Black Spindle Respect
After a day of many multiple attempts at the Black Spindle; I have a new found respect for for those who have it. We (multiple groups of "we") could easily get to the Taniks wannabe with 6 min remaining but then it's blight/adds management hell. We managed to get the big guy down once with 1:30 remaining but there were so many adds.

So hats off to you Black Spindle holders. Hope it's worth the PTSD
EDIT: Big shoutout to @Sniping piikey, and an LFG random @UNR34LG4MER. Thanks to them, I managed to finally get the Black Spindle. I was starting to think I was the problem.

Me and the other admins of my clan regularly take new members and people who do have it through. Think 40 people in the clan got it when it was up the other day. SPEAKERS SECRET STASH RULES!! if you are on PS4 come and join us Disagree with every strat below btw..... raze lighters, pop and weapons and a blessing on boss platform rinse boss then spend about 6 minutes killing adds, take down the blights first.

I tried it many times, but last time, me and a couple of random. On our 1st attempt managed to kill a last major with a second to go... We couldn't believe we'd done. One of those golden moments... Didn't get the flippin shop tho....

I soloed it this weekend :-) I've been trying to get that sniper for the longest time and i finally got it. You have no idea how many times I've tried and failed at getting it. But i finally figured out the method of doing it. First thing is destroy all blights in the room before 30 seconds are up other wise more adds will spawn. Then kill all majors and shielded guys. Then kill red bar adds then shoot boss. There are 4 waves at the taniks room after the bosses health goes down a little more adds and blights spawn. Kills 1 wave then attacking boss then killing next wave and so on and so fourth is how you defeat it. I had 18 secs left when i finally defeated the boss. Its alot ALOT EASIER doing it this way. Blights, majors and shielded guys, then small adds then boss and repeat until you finally kill the last and 4th wave then all you have to do is just kill the boss. After the fourth wave thats it.

Hey I've finished the mission a few times, the way I did it was to have 1 bubble Titan, 1 nightstalker, and a storm caller. Pop the bible next to the boses feet and lay into him with exotic swords. Once he dies working on adds with the storm caller. From there on out its pretty simple good luck if you need any help with the mission feel free to message me.

Get rid of the big orbs around the arena those things and the boss are the real problem. They spawn a shit ton of constant ads.

For those who are still trying to get it: Do it the AOEasy way. Use Zhalo on the Blights, it will kill the adds below. Use Hammers with Explosive Pyre, Locks use Stormtrance, Hunters use Bows. Getting rid of the adds quickly is the number one strategy.

Edited by awesome1401: 3/8/2016 7:55:33 AMIt's seriously the best and hardest exotic quest with a reward that's so worth it. First curse, chaperone, NTtE are rewards not worth the effort. Trick is to take out blights/adds/boss in that order. Use supers like hammer, stormtrancers, tether since they can take out multiple enemies for add control. So important to take out blights and adds as they spawn. Boss goes down easy without them around.

All ready have one. Was helping my two brothers out, I killed Taniks with Razelighter/Sunsinger combo which works wonders especially when he is Shadowshotted. Anyways, killed him with 3:47 remaining... We killed the last add with 8 secs left ! Lol.

Hunter invis grenades..and swords! Amazing swords!! Stand at start of the room, go invis, run n smash him with swords all 3 players, die then repeat till hes dead, kill blights/leave adds/ once bilghts are deaf smash adds, we did it first time it was available as 290's this way

All the times I've done it before, we 3 manned with it swords. 1. clear blights / adds. Use your supers (especially storm callers. Chain your supers so you generate orbs for others.) 2. take health down on the boss. 3. repeat. Good weapon load out helps. Zhalo (arc) void sniper (take out the witches) Solar machine gun (for all the knights)

I like this mission, no idea why people hate it, i must have done it at least 50+ times by now with at least 1min left (record was 3:05 mins left) It's all about the right strategy, once you know the system you can beat it really, heck my beast friend solo'd it yesterday, but he's a much better player than myself

It is tough and the PTSD is real. I have completed it a few times and was lucky enough to get the ship. That being said i failed many times. What helped me was to watch a video of "The legend himself" soloing it. There are a few more videos of people soloing it now also. They make it look routine. Crazy Demons! I don't know the precise formula for success but it seems that you have to kill the blights quickly....especially in the last room. Also have to find the balance of aggresiveness. Too aggressive: You die too much and spend too much time waiting to respawn. Too tentative: You don't kill the blights and everything else quickly enough and just run out of time. Teamwork is key. But congrads! sounds like you got it! Good Job! The hardest task to complete in Destiny PvE IMO.

Just gotta spam orbs constantly.. That helped my group. So you guys are popping two supers in each room, then snipe the champion. You'll get it next time :)
