People are legitimately complaining about warlocks?

Let me get this correct. You're whining about [i]warlocks.[/i] The class that doesn't get whined at and is even. Because what, it has damage resistance a super is supposed to and it killed you? Because you usually whine but they already nerfed Sunbreaker? I don't get it. Someone genuinely please explain this to me; I'm dumbfounded.

  • First off, it sounds like no matter what anyone says you are going to dismiss it. If you actually cannot see why Warlocks are OP than I will explain it to you. I have mained a Warlock since TDB. Through all of the changes Bungie has made, Warlocks have been relatively untouched. Warlocks beat out Hunters for the strongest neutral game right now. Prior to 2.0 Hunters QuickDraw was the one factor they had over Warlocks. Especially since blink was king. Now that blink has been nerfed, QuickDraw is still very useful but not as much as before, Warlocks have undoubtedly the best neutral game. Sunsinger>Gunslinger. Fire bolt, and fusion grenades beat out Incendiary and Tripmine. When you add the burn on top of the fire bolt damage it becomes way to powerful. The super might not be that effective in 6v6 but 3v3 and Rumble is currently ruled by Sunsingers. The fact that one grenade leaves you one shot, and nullifies regeneration of health for 14 seconds is just insane. If you are running max discipline you would already be half way to your next grenade. This is why all the "tryhards" run Sunsinger and TLW or Thorn. Why engage in a gunfight when you can toss a grenade hit them in the toe once and watch them burn out? A coordinated team of 3 Sunsingers will dominate almost any other team. Why do you think sweaties have made it so there can only one of each subclass? Storm caller>Bladedancer. Storm callers are not "INSANELY OP!!!!" like some people suggest. However, the super lasts way to damn long. 30 seconds of damage resistance and the ability to chain kills is definitely not balanced. You can argue that it takes up perk slots but no other perks even compare to Transecedence strength. "Oh it requires your grenade and melee to be charged so it's balanced!" This would be true if max discipline and strength builds didn't give you your grenade in ~30 seconds. Voidwalker is in a good place. Buffing its PvE damage significantly would do wonders for the subclass. The melees are good but not OP. The grenades are good but not OP. Shade step, sliding into axion bolts nullifies almost all of the damage. Scatter grenades require some level of accuracy or you won't secure the kill. Vortex nova bombs needs to be buffed a little bit. I would add a few more seconds and add a second explosion at the end of the DoT affect. This would be awesome for bosses. I imagine it working similar to the magnetic grenade where it explodes twice but there is DoT in between. Right now while specials run rampant in the crucible, Warlocks have the best neutral game. Titans have decent neutrals but nothing that compares to Warlocks. Bungie doesn't need to nerf them into the ground but bring them more in line with other subclasses. Of course some will be better than others but trying to reach perfect balance is important.

      • The main thing I'm starting to hate is firebolt vikining funeral touch of flame nades. Those need to be adjusted imo.

        • Their burn on the firebolt grenades shouldn't last that long, weather it is a trade off or not. That should be the same across all Characters as well. (Hunters, Titans, etc..) That's all though.

          • People are just confused. Warlocks SEEM overpowered, but this is only because Bladedancer and Sunbreaker have been mishandled so badly with all the nerfs. It's a complex situation that the average player can't seem to properly understand. There is a difference between something that is overpowered and something that is overused due to bad balancing.

          • If there were no rules against it, all the people in competitive matches would run sunsinger. That should tell you something. Close eyes, throw grenade, leave entire team 1 shot. Close eyes, melee, have shield for 15 seconds with or without kill. Close eyes, die, res, throw 10 grenades and kill 12 people. That all sounds OP as hell but I'm not sure it is. It's just annoying. Sunsingers are on the lower/mid spectrum of pvp k/d AFAIK and taking away any of those abilities would likely cripple them.

                          The warlocks super is pretty worthless in pvp. Melee is good but that's about it. Everyone needs to stop complaining every time u get killed by something. If your good it doesn't matter what u use or what class u play against. I'm average at pvp but I don't complain about nerfing stuff. Get better and stop crying.

                          • 1 Flame shield is dumb and procs on all melee hits and it burns the enemy 2 Ram can be used on any subclass and tank shoulder charge, self-rez a 1000K Stare headshot, and Golden Gun with Radiant Skin 3 Stormcaller has obscene range with Thunderstrike and Feedback gives you super powerful melee 4 Stormtrance with Transcendence can kill you 3 times after respawns because it lasts so long 5 In PvE, you don't generate any orbs because everyone holds onto their self-rez 6 Burning firebolts with Viking Funeral is obnoxious 7 Their dresses are hideous
