What's going on People? Suddenly Sunsingers are "OP"?
Well, for those out there who are unaware of our Struggle.....
*For Y2 players, Firebolts have been nerfed in TTK alongside ArcBolt greande, Firebolt previously dealt 97 Damage and got a range reduction; from 8 m effectiveness to 6 m.
*Sunsingers have been running Viking + Firebolt for over a year now. (And no one complained, so why now?)
*Neutral Play is everything we've got for PVP
*Sunsinger SubClass has an average k/d of 1.0, compared to other classes with higher K/D
*We'd be running different set ups if the other Perks weren't Jokes; Sunburst, Solar Wind, Song Of Flame, Brimstone. Take the Stormcaller or Nightstalker for example, all perks make up for diverse class mechanics.
*Fireborn in 6V6 is a Joke... and mostly in 3V3 too, a Real Sunsinger goes RadiantSkin.
*One Hit melee usually only procs once during Radiance
*Radiance is one of the easiest supers to shut down, seriously, It's laughable.
*Despite of being able to throw 13 grenades per Super (HoTPF and 100% Discipline) we often don't get QuadKills like the Gunslingers, Bladedancers, Stormcallers and Sunbreakers.
*If you don't have a discipline focused Build your only benefit from your Super is Increased Armor, wow.
*Your Super Effectiveness is totally Dependent on your Stats (Disp. Strenght.)
Destiny's CryBabies Will not put a filthy finger on the Sunsingers for We are a Beacon of Hope, Truth and Light.

1 ReplyNot suddenly they always were. Mostly firebolts in the past with burn was the problem. Well it still is but now it's king of grenades since arcbolts got nerfed so hard so that's why sunsinger is getting more attention. See two grenades sucks bc the cool down for the second grenade is two to three times longer then the first grenades cool down. So the issue is burn grenades. DOT has always been a problem in PvP. They need to solve this problem for Destiny 2 by taking DOT out of PvP and making more guns have DOT in pve. DOT ruins PvP imo. Plus the heart of praxic fire exotic chest piece is amazing for the sunsinger. With 100% discipline you can throw double the grenades with the chest piece on and radiance active then if you didn't have the chest piece on. It makes it so you can wipe a whole team with a couple grenades quickly too I might add. It's so op. The firebolts should have been nerfed when arcbolts were nerfed. Or it's DOT should of been taken out And another thing is the storm caller super is OP as -blam!-. It doesn't have shit loads of health or anything. It's simply it's ability to kill. I think transcendence shouldn't be an option. It makes the super last way too long. While using my storm caller Warlock in iron banner control back in October or November (don't remember when just that it was the fall and it was a control iron banner). But we were playing on pantheon and I was on a full team and the enemy team was on a team of 5. My team sucked pretty bad bc I was playing with a bunch of newbies. I was holding it down. I had 40 something kills at the end of the match. That really isn't that many but it was the reason we ended up winning. So we were neck at neck for most the game. The score was 17,000 to 17,000. They were trying to take B flag from us and they had C spawn to give you perspective. There were 3 on B flag shooting at me. I popped my super and I had transcendence active so I got the extended timer but I was taking DOT at the time so I ended up not regenerating my health. Well I ended up killing those 3 on flag but not before they neutralized it. But my whole team was now right there. So while 4 of them took B back I started moving toward their spawn on C flag. The other 3 enemy team members still alive were all right next to each other by the special ammo on their side. They were sniping toward the other special thinking they were over there not knowing our whole team was now on B except for me. I was bum rushing them. The fools were hard scoping and didn't even see me coming. It was an easy 3 kills bc I was using super conductor. Nowadays I would be using iconic blink for the mobility but I forgot to switch it but that extra distance saved my life while killing the first 3 on B. After killing those 3 I proceeded to the enemy spawn. The first 3 enemy's I killed had spawned and ran right into me again and I still had half of my super left. I easily killed them and turned to hit the other spawn on their side. I was the only one that pressed into their spawn so they literally spawned on top of me and I made quick kills of the last 3 to make it my second team wipe in one super use. That was the most kills I got with a single super in PvP. Needless to say I think that explains why people complain about the Warlock now. Transcendence shouldn't increase the amount of time you have your super active but do something like iconic blink doesn't take super to use or something. Anyway I hope you understand now why Warlock are so overpowered as -blam!-.

Edited by Descend: 2/26/2016 8:29:08 PMComing from a guy who does trials carries on all three characters: Sunsinger is by far the easiest to go flawless on and win games. It simply shuts down anyone with a single grenade and takes them out of the game for awhile. Gunfights are no longer: shoot until the other guy is dead. It's: shoot to barely bring down shield, throw grenade run away, guy is dead. You happen to tag two with a nade? Guess what? Round is over. It's ridiculous...

This is not surprising, although I honestly thought that with all the bitching I read about storm callers that they would be the scapegoat "BuNgO pls nerfz" flavor of the week. Players are going to die by something. It's just part of the game I promise. A few top YouTubers had themselves a tournament and a few played Sunsinger and all these lemmings didn't even question, just nodded in agreement and leapt right off the cliff. I bet they're all shouting "Let's Go!" along with "Good Shit! Good Shit!" the whole match too, right? I'm all for balance, but we all know Bungie doesn't do subtle. When they -blam!- that BEEN THE SAME SINCE DAY ONE subclass in the ass, and they will with this volume of dry vagina monologues, they'll be as mediocre as Sunbreakers. Then after said nerf I get to read about everyone complaining how useless they are. I'm starting to see now Bungie has quite literally an impossible job. So ok, you get the nerf... Then guess what? You better believe Nightstalkers will be next on the chopping block. They're the only class with shadestep or any such maneuver like it, having some frames of invincibility and it being able to throw off the (oh so OP /s) tracking firebolt grenade. Also the only subclass that has a second type of grenade as a Melee ability that does dmg over time, slows you down, disorients you and let's not forget also has the ability to turn them and their team invisible if they want to. But yea, let's talk about a class that's been the same since beta. Get the -blam!- outa here.

Sunsinger has always been above average powerful. Ridiculous grenade and awesome melee plus self rez for wtf clutch moments.

4 RepliesTry being a defender
-
Dude I was a sun bro main for all of year 1, they are just as strong as ever, easy to pull a 1.5+ with no effort and any load out. Their sub class caters to an up close game with ease
-
4 RepliesHaving a shit super is no justification for having a auto aim burn nade that does 155 damage across 8 seconds. You dont give up shit for it either, VF and ToF are obvious choices over the other perks.
-
5 RepliesJust trialed playing singer in elimination it was i have to say easier than my other classes
-
#whitepeopleproblems.

2 RepliesFirst fire bolts have 11 meters of range, second the reason why everyone cries nerf now is because with the damage nerf to Sunsinger they greatly buffed viking funeral, with this they greatly buffed sun singer neutral game, that's all I have to say
-
I can't counter it so I'm going to cry nerf.
-
I'm not crying, but if you use the subclass right it just seems better. The other night (check warlock recent games) I went into Control with a Doctrine, Felwinters, and Dark Drinker using Sunsinger with the Firebolt Build and Radiant Skin, plus Heart of the Praxic Fire with no upgrades. I just wanted to try it out and see how I did. I got, what, a 4 or 5 KD? I don't recall. All I know is that that's higher than I usually get on my Hunter. Anyway, started the game with a nice 10 streak then got panic Nova Bombed. After that it was mostly 5s. Let me tell you some things I noticed. For one, Flame Shield is insane in close quarters. Fly in, Melee a guy and get the shield, Melee him a second time and get the kill, turn around and shotgun another because it's harder to die with the flame shield. In close quarters engagements it was constant Double Downs because of the flame shield. And yes, I know, I was using Felwinters, but it has the same stats as Conspiracy Theory in terms of Range and Impact. But anyway, let's also talk Firebolts. Obviously I felt like a god when I used these and felt like I really had to hold on to my Grenade and use it it the right spot just because of how much of an advantage it has for you. It lets you track your enemies, it keeps their shields down, and keeps their health low so that when you get to them it's just a Melee or a couple of shots from Doctrine and they're dead. Now the Super, in my case Radiant Skin specifically. Honestly I don't know what I could've done without it and how I would've fared with Self Rez instead. What I would do is just whenever I see a group of enemies I'll run in with my Radiant Skin and just start tossing grenades and meleeing people. Usually they're focused on the rest of my team so they can't Focus Fire and I can run in and kill everyone. I got at least a triple on all three separate occasions that I used my super. The subclass just feels better altogether than most other subclasses I've played.

35 RepliesA warlock and titan were walking around the moon one day. Titan: "Arggh, my Hammers! They're so heavy! I used to be so good with them, you know." Warlock: "Yes, I know. Until the Huntards nerfed yo-" Titan: "SHHH, they might hear you! One little mention of them will get you nerfed, trust me!" Warlock: "Alright, alright." They keep walking, but soon after they stop in front of a cavern. Warlock: "I just don't understand. They want my firebolt grenades nerfed now. If he who must not be named nerfs me, I swear." Titan: "Wait." The Titan and warlock hear whispering of the word "nerf" coming from the cavern. The Warlock uses her angel of light to look down. What she sees makes her scream in panic. Titan: "What?! What is it?" Warlock: "We've woken the Huntards! There's too many of them! RUN!" The Huntards are screeching the word "nerf" now. Titan: "I feel...strange." Warlock:"No, not now!" The Titan falls over, barely mobile. Warlock: "What's wrong?" Titan: "Feel...so..burned out.." The Huntards surround the warlock and the Titan. Huntards: "Nerf STORMCALLER! Nerf Sunsinger! TOO OP! NERF NERF NERF!!" All of a sudden, a hole comes from the ground. It's no other than Deej, the nerfing King. Deej: Hello, my fellow Huntards! Huntards in Sync: "Hello, Deej" Deej: "Well well well, it seems as if our warlocks here have become dominant! Let me give her a small tuning" Deej lifts her up and the warlock grimaces. Warlock: "No..please..." She feels herself weakening, losing her power among the storm. Losing her flames. Everything. Titan: "NO! Not this time!" The Titan flies into the sky and casts his Fist of Havoc. He launches all the Huntards and Deej into the air, and sends them out into the cavern. Warlock: "Th..thank you.." Titan: "eh... Don't menti-" Huntard: "neeeerfff!!" The Titan shoulder charges the final Huntard. Warlock: "you really enjoy that, don't you?"

1 ReplyAll I say is that people don't take into account how awful this class is at moving. It cant close the or escape. I just hope its not nerfed to complete uselessness. The melee grenade are the best but the super is the easiest to counter there is. I say take the melee grenade and give blink. It would work nicely with the lore.

The complaints started ramping up during crimson days doubles as the event was vanilla. People were getting pissed with the firebolt thorn combo. 2 locks with that set up wrecked. I prefer using fusion grenades (2 of them by the way) they don't burn like firebolts they stick and kill...oh ya and they track a bit too. I agree with you that complaining now is annoying. I main a sunsinger and it's a fun class. I beleive all classes are balanced now
-
Gonna let my salt flow here
Sunsinger "mains" can go eat a frank
-
Doesn't Scorch do 199 damage with Touch of Flame and Viking Funeral? I'm sorry but I think that's too much.
-
*2 Meter nerf isn't that much considering an Arcbolt doesn't even lower a guardians shields *Everything else got nerfed so Sunsinger is finally showing up *Your class is 99% neutral play and is the strongest out of any other *KD honestly doesn't mean shit *Yeah the perks suck, which is why the class needs tweaking done to it *Fireborn is one of the better supers for trials, anything else you would use NB or Stormcaller *Longest melee range and the best overall melee out of any class *So is HoS, Gunslinger, Bladedancer, and Stormcaller *Keep in mind this is the warlocks "Support" class, it's meant to support not kill. Just look at Defender Bubbles *Wow, just extra armor? That doesn't help at all(Sarcasm) *Most other supers don't allow you to resurrect yourself from death TL;DR Viking Funeral with Firebolt is the only real issue right now, not the class itself. Just lower the amount of burn Ticks, or reduce the overall damage of the burn Ticks

1 ReplyI have my best KDR on my warlock and I hardly play it. It's easy mode.
-
2 RepliesEdited by Great_Championz: 2/25/2016 11:36:13 AMWhy do people make playing a sunsinger seem harder than it actually is. I will have to agree with the majority here. The duration of the firebolt grenades is a bit ridiculous. Along with the fact that you can derp toss the grenade and send someone out of action for 12+ seconds.
-
Everyone is just complaining because nothing else is op right now, funny how this was never a problem before
-
4 RepliesIf everyone says its so OP then why dont they just use it?
-
Can't handle playing in in pvp. Pve no issues. Ai is too stupid to run from grenades.
