The easiest way to get a kill in crucible is the nightstalker's smoke+nade combo

case closed. they are also the same people who have thousands of kills with TLW, Mida, and thorn. let the crutchy players try to defend themselves anyways. *Let me add that I am in no way saying that the player using this tactic doesn't have skill, but the smoke+nade tactic used is by far the easiest way to get a single kill in crucible, especially in small team game modes like trials and skirmish. I play all my classes almost equally, so i'm not biased.*

  • Because fusions and firebolts are totally balanced too.

  • It's incredibly devastating in trials to throw the double combo into a scumbags sniper perch. Usually take 2 of them. You can't win, something is always unfair or too easy on the forums. Because fusion grenades, and firebolt grenades don't exist.

  • They have an amazing melee and grenade combo ability, perfect for trapping people and locking down territories. However, the super leaves much to be desired. At max it will score you one or two kills depending on the skill level of the players you are facing. Many times while I'm rocking night stalker, I don't use my super at all, as it is a poor killing tool compared to golden gun, and a poor anti-super tool compared to nova bombs, Titan smashes, and golden gun again.

  • It only tends to work on people crouching next to a door or corner with a shotgun. Or on mindless shotgun rushers, u put it right in their path. But these guys never think to retreat. Just to damn shotgun horny. Also works well on snipe camping hardcopers. Pro tip. If u want to avoid a completely static area of effect nade move. The only thing that makes this classic viable in crucible is its venom smokes which strengthen its Base game. Thus compensating for its super. Although in some circumstances the bow can be very strong when used with thought. It is not that much better than a bubble.

In Street Fighter, the scrub labels a wide variety of tactics and situations “cheap.” This “cheapness” is truly the mantra of the scrub. Performing a throw on someone is often called cheap. A throw is a special kind of move that grabs an opponent and damages him, even when the opponent is defending against all other kinds of attacks. The entire purpose of the throw is to be able to damage an opponent who sits and blocks and doesn’t attack. As far as the game is concerned, throwing is an integral part of the design—it’s meant to be there—yet the scrub has constructed his own set of principles in his mind that state he should be totally impervious to all attacks while blocking. The scrub thinks of blocking as a kind of magic shield that will protect him indefinitely. Why? Exploring the reasoning is futile since the notion is ridiculous from the start. You will not see a classic scrub throw his opponent five times in a row. But why not? What if doing so is strategically the sequence of moves that optimizes his chances of winning? Here we’ve encountered our first clash: the scrub is only willing to play to win within his own made-up mental set of rules. These rules can be staggeringly arbitrary. If you beat a scrub by throwing projectile attacks at him, keeping your distance and preventing him from getting near you—that’s cheap. If you throw him repeatedly, that’s cheap, too. We’ve covered that one. If you block for fifty seconds doing no moves, that’s cheap. Nearly anything you do that ends up making you win is a prime candidate for being called cheap. Street Fighter was just one example; I could have picked any competitive game at all. A short excerpt from http://www.sirlin.net/ptw-book/introducingthe-scrub

      • Yeah its no fun. I played skirmish and ran into 3 night stalkers yesterday :/ Nothing but smoke and vortex nades. So silly! I'm blinded by smoke... can't jump, can't use super, can't evade, I'm already taking damage from smoke, can't move, and then a purple ball comes flying towards me and there's nothing I can do!

      • Shit, I guess I'm terrible with my thousands of kills with MIDA in year 1. It was my favorite exotic in year 1 and I used it constantly. Ask people I did vanilla VoG with and they'll say "the little shit used it constantly, he was our designated supplicant killer with that shit."

      • No lmao. Easiest way is probs a tie between Fist of Havoc and Nova Bomb and Quillms Terminus, but yes without supers or heavy Wombo combo is indeed most effective. I use it against revives or self rezzes in Trials when I'm shotgunning or to block off a doorway when I'm pinched in Rumble. Although I'm not that guy who runs Ahamkara Grasps and Max Disciple to he can get a smokenade kill during every engagement.

          • Ever heard of fusion grenades? Only takes one ability charge and before you try and argue that you actually have to aim it, don't even, those things curve like the truth to stick people. Same goes for flux and magnetic grenades. Your just a salty guardian.

Yes, you are biased. It is not as easy as you think. Yes I use mida, but thorn was actually overpowered, however mida is the same as it always has been. It's not a crutch when the majority of teams use it. Now let me explain something to you, the fact that the nightstalker has a smoke made combo compensates for the lackluster grenade abilities and a weak hunter Melee. The nightstalker has a decent neutral game for mid-long range engagements. Striker Titans and warlocks own close quarters. Sometimes our only defense to get out of a stick situation is a smoke made combo to lock down a lane so we can actually regen without getting rushed, or a Rez to slow down those pesky overshields. We have a super ability that requires a decent amount of experience to use effectively, and has a few questionable results at times. [edit: there really is no way to be unbiased. You are the sum of your experiences, as am I]

                • So fist of havok or nova bomb isn't easier? A super that most people panic with? Or pre nerf sunbreaker that people got ptsd from?

                  • Eh I'm not sure. You have to hit the person with the smoke first. Not saying that's hard but you can also kill someone by throwing a tripmine near them. Firebolt grenade alone is more powerful than any grenade or grenade combo so until that gets fixed I can't complain.
