play with friends buy a ps4.....so xbox opens the door for friends to play with ps4 users without buying ps4's...but what does Sony have to gain....fuk off Micro$oft......
-
Im a die hard ps4 fan. But Xbox is definitely a more competitive community
-
Sick!!
-
Won't be xbox/ps4. Technically anything you can game on is a console.
-
1 ReplyIf they could do something like this for Destiny, then that would be great. I've got friends who have it on the PS4 and I'm on the XB1. It would make raiding easier seeing as how most of the lfg posts I see here are for ps4...I said most, not all so easy xbros. It would also be cool as I've got several friends stranded in last gen with their 360s.
-
They may have their exclusives but that doesn't mean we're worse. ;)
