Exotic hand cannon: The Rose
I think it would be pretty awesome if bungie would introduce another exotic weapon due to the crimson days thing. And the because this event is valentine related bungie could make the weapon be the rose for lore reasons and the event.
They could make it a quest that you activate by doing something during the event. Making a lil mission with someone talking about Dredgen Yor and some other steps and then you acquire the rose.
Ok so the actual weapon itself would be the mid rof and mid impact archetype. (The ones that are like 86 for criticals in PvP) it will resemble the thorn but have more rounded corners and edges. It'll look smoother. It'll be a very deep red or hot pink. The bullets will be a dark red that leaves a pink trail behind it. So the weapon will spawn with exotic perk power of the petals: getting a precision kill with this weapon grants the broken heart buff for a short time. (5-8 secs). It then it will have range finder. And the mid perks will go as listed perfect balance, explosive rounds, or casket mag. The final perk will be crowd control.

Hopefully y'all like the idea it might seem OP but I think it would fit in especially with the state hand cannons are in now. But comment any suggestions!

So apparently the thorn and the rose are the same gun... I wasn't aware of that😂😅. But anyway scratch off all the cosmetics of the weapon and make it look like the thorn, besides the color it should still be different in looks even though it's the same gun.
People have been saying the exotic perk is good but would soon get nerf because it'll probably be OP. I think I may have come up with a solution. The exotic perk will be divided into 3 perks. (Kind of like Boolean Gemini or suros regime with focus fire and spinning up). Out of the three perks you will have to choose if you want your precision kills to give you buffed armor, buffed recovery, or buffed agility. The buff will last 9 seconds and can be stacked up to 3 times. That makes the crowd control perk even more useful!

12 RepliesSorry to burst your bubble but there was never a second cannon. Rose didn't transform into Thorn, Dredgen just saw it and himself differently. It's a metaphor for how Dredgen saw himself. When he thought he was still a good person he carried a Rose, but looking at himself and seeing what a monster he actually was proved different. Looking down he saw no petals, only jagged thorns.

We don't even know how strong the Broken Heart buff is yet; so I'm not sure it's a good idea for that buff to be readily available from a precision kill.

Make it work like NTTE, you have the actually thorn but also have the choice to upgrade it.

5-8 seconds seems short but in reality that is a crazy amount of time. 3-5 is better

I like the idea of swapping the perks out like that to favor the stats you want. Also to keep the weapon from being OP.

I think it would be cool for a daily heroic mission to have a quest to get the Rose, where the part of the mission only activates when the person starts and finishes the level with the alternate path with Thorn equipped.

1 ReplyI certainly will like the Rose to be an Exotic acquired by a nifty quest. I specifically like the idea of it having to do with using/purifying Thorn. I'd hope it'd be alot like Thorn but with a different main perk, that or something opposite to Thorn entirely (like the way First Curse is to The Last Word).

Good idea even though thorn and rose are the same gun. They are only different because of how Yor sees them as he becomes more evil.
