Why do so many people think that black spindle is needed for a raid?
I see many people on lfg sites looking for people with black spindle. Why? Ye I know that the weapon has great impact, but it doesn't really matter. Every time we die after we've damaged a boss in the raid, e.g. Warpriest and golgoroth, I view the dps made by each person.
With a 1000 yard stare, I did more overall damage than all of my other friends with a black spindle.
I read a post about a guy who had a 320 black spindle, then switched it to a rare 280 weapon, yet still killed the warpriest in two tries. This proves that no matter what legendary or rare year two sniper you use, black spindle is not superior and NOT needed for a raid.

It's not needed but is superior no one has ever manage to deal more damage then me in golgoroth or warpriest using a weapon other then BS.

I tried a 317 SGA for shiggles once and unloaded all my heavy in a single round with an ammo increase and that didn't out damage a spindle on Golgorth (if you know what you're doing and get weapons effectively spindle will win here) but a 1kys and sleeper will out DPS the spindle on warpriest no doubt. Even the ToM will out damage it on warpriest using BoL. I use mine solely for Golgy other than that I wouldn't use it for the raid.

If you had the spindle maybe you would do even more damage? Maybe you are a better sniper than the rest of your crew.

2 RepliesI use my 1000k stare purely because I was unable to get the spindle until recently. The 1000k stare does just about the same amount of damage as the spindle and in some cases I was doing more damage to the warpriest than spindle owners

The example of the 280 blue is A not sure if is true, B it could just mean the others are really good with DPS, I've 2 cycled the warpriest multiple times as a 5 man. It could also just mean the people you are with just suck at aiming

2 RepliesThe ammo regeneration factor on the Spindle is perfect for bosses, and the Raid is no exception i would imagine. It keeps your precision DPS constant against bosses with large, obvious weak spots.

12 RepliesEnough with these stupid posts. Black spindle makes it easier for war rpiest and golgy. Simple as that. If your using a stare and you are getting more damage than a spindle, it means the player with the spindle is not getting crit shots. It also means your team didnt kill the boss if your seeing the damage output, so does it really matter who is doing the most damage when you have to wipe? The stare is a great gun and can also be used for the raid. It can be argued that with the right combination of load out and gun roll, it may be possible to out dps a spindle in a controlled scenario. Groups looking for spindle plauers are not necessarily elitists. They just want to get through the boss as efficiently as possible. Use what you have for the raid, get the spindle if the opportunity allows for it. I have beaten war priest and golgy woth spindles, stares, eirenes and sleepers. I also did it in one round using 5 touch of malices with blessing and weapons. Would you rather beat war priest in one round or 3?

Black Spindle IS superior, but it is NOT NEEDED. Blank Spindle had the highest DPS of any sniper rifle in the game. End of story. But that is not [i]NEEDED[/i] for the raid. [b]Obviously[/b], since it was completed before we even knew how to GET the slight.

They couldn't complete VoG or Crota without Gally, you know they can't kill Oryx without the Spindle! Why are you surprised?
