For weeks now, Bungie has teased us with "new PVE activities" and a "roadmap". while those words gave me hope originally, I feel like Bungie is covering their asses by trying to keep us playing with the false promise of content.
I mean seriously... 343i just released a teaser for Warzone Firefight which has been requested by their community, and isn't slated to come for a few months, but at least they said "hey we have the stuff you wanted, here's a teaser". They even went as far as to push up the reveal of their February update by 3 days, then push up the release of their new update by a week because fans asked for it.
I'm sorry Bungie, but saying "we'll have more information soon" for weeks on end, won't work forever. You gotta step up your game.
This post was made by a long time fan of Bungie. This is not meant to be hate, but to be my opinion on how Bungie is handling it's updates compared to another company
EDIT #1: People seem confused by the way I worded my post title. This isn't necessarily my first dissatisfaction with a Weekly Update, but it's my first where I thought they were just trying to keep us with an empty promise and no real substance to back it up.
EDIT #2: For those questioning the length of my Bungie Account. I originally played Halo 2 on a different Xbox with a different account. I started using a new Xbox Live account towards the end of the Xbox 360 reign. This is the one I use with Bungie.net
EDIT #3: It happened again, Bungie needs to realise that saying "we know that you guys want this, but we still won't even give any hints" won't work. I'm getting sick of it. Until Bungie gets there shit together, I'm going to be in Halo 5: Guardians.

Most weekly updates are simply "nothing to announce" posts, Deej even tweeted something to the effect of "slow news week but the ritual must be maintained" before posting the update, essentially saying there's nothing to talk about yet. This is one of the problems with the whole weekly update thing. They'd arguably be better off just being quiet until they have something to say.

2 RepliesEdited by lewie75: 2/26/2016 8:46:18 AMYou must have only joined 2 weeks ago then if this is your first disappointed update. But dont worry my friend we will soon be able to watch twitches with the guys who make bullet sounds....how wonderful is that -_-

In response to just looking at the title ONLY: "Thats what yo mom said last night! Heyyyy!!!" #selfburn #sad #notstunninginbed

1 ReplyEdited by Silly Sod: 2/26/2016 8:36:19 PMWeek 1 We would like to take this opportunity to introduce you to Keith ... He makes the tea and ensures that all the cups are clean and have an appropriate logo such as - 'trust me I work when you're not watching me' Week 2 Say hello to Gladys she smoothes the crinkles out of the green screen when staff have finished their regular 12 hour game of Subbuteo I think I will stop here before the gramma police turn up

So much entitlement. You should just read the update every month or so

1 ReplyThe thing I don't understand about bungie is why be so secretive? Other game developers love sharing information about development and stuff. It's not like you're spoiling the story by keeping your clients in the loop as to what you're using their money for.
-
1 ReplyEdited by Star Gazer2: 2/26/2016 8:26:38 PMHow much they have changed... Going from: Bungie, the creators of Halo to Bungie, the creators of Destiny.
-
Please... Don't mention 666 Industries. Anyone remember the trailer that introduced warzones and basically said screw you to anyone with a valid argument. Yeah... I put 343 barely above EA. ((Yes, I know one is a developer and the other a publisher.))
-
This is what we get for letting them turn the game into a money farm.
-
I'm with you, hoss. I've never seen PR or advertising done more poorly than this model.
-
2 RepliesI agree. I'm also a long-time Bungie fan (back to the Marathon days), but this preview of a preview of a preview tease....is like they are laughing their asses off at us. 'next month we'll talk about how we have plans to discuss telling you about our development of a road map which will lead to us revealing a teaser about how we plan to release information about possible down-the-road future content'

March 8th

When will they realize we want more things in the game, not more ways to see people play the game

2 RepliesI feel the same way about wanting new content but one thing you hopefully learn as you get older is patience. Back in the old days before dlc and expansions and before an update or patch was a thing we were stuck with the game we got and then had to wait years for a sequal sometimes many years for a major release such as Zelda that you would get once every generation. Very few developers give updates as often as Bungie. Updates on games already released is rare because most deveopers focus on the next project. The sad thing is how entitled most these "kids" are. Go live life and enjoy other hobbies and games. When the new content is ready I'm sure we'll know. After all Bungie is a business and will want to promote their new dlc that will make them millions. And I'm sure that most of us even the salty spiteful trolls that lurk on these forums will line up with money in hand.

1 ReplyReally for the first time? You must be a very optimistic person or a great liar.

Breaking story. Next week we will have some news. until then today's news is about news that is coming next week, and a tower dance video. Hope you enjoy your Deej nearly news updates, tune in for a more long winded dreary marathon of meaningless words next time. Over to Cosmo for the weather.

2 Replieswe might have new exotics

3 RepliesI thought the MOTW honorable mention was pretty funny at least

1 ReplyI'm disappointed too, but you can't say "[x] company just released [y] update". Every company has off weeks. There was a gap in good news from 343i before this week. Still, as I said in another thread, if they don't have much to report yet, they should outright say "it's a slow news week as we gear up for..." Just be straightforward with us.
-
Join us in 3 weeks for an announcement saying youll have to wait 2 more weeks for us to announce something that will release in 2 months!
-
Their even going as far as to making weekly videos to keep us entertained because Destiny is like a 3 day old plain bagel left out on the counter. I ain't gonna lie... I nibble on this bagel everyday. :(

2 RepliesWelcome to Bungie, where customer service is nonexistent.
-
Bump. Shitpost is shitpost. (The WU, not yours).
-
Bump, I totally agree.

You're just NOW disappointed? I've been disappointed for months and months with bungie, you're a little late to the dissatisfaction party lol
