This is for you bungie. I hope Cozmo and Deej read this.
I am a very close to day one player. Started in October after this whole adventure started. I've been through the vault of glass and seen the stalactites, memorized the gorgon paths, traveled through time and back to kill a giant glass behemoth. (Pushed him off too to get my first vex)
I've jumped into a hellmouth and went to a throne world to kill a giant spirit knight. I've destroyed more thrall and ogres than the cryptarchy can count.
I've scoured the planets and wolves hunting wolves. Participated in blood sport so the queen can be entertained. (Made a gladiator reference or two)
I've waged war against a god. I've infiltrated and destroyed the defenses of a dreadnaught. I've killed oryx, his son, his war general, his daughters, and his pet dog.
I've been to Mercury. (Got carried a little, not the best pvp player) I've played in every iron banner and collected everything worthwhile. I've rerolled my trusty felwinters lie probably 1000 times. I've raced fellow gaurdians across the fields of Mars and the hills of Venus. I've stayed up all night to see what xur has in store.
I've been there for every nerf and buff. The good and the bad. I have collected every exotic. Grinded strikes, been frustrated with randoms, been frustrated at lag, at glitchy ogres and bosses.
I've received godly RNG drops. But I've also gotten the worst luck of all time. I'm not 320 on all characters yet. (Why you do this to me oryx ): )
You can say I've done everything. I love this game wholeheartedly and I know I'll play this series until it ends. I've never been so into the lore of a game so much that I stay awake at night thinking about what's next. This game is amazing. We know it has faults. By the knows it has faults, but it consistently brings me back every Tuesday to do it all again. Yes I get burnt out on it. Yes I play other games. But this will always be in my eyes the best game I've ever played.
I know some of you wont agree with me. You will call me a desticle. Go ahead. I still love this game. I want to let everyone at bungie know I appreciate everything you do and that I'll be here for every step of the way.
Edit 1: glad to see some people live this game as much as I do. To you I say, I'll see you in the game (unless you are on Xbox. sorry guys) to the others that are salty or don't play anymore, I hope you find peace enough to stay off the forums at not troll or bring down people that actually do love the game.

Edit 3: glad to see some heated discussions going on. It seems that people are happy to play this game for the most part. I think we all know and can agree that this is not a perfect game. There is always something people will not like. If you don't like the game. It's ok. There are other games that you can play. But please don't trash a game that plenty of people love just because you are a little salty about something. I can name plenty of things that I wish bungie would change ( KF raid loot drops for one). Any ways, have fun guardians.

I have been playing since Beta, day one and I'm the founder and admin of one of the first and most important clans in PR. This game has changed the way I look at video games for what they are and for what they could be. Destiny is simply an amazing game with all its flaws. Bungie has created something unique and special. Something more than a game they created a hobby. The only thing I ask the developers is to learn from their mistakes and continue to improve and hear what the fans want. In my opinion TTK was a major improvement and it makes me excited for Destiny 2. Travelers light Guardians!!!

In other words, simple things amuse simple minds. Most of us expected them to a) not have this game be in Beta for as long as it has, and b) follow through on the hype and expectations that THEY put out there for this game. After all, it was advertised as this massive 500 million dollar 10 year revolutionary next gen masterpiece that would change fps shooters as we knew them. People like me bought into that and the huge open world MMO type feel it was supposed to have. I mean, this was Bungie! How could the creators of Myth, a series well ahead of its time with fantastic story telling, and Halo, possibly screw this opportunity up? But they preyed on a generation of MMO fanatics and sold us on something they could never deliver. I'm glad you're happy with it, but lots of us wanted more than just a simple RNG loot grind through a hand full of relevant encounters and painful laggy, unbalanced PVP.

1 Replyyou had the opportunity to say something sensible but did nothing. you know nothing about Destiny, my friend. you don't know what it was made out to be, you don't know about grinding the alpha or before that, for years when we were following news on developments. the things they promised and advertised, all the things they never delivered. destiny had the potential to be the greatest game ever made. it is nothing compared to what it could and should be. it is nothing to me anymore except browsing the forums and playing pvp matches.

You're just addicted bro. Wake up! You're In denial. They hired a behavioral psychologicalist to help design the game. It just shows how ethical bungie is. I loved this game but bungie ruined it for me hopefully "destiny 2 " will be better

9 RepliesI am a player who participated in the Beta. I have been through everything. Vault, Crota, Prison, Oryx. I have played every strike, every story mission, so far done every Exotic quest, dabbled in Iron Banner and Trials, even did the first Queen's Wrath. I have seen the Crucible Meta full of Blinkguns, Suros Godslayers, Thorn Last Words, Mida Multikills, Sniper/Gripers, and all sorts of other insanity. I would be lying if I said I didn't enjoy MOST of my time in Destiny. However.... I will still rip each and every game developer and publisher new Hellmouths if they betray our trust. Bungie made great games like Marathon, Oni, and of course Halo. They had recognition because they did a great job with most of those games. Then they marketed things about Destiny that weren't true. Trading/gambling, exploring the visible landscape around you, Faction Wars, story full of deep and interesting things(somewhat added later but too little too late). European Dead Zone was cut. Old Chicago was cut. Mercury was cut. Europa was cut. Dreadnought was shown in a god damned trailer and we didn't even play in it until Year 2. I want Destiny to get better, be better than it is. I want what Bungie originally promised and hinted at. I want Bungie to continue making cool games and content. But I don't expect it anymore. Since one of the only people I played Destiny with has moved on to the Xbox One, I no longer really have a reason to play. I could make new friends, but it isn't the same. We were in a clan together, until that fell apart. Even after we still raided and had fun. Now, I am all that is left of the old clan, not even in title as I left that behind too. I guess my time is done with this game. I will undoubtedly still hop on every once in a blue moon to see what changed or for new content, but I think it is time to let the new fans have Destiny. I will continue to lurk in the forums, cracking jokes, telling tales, and enjoying this bittersweet n salty community. So long my fellow undead warriors. Keep fighting the good fight(for loot).
