Sniper Rifles are just way to easy to use in any situation. They should be hard and slow to handle, slow to change weapon, and only good for long range shots. If you are in a close quarters fire fight, the sniper rifle SHOULD LOSE! Bungie's refusal to change is costing them players.

Let me guss you using a shotgun?

Get a better medal score before asking for changes in pvp.

I like the perk Unflinching on my Snipers.

You don't deserve an opinion pleb

Do you shotgun?

Sorry but you do not know what is like with the SBMM up in the high levels of crucible. It is like motherfacking battlefield now if you are out in the open you are going to die.

2 RepliesEdited by zJDz: 2/2/2016 9:32:18 PMThere is nothing wrong with them. They have not changed the entire time destiny has been out. The only difference is SBMM where you are always going up against people that are as good or better than you. It's player skill that is killing you not the snipers. Those same players killing you with snipers could kill you with sidearms, shotguns, and fushion rifles too. Also those same players would probably destroy you while using NLB which is a skill weapon. Also you have one character at 40 and a 400k medal score come back when you have 1 million + medal score and all three characters at 40.

While getting sniped is annoying, I agree, they have to be usable. They should be a viable option from shotguns. They aren't too easy. They are just as easy as shotguns for the appropriate ranges. And close range sniper kills are lucky, but will happen. You can't just say a bullet fired from a gun does no damage at close range. If they get lucky and hit you it will do damage. What they should do is buff sidearms and fusions to balance the mix. Get people using all 4 with their strengths and weaknesses. But if you want to look at what secondary I get killed by the most, it's not a sniper. And if it is, you need to learn to stay out of sniper lanes.

4 Replies*Amount of flinch on snipers needs to be increased . *Zoom of all scopes need to be increased. *Ability to quick scope/shoot while raising scope to look down it needs to be entirely eliminated. Anything else to add?

1 ReplySnipers are fine. Auto aim doesn't make bullets magically curve. Stop challenging hallways/corners when you see a red light. Though I wouldn't be against flinch being increased, it is a bit ridiculous that I can take someone face while they are shooting at me.

Newbies demanding changes needs a fixin.

3 RepliesI believe if you get shot you should drop zoom
-
Listen, if u get killed by a sniper at close range, the guy got either lucky or is really good. Snipers dont auto-aim. You cant prove they do, while there is outstanding evidence they dont. Take it from someone who was more experiance than you. I have 10000000 medal score between 3 characters to your 400000. I know k/d doesnt mean much but i have a 1.8, and in these SBMM times its not exactly easy to maintain. Snipers are fine, but i do think scopes should zoom more and flinch should be looked at.

5 RepliesIf anything on this specific subject. Snipers just need a tweak to flinch. Everyone should've experienced this situational. You just are casually roaming a map and spot a sniper. You are using a weapon that you know will win this gun fight and it's near mid range. For example, mida. You start firing off your shots not missing a single one, but magically the sniper domes you and mida has high caliber rounds and then you are left dumbfounded as to how you even lost a gun fight. In conclusion, the stagger or flinch for snipers are so minimal that it doesn't seem very effective unless using an lmg or maybe a sidearm (not so sure there.) and it's just best to take another route to avoid being sniped. If most players snipe and I for one am one that snipes, (but use my occasional god roll party crasher time to time.) we should be more than fine with a bit more flinch added, while scoped in. That's just me though and how I feel about it.

Anything can beat anything on just random chance. So, a sniper winning CQC isn't a problem if it is a low probability event.
-
They'd lose more if snipers got nerfed

1 ReplyThe only thing that needs to be changed is the amount of flinch needs to be increased when being shot.

You are retarded

I agree, I just hope they don't ruin them for PvE as well. But I think there needs to be a change to special ammo in general.

2 RepliesSnipers r so ez to use. I never use sniper but I just started for fun cuz everyone is and damn that shit ez af.

Haha get rekt. snipers aren't changing

Edited by contra_reality: 2/2/2016 9:09:38 PMNot really, if you are at shotgun range with a sniper the guy with the shotgun will win 9/10 times. The 1/10 that it doesn't is due to a combination of blind ass luck and stupidity on the part of the shotgunner. The majority of sniper kills are pre-aimed. Simply rethink how you round corners. If someone is pre-aimed with a one hit kill weapon then they will probably win that engagement if you walk where they are pre-aiming. This goes for situations where people camp around corners with shotguns. Be cognizant of common sniper lanes and change how you approach a target if you are seen. That being said, I do agree that special weapons are not designed properly. The current state of special weapons has been flawed for the longest time by the simple fact that Bungie holds the same relationships with the numbers as they do with primary weapons. In general, impact with rate of fire and range with stability. With primary weapons this makes sense since generally primary weapons are not one hit kill weapons. Unfortunately these relationships are applied to special weapons as well when they shouldn't be. Does fire rate matter when the entire class of weapon is a one hit kill at optimal range and aim? Not at the slightest. At most a special weapon is a 2 hit kill regardless of impact rating so rate of fire is moot. For shotguns, range and impact need to be inversely related if a tradeoff were to occur. Likewise, impact and handling for snipers. Now contrary to popular belief on these forums, handling and aim assist are two completely differently attributes. If you could snipe off a revive then you shouldn't be able to whip out that sniper as quickly as a sniper that would require a double tap to kill off the revive. This is common sense. Without tradeoffs there is zero incentive to use anything but a certain subclass of weapon (high impact high range shotguns or high impact snipers). This leads to no diversity in weapons in crucible as there is absolutely no reason to use anything but the mentioned subclasses of weapons. That and making special weapon ammo less abundant.

They're not broken.
