Can someone explain? What's wrong with wanting and trying to win in a game mode where winning is the goal?

People get bored when they notice people using the same weapons over and over. Hey aren't to blame though, multiple weapon types are nerfed into uselessness so there is little variety by design.

Edited by iTrap911: 3/3/2016 9:52:07 PMWhen every player uses the best weapons and subclasses, over and over and every game. The game gets very boring, broken, and frustrating . Play for fun not K/D. Modes like IB and ToO,are to be expected, to be highly competitive, that's not say normal models are not to be competitive, but there is no point, there is but random rewards( in normal modes).

They need to implement a ranked playlist for tryhards.

I'm a casual player. I do put my try hard pants on when I need to. There is absolutely nothing wrong with it. The issue is when the "tryhards" are being jerks to everyone else. Unfortunately I've met quite a few. A lot more than expected. But don't listen to others. just keep a fun environment for you and others and play the game

16 RepliesEdited by Mercenary1914: 3/3/2016 4:16:12 PMHonestly I think the term "try hard" has different definitions. I am reading below and I am now totally confused. I have a friend who is in the top 1% and carries my butt to the light house constantly explain to me that a try hard is someone who uses the current META. He said they dont have to be good or bad at the game...these are the people who are trying so hard to win...they will use the most effective loadout. Is that what it really is?

Theory two: tryhards say 'git gud' Say it! Sayyyy Ittttt!!

3 RepliesEdited by pmhump: 3/3/2016 6:26:08 PMJust because someone wrecks at crucible doesn't make them a try hard at all , just means you wreck ! I try hard all the time and suck !!! But respect to people who are amazing at PVP must be a natural ability I don't have I.e good reaction speed and awareness.

It's bad when you try hard and either a) still suck or b) are a total douche and t bag n talk crap other then that, giving your best isn't a bad thing.

It's not that trying to win is bad, it's that the phenomenon of "tryharding" creates an environment where the game is not fun. I played a little trials over the weekend and none of my friends who I can do trials with were online, so I jumped on the forums and ended up with a guy about my age (early 20s), and a kid maybe 12. The kid asked us if we were going to just mess around or go tryhard. We replied that we were going to try to win but it wasn't serious but this kid just didn't seem to understand that there was a middle ground, and proceeded to swap to his "tryhard" load out, which is fine, as we did want to do well, and most players including me have a build or two they use when playing somewhat competitively. However his attitude also changed dramatically, and he became an annoying whining player who loved teabagging and telling the other team to git gud. Please bear in mind that they couldn't hear him, but I sure as hell could. This is not the first player who has a tryhard mode, and everytime I meet one, even if they don't specifically say they're going tryhard, I have a bad time trying to be a team player. I think that tryharding is a mentality more than anything else, and it is not a healthy mindset to get into.

Everyone wins now we're all the same. lol

Someone who is good will play a normal pace, have great positioning, excellent movement, and an oustanding shot. Someone who is a try hard will have a crazy high pace, move around the map like crazy, not have good positioning, charge a full squad with a shotgun because they have a terrible shot, and probably have a ram helmet on ;)

3 RepliesYou are putting so much energy and effort and making the game feel bad and sh!tty instead of having fun

1 ReplyThere's trying hard, then there's being a try hard.

Do or do not, there is no try.

Went into a elim match this morn, 1st game of the day, and one of our opposing guardians left/ lagged out/ 'DDoSed' (by us I guess?) from the game in the 1st round. So We go in a beat the other 2, nothing crazy, like 5 to 2 or something, they weren't to bad, one of them tea bagged me in like round 3 so true guardian fashion I took my revenge with a savage grenade to a double kill and some tea bagging (just what ya do right?) after game I revived abusive msgs saying like 'gg fag' 'try hard' 'hacker' ( guess he thought I kicked his mate). People are so petty when playing pvp, these things happen are we supposed to throw the game because ur teamy has a quick-e mart connection? All the flavours and ppl chose to be salty, just enjoy the game!

I have to try hard every game and I barely got positive. Imagine if I eased up.lol

Edited by Edge Lawbringer: 3/3/2016 6:29:03 PMWhen I think of "try hard" I imagine someone dodging my bullets and abilities like they're Madara Uchiha at the start of the 4th ninja war https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=http://m.youtube.com/watch%3Fv%3D_ZDg68TwtQE&ved=0ahUKEwiK1KWIkqXLAhXBRCYKHerqDSY4HhC3AggjMAM&usg=AFQjCNEwIvNRfx0Q6Y-igoG48dX1B6Dz5w

Self gratification, self entitlement, effortless generation. Crybabies. Thats about sums it up why it's lame now.

3 RepliesSomewhere in the 2000s effort became lame! Fast food, and instant mashed potatoes spread across our nation like wild fire, and opened peoples eyes to effortless gifts. Kids today start jobs expecting to be the boss, and make 6 figures at 18. Why work for something if it can be handed to you.
-
My thoughts are people want everything easy so when others try hard it makes things harder for them.

Cus its gay

5 RepliesImagine playing monopoly with your family... Its all fun and games unil your cousin Steve joins.. Steve starts going try hard. And whenever he passes someone he always shouts "IN YOUR FACE YOU LOSER" you and you're family are still trying to have fun but Steve has made it clear that he wants to win and he wants to rub it in your face Don't be a Steve

It's just kind of annoying to get dropped in a match of sweatiness every time I wanna play 3v3.
