How did you go 300+?
I'm currently trying to top 300 so as to seem like a viable teammate for KF. I'm sitting at 295 ATM and think the next best step for me is to start doing the Nightfall and hoping for an upgrade, yet I see a a lot of "LFM for Nightfall, 300+", so it begs to question can you get to 300+ without running the Nightfall? How did you do it?

Get a group for Normal mode Kings Fall. That's the best/quickest way to 300+.

I did it by raiding. As long as you know how the encounters work, you should be good.

Is infusing a beef steak deep into you out of the question?

Special events like SRL and Crimson Doubles

The sword quest gets you a 310.

I know at least whenever I say 300+ I just put it so I don't get messages from like 280s. Try and run the raid on normal. Only part that might be difficult is oryx

Iron Banner is how I did it primarily. After that, 3 'o Coins began to drop 310s more often it seemed.

I drove my sparrow straight into another guardian. I kept his tote bag.

Believe it or not a 295 is a viable teammate for KF, and you should be 300+ hopefully by the end.

I get to 311 without raid i did: [b]NF[/b] for 310 exotics [b]IB[/b] for 305+ items for rank 5 and ghost and artifact in rank 3 and 5 [b]SRL [/b] (when that was) for 320 helmet and cloack And i sure that was more that i forgot

I did SRL when it was on and have loads of infusion stuff still in my vault all 310+ . Iron banner as well, currently at 310 and a half with all my good stuff on....never raided in my life :)

I raided, to be fair when the raid came out there weren't any 300s if there were it was only one or two.

As some others have said, 295 is fine for KF Normal. Also, with the "challenge" modes, you should be able to hit above 300 before you even get to Oryx (which I believe is the preferred light level to fight him at on normal). I am actually going in with a group of my friends who are at 300, 289 and 288 (me being 320). I feel even at those relative lower light levels, we won't have any issues. People just ask for 295 to 305, because it can make up for any player skill gaps if they exist.
