Hi I don't know where to begin and I know it sound awkward ...
I am a girl gamer and had been playing Destiny since the day it launched. Love the game and specially Pvp ( my previous teammates like to recruit me because I am quite a killer and usually get top 2 scores in pvp) But I don't really like turning my mic on because people always mistaken me as a young kid no matter how many times I told them I am a girl ...I am actually 20+ and studying oversea .
My native language are not English and my friends' time zone is 8 hours earlier than mine now. Though few of them are very happy to have me as raid teammates, most of them prefer a male player (despite his skills are really bad and having bad attitude) than me.
I have always been a decent raid and pvp player , receiving a lot of positive feedbacks from other players . I seldom make mistakes and I am very happy to help new players to do raids or missions...but it seems gender is more important than the person's attitude to them.
Tried making new friends in the forum and joining new raid teams, sadly I felt very uncomfortable because some people just assume girls are very bad at gaming. And they would put all the blame on me when something goes wrong during the raid and all I do is doing exactly what they say...I just want to have fun and making new friends in the same time zone or others. It's really sad that all I get is blaming and discrimination.
It's really hard to find settled teammates now...my teammates from my former clan has been dismissed and some of them has joined other clan already. Though they would recruit me when there is a spot, as I said I am a girl, they rather ask a rude male player to join them. Was I really lack the humor of a male player or i am just not good enough to team with them.
I don't do Destiny's raid or nightfalls as often as before. Mostly pvp now because I am so tired of people keep blaming me because i am a girl. I rather getting hate messages from the opposing team than discriminated .
It would be nice to have friends and settled teammates who love playing Destiny like I do.

4 RepliesVisualhawk... You can add me I'll play with anybody. Nobody should be denied or turned away from anything.
-
I'd offer to let you come play with us ... But I'm boycotting destiny next week as a divorced 40 yr old I don't want to have my paid for leasure time ruined by -blam!-ing valentines ... Seems it's a bad week to be looking for new players unless you want to be romantically linked to said players
-
Aw sorry. I almost never use my mic so I've never had to deal with issues like that :PP

Edited by boi: 2/8/2016 11:06:14 PMI think it's because you're hanging with the wrong people.. The forums is full of immature players. I don't think you'll find the nice and genuine players hanging around here often. Hint: I have at least 10 girl gamers I play destiny with. Lol

Feminazis Stand down please.

1 ReplyYou probably get discriminated against and blamed because you don't use -blam!-ing indentations

Gender does not matter with me. I even play with lil kids as long as they are chill and are not loud all the time and I definitely don't hit on girls over the mic or miss treat them, it is so wrong to do so.
-
I automatically assume a woman on the other mic if I hear a feminine voice but will ask if they are a boy.
-
2 RepliesWell, I wouldn't go around calling yourself a 'girl gamer' for starters. I detest those words. Just ignore the assholes who make you feel that way. I have to say, no one has discriminated me for being female so I can't imagine being in your shoes but I can say I'm here to play, not discuss my gender and if anyone wants to make me feel bad or say I'm bad at the game because I'm a girl then good for you. Because I don't care and you opinion is invalid ;) There are plenty of friendly people out there, don't let the bad ones change your views on others.

You see.....the real problem at hand is......people dont even talk to me. They hear me in the party when I join and they ALL leave. I always get booted when they find out. Hate messages everywhere..... I'm what you humans call....
a goat
3 RepliesEdited by crazeeavery: 2/9/2016 12:09:32 AMUnfortunately thats BOYS in every game online not just destiny. You need to find a mature clan. Playing with randoms is a crap shoot. Even posting on here looking for friend's your going to get pervs and idiots. I'd say add me but I'm in the States.

1 ReplyEdited by Uncha1n3dSky: 2/8/2016 5:17:03 PMI didn't know that you have to classify yourself as a girl gamer... I remember before this social gaming trend started everyone called themselves as gamers... Every gamers are equal to each other except there gaming stats, but nowadays just to get a validation girls would always have to say "i'm a girl gamer". Nobody cares what gender you are... But one thing for sure is, if you can carry yourself in any game then anybody will be down to play with you... Fun fact: guys are uncomfortable when theres a female gamer, they lost their cool or start chocking on what to say because they assume all sorts of things...

1 ReplyGirl driver Girl worker Girl wages If you classify your difference you can't be upset when people notice, judge, and act on those differences.

Edited by LakotaBlues: 2/8/2016 8:05:51 PMI could care less what sex or age the person I'm playing with is as long as they don't annoy the hell out of me. If you are a PSN player you can add me to your friends list. I mostly play PVE though.
-
Well if you're looking for someone to help out with your stuff, feel free to add me I'll help when I can
-
Add me on ps4. I'll play with you if you're decent pvp - no matter gender or age - just be cool.
-
Mistaking girls for children? I do that all the time... Is that a problem? I didn't know it was making people mad or something... also...
Paragraph god damnit!
Join a chill clan. There are a few women in the clan I run with and they are all respected as fellow players by all members. The fact that they are women doesn't make a difference in my book, they're Destiny players all the same. TL;DR: just find the right kind of people and stick with 'em
-
They key to getting guy gamers to play with you is first of all don't post a novel. 2nd of all just post one short sentence. "I play games, I have steak, beer, and I'm on the pill" Then you will get friends galore
-
You know I'm a teen gamer everyone thinks I suck but I do better then my hole team!!!! And to make you feel better I played with a girl only group and it was the fastest funniest hard raid I ever done
-
You should look into the Sisterhood of Guardians. They have a lot of people from all time zones and they're very nice to play with, I would highly recommend it.
