Those shows are being planned, too. Hang in there and we’ll create some renewed urgency to discharge your favorite weapon in the direction of some aliens.

Dear Bungie,
4 days away from losing a massive portion of your player base and this is the best you can come up with? Seriously? Not even a single, solitary hint of what is to come. I don't feel bad at all for leaving. I won't miss this at all once The Division drops. I don't know what happened Bungie, but you've changed. In a matter of 18 months you've had one of the quickest falls from grace I have ever seen a developer have, and it is completely of your own doing. Your community is begging you for reasons not to leave and it's like you don't even care. You've been repeating the same thing over and over for weeks now as if it somehow will relieve the cries for information. It's not surprising, however, given the complete and utter PR disaster you've been since you handed Luke the reigns last summer. You've become the developer that other devs watch when they want to know how not to treat their players. I once stood up for you.. I no longer will. You have lost one of your most loyal and dedicated fans. I hope you come to your senses soon, because you desperately need to.
-Brick
PS: I got no enjoyment out of the composition of this post. This is a sad day, not only for me but the community as a whole. I feel like I am leaving a good friend behind because he is no longer the kind of person I want to associate myself with. Sad, very sad.
Edit: Glad this is trending at #1. Maybe some devs will actually see it. I don't think I've ever seen an "I'm leaving" post reach the #1 spot.. Thank you to all of you who agree with me, and an I'm sorry to those who don't.
Edit 2: Can't even get the damn weekly update out on time now.. Smdh.. They embarrass themselves more every single day.

I wonder if the announcement will detail the TTK exotics that STILL haven't been released. Probably not though.

1 ReplyEdited by Garevick: 3/4/2016 6:03:52 PMSadly this is the case with many of the destiny community. Their "changes" have been more akin to self inflicted, slow, painful, mortal wounds, that are bleeding out their life blood (decent minded players who were trying to HELP) and leaving the toxic infection (the trolls and various other venomous community population) in the end their slow death is their own doing. Even I'm sitting at the precipice of that open wound as I am finding enjoyment in Warframe and look excitedly forward to The Division. It is truly a tragedy to see the great fall to such depths....the days of a great legend have ended leaving only it's starving population and crumbling statues in it's wake. I will say now that a sliver of hope remains that the golden age resparks for them and that with it they gain the respect and admiration they garnered in their early years. I have enjoyed the experiences that 343/Bungie has given me from Halo CE to Destiny 's beginning. I even owe them thanks for giving me and my mother a chance to enjoy the same thing...sticking grunts and watching them scream into the group's of covenant. But as many have said their time, like any other, has come. Their legend both good and bad will be remembered and I'm happy to say I'll continue playing the great titles of their time but I am going forward to explore the New while looking back on the classics that lead me there. So to Bungie and the former 343, thank you for everything and I will continue to watch where you go, be it to the death of a legendary line or to a rebirth unlike anything the gaming community has seen. With that, fellow Guardians and Spartans alike, I will see you on the battlefield be it here or another. -Salutes-

7 RepliesTL;DR The Division is going to kill Destiny P.S. It really won't.
-
I think that this is just an strategy from Bungie. They know that no matter what they do, they are gonna have part of its player base gone for The Division. So they are just preparing something real good to bring them back. Personally I won't go anywhere: Bungie, you've got spartans on the ground... we're not going anywhere...

45 RepliesGuess what? You don't have to play destiny constantly, every day for eternity. The base game was released over 18 months ago. How many other games do you still play with regularity so long after release? Go play the division and enjoy it and hopefully when new destiny content comes out you will have 2 great games to play. Seriously I don't understand these posts.

Some times change is good, others it is down right bad. When Destiny first came out it was a disappointment and update after update Bungie did an amazing thing (except for PvP) they made the game better. They even listened to the fans, some what at least. And just as you think Destiny was saved, The Taken King comes out, and back to when Destiny first came out. Only this time I am unsure if Bungie can save the game, so I presume they have in a sense gave up, and started on Destiny 2. However, this will not go well for the fans, because if they can not fix Destiny, who in there right mind would go for Destiny 2. We shall have to see what happens from now until the end of the year. For me, fixing Strikes is what I want, bring back Year One strikes (with or with out the Taken) or both), and earn Legendary Marks as and how we want, Heriocs for 15 Marks, Tiger Strikes for 10 Marks and another Strike for 5 and the Strike for Zero Marks (for fun). And for the rest of the people playing Destiny, I would guess they want PvP fixed once and for all. I am a PvE player, I do not care much at all for PvP, at least since Bungie ruined it with all these updates. And yeah, never forgiven Bungie for what they did with the Auto Rifle. A good solution would have been PvP and PvE being separate.

I have to agree. I have been holding my breath for months now waiting for a whisper of some meaningful new content. Or even just a patch that wasn't idiotic weapon nerfs that no one ever asked for. I'm running out of steam, and patience for this game (not to mention things to do).

Saluted , common sense .

Edited by RANGERX117: 3/4/2016 7:11:39 PMI'm a casual player. I can skip playing a week at a time with no problem. However the lack of content is even bothering me. It seem there has been a lot of work on PVP but the PVE content is weak at best. While I don't have a lot to time to play games and don't really play other games if I don't play Destiny becaue of a lack of content that will not bother me either. Since the casual player makes up the bulk of Bungies customers they should be concerned.

I laughed way to hard when I saw your name was just Brick lol. And good points
-
it seems the only ones that read the forum are other development companies to see what we want and what would keep us happy and then implement it for the game they have..
-
1 ReplyAgreed - I still love Destiny for many reasons. I'll no doubt come back for the spring update, but they have missed an opportunity here with The Division around the corner. I don't expect The Division to take me away from Destiny completely - but with their transparant roadmap they show Bungie how to commit to your customers. One screenshot with a date would have been enough.
-
2 RepliesCool. You aren't confined here. Why do people act like you're supposed to play this game every day with no breaks? I assume you've finished now. TTK is the end so amusing your quest screen is empty, you're done. People leave once they finish a game, it's natural in the gaming world, so feel free to leave as you've probably finished. See you in destiny 2.
-
1 ReplyTill destiny actually decides to do something and give us new material. Goodbye destiny, hello the division.
-
6 RepliesI don't understand. Would mere information of something incoming to Destiny, or even a specific date, would have prevented you from completely touching another new game? Enlighten me on this subject. I know people are upset that Bungie has ran pretty dry on content and such for a while, but for that to have an effect such as this?
-
This game will continue to be a game that I enjoy playing, but it will be to varying degrees. Currently I am excited for division. Will it replace destiny for me? No. Will be a great supplement to my game collection? Yes, just as destiny is. If you take your focus off of a single game, it's much more bearable to live through content droughts. Just food for though.
-
I agree completely. This news update was total bullshit like every other week. I rarely play and this gives me a reason to just stop all together.
-
Why do ppl keep making these juvenile posts? Regardless of what Bungie does it is inevitable that ppl are going to play other new games when they release. It is not sound business practice to release new content at the same time new releases come out.
-
I think bungie know something we dont know. Thats why their like fck it
-
Destiny is a casual game - come back when you can. But posts about "i'm quitting" are just silly - its a game, not a career or life's calling ;/

3 RepliesI normally slam people for posting they are leaving and comparing to other games etc. But OP has a point... I get paid this week and Division is looking VERY tempting right now. Only thing preventing it is the time I have sunk into Destiny. That time commitment that people like myself don't want to leave behind is slowly starting to dwindle though.
