I'll try it solo first. I play in the morning solo and team up at night. If solo is really rough, I'll get my medallions, work on the bounties, and tee myself up for when I can get with my team.

There's hundreds of you complaining about it, imagine if you took the same effort to find each other and play together as you do to whine about it instead. Besides, just because you have a team doesn't promise you'll win. I've played rift with a team before and lost to randoms.

I'm just gonna go defender and bubble that spark with blessing and improved blessing to give my runner a better chance at survival or I might go striker and death from above that rift. Multi kill heaven.

Yes. But Bungie needs data and we're their game testers. Most games hire people to test their games. Bungie figured out how to use it's paid player base to do their work for them. Pretty genius of them. Slimy, but smart I guess. Making that $$.

Technically speaking are all objective style game types a F you to solo players? Yet I play control, rift and salvage when I want to and get along just fine.
