Dredgen Yor still isn't a confirmed hunter.
So please stop acting like we know.
Officially his class has only been reffered to as "[REDACTED]".
As for that cloak?
Saying "mark/cloak/bond of ____" doesn't necessarily mean it belonged to the subject.
It could simply be a reference or tribute to a person, place, or thing.
Examples:
Mark of Thalor, a Titan mark made in remembrance of a great Titan Thalor. It is [b]not[/b] a mark [i]worn by Thalor[/i].
Mark of Six fronts, a tribute to a famous battle.
There's also mark of the dauntless and mark of the sunforged but I don't want to write about them because then I couldn't use my hands to drink my Coca-cola.
Sorry all the examples are Titan related, those are just the ones I know about off the top of my head because of all the flavor text I've read as a Titan main.

If a Titan's head can be a warlock artifact then a Warlock's/Titan's rose could be a hunter artifact.
I'm not saying dredgen Yor isn't a hunter.
I'm just saying it's not confirmed until bungie reveals it ([i]if[/i] they reveal it).
It could be a hunter artifact simply because he was killed by a hunter, more of a trophy than a disgrace.
So anyways continue to theorize on what class he was all you want.
But don't act like anything is confirmed until it's actually confirmed.

Not confirmed but extremely likely he's a hunter. Most gear named after a guardian is for the same class as that guardian. If you read about him, his tactics and behavior even seem more like those of a hunter. Warlock would care more about space magic for offensive purposes than a gun. Titans tend to gravitate more towards armor and blunt weapons. Every Hunter super is converting space magic into the form of a weapon. No warlock supers do this and only one Titan super does, but as a blunt brute force weapon rather than a precision based weapon. As for the hunt for Dredgen Yor, hunters are known to be both the best trackers and most elusive. The fact that it took so long for a group of hunters to track him down would suggest he was a hunter. Titans aren't known for being sneak. A warlock can be sneaky given those like Toland and Osiris, but I don't think even they could elude hunters on a fresh trail that long. As for thorn being a HC, there a very strong association between hunters and HCs in destiny. But yeah nothing fully proven. I'd say Dredgen Yor would either be a hunter or a warlock and more likely the former. Can't think of a single piece of lore that'd suggest a Titan.

This just show how garbage of a job bungie has done to the game and it's not existing story mode, like no one knows anything about anything and all we are left with is guessing

It also states that he dwelled in hive rituals and was obsessed with destroying them. This is what lead to him changing and becoming who he eventually was known as. What other characters were known to be obsessed and driven mad? Osiris and Toland which were both warlocks. Some of it seems to explain that he not only would physically kill his enimies, but rend them to the point of not being human. Kinda like a warlock melee soul rip? Just speculation though.

How do we know that he/she (I don't know) was a banana peel found by a hive knight in the cosmodrome, then that knight took it to Oryx and oryx filled that banana peel with dark power to make it be able to be like a human? Then that banana peel went back into the cosmodrome and was ambushed by fallen and saved by a grapefruit... Then they both travelled back to the tower, and then the grapefruit showed the banana peel to the speaker and then the speaker asked the traveller to make it a guardian and give it a ghost... Then that banana peel (AKA Dredgen Yor) then made a weapon based of the time he feel into a rose bush and got poked by, you guessed it... Thorns! But those thorns were actually daggers, so then Dredgen Yor then created... The thorn that shoots the daggers he found in the same bush he/she fell into...? How do we know that isn't Dredgen Yor's true story? (And no... I actually know this isn't but I made this up for some reason I don't know)

11 RepliesI picture him as a hunter because of the way he is described. Most warlocks are described as having studied the darkness and then being seduced by it, but yor seems like he was more about action.

Edit: what I mean is, if you read the grimoire, the "noble man" didn't take the name Dregden Yor until he had fallen to the darkness. Whoever he was before was a guardian, sure, but by the time he was Yor, the light was all gone.
