Seriously, what determines whether or not a post gets on the Trending list? I've seen posts that have zero responses or likes, and they are at least on the second page of Trending while there are some with much more comments and likes that aren't. That isn't to say that the ones with little shouldn't be on Trending or that the posts don't have good content, not what I'm saying at all, it's just that I don't understand the process by which the posts that are placed in Trending are placed there. If anyone at Bungie would be kind enough to provide an answer or at least just acknowledge my interest that would be very helpful. Thank you.

It usually has to do with the popularity of the OP. Either that or the op hits a nerve one way or another.

I read somewhere on the forums that a dislike (or 3) will drop it from trending. Oh, and I agree we need Bungie to buff fusion rifles...

Edited by Synge_X: 3/10/2016 7:23:02 PMWhile this is not a one size fits all. Here is how you play the forum game. Positive methods: 1. Make friends, follow users and support their ideas, never openly disagree with popular posters. Basically you get what you give here. 2. Ask for support. Don't be afraid to ask others to come over to your post. Negative/hive minded methods: 1. Use shared forum created vocabulary(most of which are akin to school-play ground insults) Example: Crucibaby, Desticle, etc. 2. Copy good, clever posts and adopt them as your own with no attribution to the player you ripped it from. Chances are, if you liked what someone said, others will too. 3. Irrationally rip Bungie, be as hateful, snide, and unreasonable as possible. People feed off of hate. 4. Be demanding. Every generation in proximity is probed to entitlement. You feel owed, they feel owed. 5. DON't BE INTELLECTUAL!!!! Everyone thinks both their shit doesn't stink, and that they are a genius... Good logic and decent vocabulary will automatically intimidate 90% of the people reading it. You don't agree with someone? Ridicule, don't make sound arguments. 6. Make sure to check posters, assess popularity and ridicule only those who are unpopular. People roll like a pack of wolves here and dick ride hard, so if you diss a popular poster, expect to get black balled. 7. Despite your own personal feelings, make sure to always be on the perceived majority's side... Case in point, never support a nerf on the forums. Good luck guardian.

It's based on the rate that people are liking it and commenting.

Be trump. Build walls between players and use very general terms and phrases that appeal to everyone. Find a common enemy.

4 RepliesEdited by ill skillz: 3/10/2016 4:43:52 PMIt's random. Sometimes it trends other times you just get proximity. Or fitted stock...... If the posts get no hits sometimes you get a gallahorn.

3 RepliesIt has to contain at least one mention, although it's usually way more than that, of nerfing fusion rifles.

One stat you don't see is page views. That is most likely the culprit. Could even be a hidden timer that tracks how long people stay in a thread? What's more trendy, sustained interest or passing (even after hitting 'like')
