In the past it has been difficult to find out why you were banned and for how long. That made it hard to know what you were doing wrong, until now. Based on your feedback, we have updated the site to send you notifications. That will include a link to the offending content as well as information for how long the ban will last. As of right now this only works on desktop. We are still working on better mobile notifications.
Our Ninjas have been given much better tools to help keep this place clean. You can do your part by reporting any posts that you feel break the Code of Conduct. Be excellent to each other.

18 RepliesEdited by janen06: 2/18/2016 6:10:13 AMAwesome. Great news. I'm tired of coming on these forums and seeing nothing but immature, inappropriate and rude comments towards others. I do my part and report everyone who is being disrespectful to other players. I suggest everyone else do the same. These forums aren't going to clean themselves up. I vote for permanent bans for people who continue to spread hate. this made my day to see how many people violated the code of conduct just from this post I'd love to tell you how original and entertaining your posts were but sadly you've been banned. So sorry.

Thanks for the news!
I have never been banned, I feel accomplished :)
A.k.a: Welcome back to the system which is essentially the same thing we had for years but for rid of because we felt like it in 2013.
-
6 Repliesmaybe soon you can find a way to make the avoid player system work, like when we get a team from a far off land with horrible internet connection and we click to avoid those particular players yet somehow end up in the next match with the same exact people. what the heck is the point of having the option if its a complete failure. if you put to avoid someone or a team you should never end up in a match with them again, like blocking anyone on any other internet program

Quick question tho. If it takes them to a link of the offensive content and that content has been removed how will they know what got them banned?
-
So now you do have time to explain why you had no time to explain (previously)?
-
6 RepliesCan you tell me why I was banned in game? Because I didn't do a damn thing wrong.
-
6 RepliesAnyone remember this?
-
5 RepliesModerate deez nuts!

4 RepliesEdited by ElectricCoconut_: 2/17/2016 2:03:05 PMWhat if we all reported this post?
-
1 ReplyBungie - focused on sh!tty events, micro transactions and silencing players over actual content. Fcking con artists...

This is actually nice. I was recently temp banned, and it was certainly frustrating not knowing how long it would be for. Especially because the notification I received was labeled as a warning and not a restriction or ban. I didn't even know I was banned until a couple of days later when I realized nothing I was posting was getting replies. And then I tried viewing my posts while logged out and noticed that only I could see my posts on while on my account. No one else could.

Edited by esponja_bala: 2/17/2016 5:25:01 PMSooo... Picked up a temporary ban for informing another player that his use of a particular word would not be appreciated by a particular group of males. I tried to help the other player and got banned for it??? I know that you have to set examples, but that is a little much. Especially considering all of the offensive content JUST IN THIS THREAD ALONE has yet to be dealt with (and will not be dealt with).

22 RepliesAdd more micro transactions if you need to we are all behind you no matter what.
-
2 RepliesDoesn't work. I just got a notification, but it doesn't take me anywhere and does not include a description. I'm on iPhone.

7 RepliesCool if only you'd fix the "item not found" bug while trying to take things from the vault but hey baby steps.
-
Cozmo.... please tell me that was a Bill and Teds reference!!!!!

So does spoiling a movie count as breaking the code of conduct?
-
Solid change

Very nice.

Good, it's time that some of the more vitriolic comments were removed. Perhaps some of the other Bungie employees ( and yes I am referring to Leif who should have known better despite the fact that he was set up by Planet Destiny )may then come to their own forum to garner some of the great ideas and suggestions that are posted here. Thanks for trying to involve this forum, at least you recognise that we on b. Net are not all bottom feeders
