Ummm how exactly?
How is making it more difficult for terrorists to get into the country letting them "win"?
Be honest with yourself for once and admit you don't know what the hell you're talking about.
Edit: a Freudian slip was in the title, now fixed
Edit 2: to anyone who might say "do unto others", I sure as hell don't expect free handouts if America was taken over by terrorists. You can bet your ass I'd stay here and fight to the end to defend the flag and its citizens. The first day a civil war breaks out I'd be the first one in the recruiting station. I ain't no bitch who makes other countries deal with my country's problems.
Edit3: to people saying " it'll make them hate us for not letting them in!!!". If all it takes for them to hate us is a simple no, they were never peaceful enough to live here.

If we put a ban on Muslims it just gives them another reason to hate America.

1 ReplyTrump's Proposal would be illegal under the 1st and 13th amendments and only gives Goatf*ckers International something to use as propaganda to drive people to their "cause"
-
4 RepliesI'd say you're the clueless one here. Do me a favor and tell me what the definition of a terrorist is. If we compromise on the platform our nation's taken historically because we're afraid of them, they've accomplished the purpose of their terrorism.
-
8 Replies"Look at how the west treats you. They don't care about you. Join us" That in short will be how IS treat refugees we've turned away.
-
2 RepliesIf we sacrifice freedom for security, we deserve neither. That applies to anyone's freedom. And you may disagree about the fact that rejecting refugees shows fear and gives more power to Daesh, but consider something else: every major terrorist group that has threatened us recently, namely Al Qaeda, the Taliban, and Daesh, were made, supported and allowed to grow by us. We gave them funding and weapons so they could help us depose tyrants. We fueled the fires that are destroying that part of the world. We are just as responsible as the terror groups for the state of chaos the Middle East is currently in. We are indirectly responsible for creating the conditions that have led to this mass exodus of refugees. We have a responsibility to help those people.
-
Let me put it to you very simply. No terrorist group ever needed any lucrative way to enter the country. A commercial airliner will do just fine if they want in this country. No need to act as a refugee.

1 ReplyMore Americans kill other Americans monthly than people who died from 911. The refuges are (mostly) innocent people who are trying to escape another hyper-oppressive government, let them in without your petty judgement.

10 RepliesDefend the flag...? I like living here and all, but I wouldn't defend one of the most corrupt and flawed countries in the whole entire world.

1 ReplyFirst Trump was targeting Mexicans, now it's Muslims. I guess once you deport Juan, you deport Jamal.

12 RepliesWe are supposed to be the land of the Free and home of the Brave. By not allowing people in , it shows that we are afraid , so therefore they win. We allow them to influence and change the way we live our every day lives , they win. Unfortunately , to live as our founding Fathers intended , makes us vulnerable to modern day threats. Either we have to change what we see as American Liberty , or accept that we as a people are never safe in our own country. It is a side effect of the Freedoms we believe every one deserves.

Terrorism is the most effective thing on the planet it can bring a country to its knees with causalities less than a million

5 RepliesWhen there's a bad Syrian Refugee, you need a good guy with a Syrian Refugee to stop them. -Libtard Logic
-
3 RepliesWell, there's the school of thought that believes the goal of terrorism is to force you to change your behavior due to fear, or terror. A sudden shift in public policy regarding refugees would seem to indicate fear on our part, meaning that terrorists have made us respond fearfully to their threat; they win.

Edited by Sora Orth: 1/14/2016 1:40:35 PMAsk yourself this, if you where living in say Seria, and all of a sudden a malita terrorist group organized in your home country started going to war with several of the most powerful country's in the world, what would you do? When the other country's bombed the crap out of your home, your friends and family's homes, leaving you homeless and possibly killed someone you loved, what would you do? What would you do if said country's that possibly killed your loved ones and ruined your lives just refused to help you. Regardless of your answer, what it it gives is ISIS the fuel to throw on the fire saying that no one cares about the refugees they created, who are then likely when denied help to go look for someone else to give the illusion of safety, like ISIS. The chance of anyone related to ISIS would try to get in the refugee line, when there are dozens of better quicker, easier ways of doing so. Them trying shows eather they have no other way of getting in, or it's a full scare tactic again.

7 RepliesDear fellow Europeans not being against inviting these refuges to America,.. Shut the BLAM up! Look at your darn history books, violence is in the blood of those people, they hate American guts, BLAM being fair, I'm not gonna let a bum take one of my two flat screens because it isn't fair!? And fellow dumb Americans, zip your lips and think a bit, this is our country, you can't live your whole life being a hippie, I don't want to fear going in a Walmart because some talibanie is pissed off, THIS IS THE UNITED STATES, A COUNTRY FOR AMERICANS! NOT REFUGEES, TIMES CHANGE, YOU CANT FOLLOW THE IDEALS THAT DON'T FIT IN OUR TIME.
-
Those refugees are not all terrorists, it's the blood you should fear, it's a blood of hate since the beginning of time. Please understand you are inviting a violent fighting people, it might not be an issue now but a generation later is all it takes, look at what's happening in Europe it's disaster but no let's invite the mother of storms. America has enough problems to deal with as it is,

1 ReplyIf you were told that Great britan was not going to allow you to go live there would it make you want to become a terrorist who hates GB and wants to cause its citiznes harm? Most likely not. And if so then its good GB didnt let you in anyways since you are so quick to violence This liberal BS is crazy

What people don't want to accept is that Western countries are now in a situation where someone has to lose no matter what decision is made, and that's uncomfortable to them. No one want sot make uncomfortable decisions anymore, and no-one wants to accept scenarios where there's no answer that's going to let everyone off on sunshine and roses. Right now Westerners are having to decide, who is going to lose? These Middle Easterners/North Africans and their children, us and our children, or both? So far, the idea that "both" is the best answer because it's "fair" has prevailed. Either way, the bad guys win, and that's what's probably most uncomfortable of all to people, and people do not want to feel uncomfortable which is why they try to avoid the complexities of the situation.

6 RepliesEdited by Wheeze: 1/13/2016 6:51:30 PMIf you seriously believe that ISIS, or any terrorist organization, represents an existential threat to the United States of America, you need to talk to your doctor about adjusting your medication. As to your broader question, terrorism is an act where a small group of people, through violence or the threat of violence, affect a county to change its actions or behaviors. So, by changing our refugee policy in light of a terrorist attack, that's the dictionary definition of allowing terrorism to succeed. Also, it plays into ISIS's hands. They want other countries to turn refugees away, to take away the "grey areas" where Muslims and non-Muslims can live together in peace, to force an easily avoidable "clash of civilizations." Also, not for nothing, but refugee screenings are literally the most vigorous in terms of background checks, most time consuming way to get into this country.

Edited by cxkxr: 1/14/2016 2:27:49 AMAllowing the 2nd amendment to exist means the terrorists win as well. ISIS WANTS americans to have guns, therefore to win we must ban guns from Americans.

It shows them that they're getting to us, and that means the terrorists win.

16 RepliesI'll use a metaphor. You have a nice little hut. But oh no! A man is lighting it on fire. You try to stop him with brute force, but you can't. He then start putting wood on the fire to keep it going. To stop him from having fire, you have to catch the wood. And if you try to catch the wood, you might get a splinter. But having a splinter is a lot better than having a burnt down house. The hut is the world. The fire is the terrorist movement. The wood are refugees. Splinters are the possibility of terrorists getting in to our country. So what's worse. 2 or 3 minor incidents with terrorism in the homeland, or the entire world under siege by an insurrectionist movement. I believe you know the answer.

4 RepliesMore people will convert to radicalism, and become terrorists themselves. It's a simple recruiting tactic for terror organizations in poverty-stricken and war-torn areas, and it specifically targets people who had high hopes of leaving. Now instead of more illegal immigrants, we actually have more terrorists.

1 ReplyEdited by The Cryptard: 1/13/2016 8:20:38 PMWe all occupy the same planet, and for some reason national borders mean more to us than the well being of mankind as a whole. Yes, there is a problem with immigrants flooding in from an area we aren't on friendly terms with. Yes, there is a problem with immigrants coming to place that is vastly different than where they came from. Lastly, yes, it is a risk in every way. It's a risk because we are already in a recession that is borderline a depression. We are a year or two away from another economical bubble collapse that will destroy more lives. We are paying out more to take care of immigrants and battle with the political correctness of things than we should be. The human race needs to unite, we need to be able to take care of one another and progress into the future. We collectively are running on thin wire with the state of this world. Pollution, over-population, lack of education, famine, religious wars, and the ever growing amount natural resources being consumed will undo everything. If we can't start working together around the world we will fail as a species. The issue though is the well being of every nation is solely its own responsibility in most ways. People don't care to help others because they are more worried about themselves. If we take in 10,000+ people from Syria theres a chance that some will be extremist. There's a chance they could be harboring disease that is yet to be identified. There's a chance they will live off of government aid and inherently run up the bill for the already dwindling middle class in the US. How could we live here in the US without our excess? What if we had to pass up a new IPhone or hover board? Make sacrifices to help each other instead of trying to keep up with fads. It's not human nature to be so selfish, it's a learned trait. We have adapted to what makes us sexually attractive to one another. New jeans and a fast car, or duck faces and a selfie stick. We wouldn't have to worry about immigrants if we didn't live in a society where meaningless objects meant more than a human life. We could have used this worlds resources and technology to have mastered so much more if we had banded together and left that Middle Ages mindset behind. Most of us are on a computer or cell phone 8+ hours a day, and here we are arguing the value of human life in monetary terms. It's sickening. We have billionaires out there currently deciding the color of their new jet, who throw a few million to charity so they can tax shield themselves and look like heroes. Not a single one of them is offering assistance to a man living on the streets, or a single mom who works two jobs just to keep shoes on her children. These immigrants aren't the real concern. More people are dying from poverty than gun crimes, war, and traffic accidents annually. It's all an issue of money, patriotic duty, and the American Dream. What it's not, a duty to mankind. Syrian's fled in droves away from their country, their homes. By foot, boat, train. All in search of a new life, something better than the hand they've been dealt. Do you know why they didn't flee to other countries in their region? Do you know how they treat people there? Even in allied nations there, they live like kings in the dark ages. They fled to us because we are supposed to be the voice of reason. Even as we tarnish ourselves with these petty political squabbles and discriminatory allegations nationwide, we are still hope to the world. If we as a people can't lend a hand to those in need no matter where they come from, if we can't help each other even here in the US, there's no hope for tomorrow.

Bad solution, this would just be fuel for ISIS to recruit those refugees. Then again, there is no realistic good solution to this that doesn't kill even more people.
