How did you go 300+?
I'm currently trying to top 300 so as to seem like a viable teammate for KF. I'm sitting at 295 ATM and think the next best step for me is to start doing the Nightfall and hoping for an upgrade, yet I see a a lot of "LFM for Nightfall, 300+", so it begs to question can you get to 300+ without running the Nightfall? How did you do it?

As some others have said, 295 is fine for KF Normal. Also, with the "challenge" modes, you should be able to hit above 300 before you even get to Oryx (which I believe is the preferred light level to fight him at on normal). I am actually going in with a group of my friends who are at 300, 289 and 288 (me being 320). I feel even at those relative lower light levels, we won't have any issues. People just ask for 295 to 305, because it can make up for any player skill gaps if they exist.

Iron Banner this week. Grind it. Then normal mode King's Fall raid, then hard mode.

290-300 is fine for KF normal. It's just people are dićks and don't like helping others.

Iron banner is the best best without raiding.

299-300 is perfect for Normal King's Fall. Finding a game from the100.io or destinylfg.net would be your best bet. ~[i]TheGreatNike[/i]

I've never finished a raid and I got all my characters to 310 when I move weapons from characters. I did the nightfalls once a week because the people I played with most only had 1 character, but SRL helped get my gear up and IB can drop some good shit from time to time, after that I just farmed exotics until I got enough 310 to infuse everything I had on all characters

Do the raid on normal you'll be 300+ from the drops before you get done with the raid. Screw the nightfall its a waste of time I get better drops using three of coins in the crucible

I got 300+ with SRL for my hunter. That got me into normal raids and kept pushing its LL up. Extra gear was infused unto my other characters afterwards.

I did the raids,319 on all 3 characters(Hunter,titan,and warlock) to get over 300. Did my 1st KF raid(normal) at 285 light.Nightfall is only 280 light,and both IB and trails is only 290 light so no need to be 300+ unless you want to raid.

Exotic sword is how I did it, it's extremely grindy though I recommend you play iron banner because the guaranteed rewards from packages will definitely put you over 300.

Just do the raid. You can do the normal raid at 295.

There are always people willing to help new people with the raid as long as you listen and be a good team mate. That would boost you alot. Iron banana would help a little bit but not much. Raiding often, gives extra gear to infuse into better gear. Night fall won't hurt many people would help you on destinylfg.net. if you try you can find a group. You don't always need to post how new you are to activities just tell the team if you struggle so tactics can change if need be.

You get a guaranteed 310 artefact, 310 ghost and 310+ additional piece of gear (providing you reach rank 5) - Nightfall, can drop up to 310 gear including 310 exotics. - special events (none running currently) but SRL and Crimson Doubled have both offered 310+ loot. - exotic sword quest, completion grants a 310 sword. - you can get a 300 light shotgun for completing a quest line, usually with a great PvP roll as well. Not sure the name of the quest line though.

Warpriest challenge this week. Anyone can be carried through that one. If you have a spindle than all the better. And if you don't at this point it's only your fault for not putting the effort in.

One thing no one seems to have mentioned yet is Shaxx weekly Crucible bounties. Helped me alot (all chars > 305 with no raids) since they are more frequent that IB and seemed to give better rewards than were being reported for NF.

Farm Court of Oryx until your eyes bleed. Week 1 of TTK I managed to hit 299 before enter the raid using that patrol mode, and after 2 raid bosses I was 301. By the end of the raid I was 303. Let me know if you need help.

I arrived 299 with nightfall. Then 300 with the raid. But i can't defeat the last boss though
