THE INFUSION SYSTEM NEEDS TO BE REMOVED

The only purpose for this level system is to increase the grind and have people play more. I prefer a regular level system over something that make me play certain activities to get to the max level (which doesn't even matter). The fact that RNG decides what level I am is absolutely stupid. The amount of ignorance put into this level system is beyond shocking. What are your thoughts on infusion?   • I like the infusion system. It's a way to 'transmog' the equipment you like. Find a piece of armor you like and never want to get rid of just infuse it.

  • The infusion system should be kept but you can infuse any piece of gear with any other piece of gear. Also it should bring the item infused up to the level of the previous piece of gear.

  • I like the infusion idea but it would be great if you infuse anything with anything. So I could put a 320 heavy into my 318 class item.

    • Max level is irrelevant. If you are 315 you can do pretty much anything a 320 can. Infusion is fine except they really don't know what they are doing and it's all our fault. People complain that they don't listen. I'm going to say we're here because they do listen. Vault weapons were to powerful. They should have died back then when CE came out. But people bitched and complained and they gave in and created etheric light. (lets just put aside the horrible exotic upgrade Xur thing in CE for now) This created the problem we have now. Everyone wanted their old gear and weapons to remain relevant. Well even though year 1 items are dead they are still very relevant. You can go into any crucible match and still find people using thorn. Quite frankly it's our own fault. We play this game like we are building a collection. Never getting rid of anything. It's a mess to balance. What they should have done is make each release cause older gear to give you a major penalty. Wanna use Thorn? Fine. You'll get one shot by a Taken King auto rifle. They should have made it like an RPG like Final Fantasy. You get a better weapon you toss away the old one. (with the exception of having multiple options each "season") It's all a total mess and quite frankly the best coarse of action is to scrap everything for the next major release (Destiny 2). All of it goes. Start fresh. That won't happen though. People are to attached to their favorites. It's a mess, and I don't think they can fix it. For now the best they can do is make it so all raid gear drops at 320 on hard mode. At least that way people will feel better about running it and getting something. IDK

    • My thoughts are that, like many people, you are getting infusion and loot drops confused. Infusion is a good idea, the loot drops are terrible.

      • They should have allowed etheric light to be used as infusion fodder. 1 light = +1 on any item. But they want the grind to continue because they don't have any new content lined up.

      • I don't think that Bungie will add any substantial content to Destiny until 2017 (Destiny 2 launch) so it's pointless whatever change they'll make to the actual leveling system.

        • I like the infusion system, it's the loot drops that are the problem. Kings fall normal gear should drop at 310 always. Kings fall hard gear should drop at 320 always. Trials gear should drop at 320 always. Iron banner gear should be sold at 300, and drop at least at that gear slot's current level or higher. Same for nightfall.

        • Personally I like the infusion system. It gives you variety on what weapons to use and armour to wear. Year 1 was everyone walking around on the raid or poe gear. The infusion system gives more variety. However, the rng needs fixing a little.

        • They should have done slot infusion, so you have a light level on a weapon or armor slot rather than a gun. That means you can use whatever guns and gear you want without it decreasing your overall light..

        • I think infusion is a great idea, makes leveling a little bit more of a challenge but also an unnecessary grind. I don't agree with the fact that it's tied to rng. Why should we have to play the raid weeks on end trying to get something that's makes us +1 or +2 light levels higher. How it should work is that your always guaranteed something of higher light in raids and end game activities and then we can infuse gear that doesn't drop as high as those activities. In my opinion the old way had less grinding involved and was way more straight forward than the current system. This is something Bungie needs to look back into.

        • I agree completely, but it's pretty obvious that they extended the grind because they knew that they weren't going to have any content for year 2.
