So I'll start out saying I usually main a Titan.
However this IB I've been running as my Lock and Hunter as the chances of me progressing my 319 Titan are slim.
Yesterday I finally unlocked transcendence for my Stormcaller warlock. Thinking "oh a boost to the time in super, cool".
My first game was the map on earth with the railway bridge in the middle. I popped my super in the train shed area at one end of the map, receiving my first kill through landfall.
I then had enough time to meander my way across the whole map, getting 2 kills along my way before entering the building on the other side, at which point I still had enough super energy to wipe out another 3 opponents before it ended.
I was sat there like, wow. How is this on? My first go with it, I used it in a poor location and I STILL got 6 kills with it.
No super that is that mobile and that effective should ever last that long, especially as the talent nodes you have to sacrifice to get that boost are useless anyway.
Add to that you can have a high armour build, not max but high, coupled with a 50% reduction to incoming damage it's simply has no weakness.
Players can't even outrun you, sure the odd Titan skater might evade your palpatine clutches but hunters and other locks don't stand a chance.
If you compare that to other mobile supers, I think hammers were on a par in their prime but not anymore and GG simply doesn't even come close. I haven't really used bladedancer so I can't comment on that one.
Personally I feel it needs adjusting, either reduce the time, movement speed or range or any combination of the 3. Either that or a buff to other mobile supers to bring them in line.
Also don't try telling me that subclass is weak so it needs a good super, you can have really high armour, the melee is brilliant with mega range and the nades aren't half bad either.
Now feel free to comment on how much of a scrub I am.

Eventually it will either get a time limit nerf or range nerf. Any super that is even a tiny bit OP gets nerfed.
-
shush! let it ride out till march 8th then you care bears can cry nerf about everything!
-
2 RepliesBro.... It's a thunder that comes of the palms when you melee, it's supposed to be long... The speed is slow AF and also, you can't kill others right away What needs a nerf is the shoulder charge. It should be a one hit kill
-
3 RepliesI've gotten 5-6 before with foh, nova and dancers too, dont make them op does it? I'll tell you this, thats not common. You really have to be lucky with circumstance to get that many kills before getting killed yourself. Like novabombing a full team of six stupidly huddled around a heavy about to pop. Its awesome when it happens, but it dont happen often. When it does, its because the other side dont know how to deal with it properly or aren't playing as a team.

Edited by Malfeitor: 2/26/2016 9:58:49 PMI don't even use it, most kills are done in the first 5-10 seconds. After that your chances of being effective are greatly reduced. I prefer to have a stronger game outside the use of super. I use pulsewave.

I can't tell you how many times I've been killed with a shotgun/melee combo or sniper while in Stormtrance. No health regen on kills, no overshield, it isn't a instant kill, the range to even get close enough to chain lighting is well within gun range, no AoE like Sunspot or Nova Bomb, no across map potential kills, and it doesn't one shot others in their supers. It is a super that can easily be combated with team shots, other supers, shotgun/melee combos, and heavy weapons. Does it have potential to wipe a entire team? Yes of course. Every super does when used optimally. But Stormtrance is by far the easiest super to kill.
-
With max Discipline on your Defender, you regain every 25 seconds a Supressor Grenade that can easily disable a Super that took 3-5 minutes to fully charge. If there's at least two Defenders on your team, Stormcallers are gonna have a bad time. If most of your fireteam members are Defenders (ex: 2/3 Defenders in Trials), they'll just be holding onto their Stormtrance.

1 ReplyEdited by Heidegger: 2/26/2016 9:04:50 PMRun into smart teams who have at least 1 titan and warlock both holding Nova Bomb and Fist of Havoc specifically to stop roaming supers(stormcaller is within range of both those supers). I will say this again Hunter Golden Gun is the most versatile roaming super and when used correctly is simply the best.

5 RepliesTranscendence needs toning down for sure. I also think the damage resistance needs reducing, seems ridiculous that you can have the possibility for a super which starts with a pretty powerful AoE effect, then continues to run around for ages with high armour, great agility (ionic blink), damages anyone who just happens to be standing close and is ranged with a damage chaining effect. Plus you don't have to be choosy about where you aim, cause it doesn't drain much faster when you shoot lightning.
-
It is way too long but other than that I think it's ok
-
4 RepliesSorry, but I disagree. It's the only good perk for PvE so a nerf will ruin it
-
I think it's balanced minus landfall not consuming super energy. Your wrong about the other perks in the tree though, feedback means I win all melee battles and pulsewave can be a lifesaver. I find transcendence to be the weak perk of the three.
-
Bladedancer requires two hits. That is more than enough time for us to get vaporized.

2 RepliesShut up meg

1 ReplyEdited by NeilR: 2/26/2016 5:30:42 PMYou unlocked it yesterday.. Might wanna chew over it a while rather than instantly taking to the forums to bitch about something you have 1 days experience of
-
And to use transcendence you sacrifice using grenades and melees for the most part....it balances itself out.

I would like you to meet my flaming knee.

Edited by UNIT 242: 2/26/2016 6:12:22 PMJust going to leave this here... http://xboxdvr.com/gamer/UNIT%20242/video/14770690
The other roaming supers you at least have to aim or get close. Also no other super could do what I did in the clip as I would have died instantly or the group was too spread out for it to kill all of them. I held the trigger down and looked at people, such skill, many kills, wow
Edited by zJDz: 2/26/2016 6:06:13 PMPeople know how to shut them down now. So you will only get high streaks like that if you go up against a crappy team or if you catch a team off guard when you pop it. I would say I probably average 3 kills with it. Which is what most roaming supers are suppose to do. Some games you get shutdown right away and other games you go on a massive kill streak. I play all of the classes and everything is balanced right now. Only thing that is a little ridiculous right now is shadestep and smoke grenades.
-
1 ReplyI save my Titan smash for this super in particular, shuts it down well.
-
Get out of here with your Nerf posts. You're probably the type of dude that wrote Bungie a letter and asked them to nerf weapon parts and glimmer.
-
I use blade dancer with the tarantella chest to counter stormbringer. The extra arc damage resist + armor lets you 'tank' palpatinemode long enough during arc blade to kill them and walk away 'unscathed'. You have enough time to get 3 swipes in - 2 will kill them, and an extra to either close the gap, or because of failed hit detection.
-
7 RepliesAgreed. It lasts too long. Landfall has a huge radius. I got killed by it from around a corner and at least ten feet away.
-
Have you tried Ionic Blink yet? You're pretty much untouchable then.
-
They are easy as hell to shut down...

1 ReplyEdited by IScrub WreckerI: 2/26/2016 11:21:24 AMThe subclass is garbage on its own. Grenades are garbage, neutral game is garbage. The only thing that brings it in line? Stromtrance. Now git gud, scrub. Also SBMM with a small slice of CBMM and that 0.8 kd may have a factor in "getting six kills with one stromtrance" or you may just be full of shit.
